HIRE BETTER MANAGEMENT…read more I preordered food, I will never do that again. I went and had to stand behind a huge crowd of employees that made no effort or work whatsoever. Even the managers (X2) stood there not caring that the lobby was filthy and people were waiting with no help to get concessions or be scanned in because they were all blocking me and laughing at a baby Yoda doll. Then after I raised my hand behind the workers, for sometime one manager told them to let me through. Just to be told my order had already been filled. Great so where is it, someone not me must have picked it up. They made it seem as if this were a me problem or maybe I was lying. After sometime of looking at my order verification, not by one manager but two they finally gave me and my partner our large popcorn. Yes, by now we were late for our movie (we spent over 20 minutes with the crowd of workers and are we getting our popcorn or not stuff). Then we move to get scanned into our movie. Guess where the crowd of kids working there had moved to, not to clean the lobby or help other people. No they were crowded in front of the podium to get scanned into our movie. It took several, "excuse me," before they decide to split the group, so I had to walk down an aisle of 6-8 employees just to get scanned. I even said this is super awkward. To which they said, "yeah, right" Why do they not go do some work. Anyway, I'm not sure I will go back even if it's the only theatre in town. But I will definitely not opt for preordering food, so they can ask if you're lying about picking it up and make you late for the movie. Hire better management!! They were a big problem. I like when the retro girl worked there. Hope she's still there.

(No big deal.) I had cash in hand. When it was my turn I ordered a ticket, a hot dog, and a soda; the total cost was $23. They don't take American cash. I left. I was just passing through town, so I won't be back.

It is modestly sized likely due to its remote location in Cedar City. We were greeted right away when we walked in. Not everything was available for food purchases at the concessions. We were offered alternatives however. Our seats in the theater had old popcorn on them from the previous movie showing. They did not clean well enough in between movies. It was no big deal to wipe the popcorn off the seats. But it would be nice if they cleaned up between movies. The 3D glasses worked great. The sound was great. The air temperature was good in the theater. I enjoyed the Avatar 3D experience. The movie experience was great. It was the Megaplex movie experience I'm used to getting. I will likely return in the future. We saw the 12:40pm movie on a Saturday and the theater was not crowded. The later movies that day had bigger crowds.

The seats: full recline with a movable table for snacks, awesome. Was able to reserve online without having to sign up for any program. Ambiance: there is a "vip" check in area if you buy vip tickets, and they will deliver snacks to you with this package. Perks: unlike "chain" movie places I was pleasantly surprised at the lack or millions of commercials before the movie. Our movie (the odyssey) started within 10 minutes of published showtime AND we got a 5 min "intermission break" that my friends who watched at a Regal/AMC definitely did not (and wish they had, it was a long movie). They also seem to have their own points/rewards program if you frequent.

We came to Panguitch with a group of 15-20 friends and family who are all staying in the same rental for a week while we tour the parks. We were looking for a place to take the group for some ice cream and found out the Gem is a working theatre as well. It is the end of season, however, and my wife and I learned that we just happened to stop in on the last hours of the very last day so we wouldn't be able to bring the gang. So glad we stopped to check it out. So instead of bringing the crew over to the ice cream we ended up buying a bunch of the ice cream stock and bars and chocolates to bring home for the following evening's dessert. Last night we gathered for dessert after dinner and told them the story of this great place and even greater interaction. They were rapt with attention as we described the setting, the convo, and the taste testing of some very interesting and delectable treats. Ice cream flavors like "Blue Goggles, "Guava, Passionfruit, and even Tomarillo" were a hit- many explaining it was the best ice cream they've had. The chocolate-dipped ice cream bars really stood out. They come in both dark and light chocolate and are layered with caramel inside. The biggest surprise about them is that the outside is sprinkled with popped quinoa. Who knew? What a genius combination. SO GOOD!! They also make their own chocolates and those were all to die for. Wish I had this place and this guy a little closer to home in Chico, Ca but I guess we'll have to make a detour out this way once the season opens back up again and plan on taking in a movie and popcorn and then raid the ice cream again. Great job, Chris- it was nice to meet you.

This specific theater has a lot of great qualities. If you're intrigued about what makes this theater great, keep reading, I dare you. It's heavenly. Heavenly because it is clean and we all know Who is next to cleanliness. Seriously though, the seats and aisles are always swept and organized AND the bathrooms are pristine! They have strategically placed trash cans at the proper places to allow you to open the door when you leave, with a paper towel, and throw it away. Not only that, but if you forget to nab a towel, you can actually open it with your FOOT. Catering to the germ-a-phobes like me, now that's top notch service. Options. They have plenty of movies and times to choose from. You can purchase your tickets online, outside at the kiosks, or inside face-to-face. They also have great popcorn, and nachos, and treats, and beverages. Who doesn't love a good flick with an ice cold soda pop in your right and your lover's hand in your left? (Still working on filling my left hand, until then I'll stick some junior mints in it). There is always plenty of parking, even though it shares a lot with other businesses. The very very best part of it all? $5 Tuesday's. Popcorn, nachos, and drinks are also cheaper on that day too. You could literally live there and just binge on all the new movies . #YOLO TIPS & TRICKS: * If you want a delicious snack, buy some popcorn and junior mints. You wouldn't really think, but those two flavors go great together. * The seats are so comfy, but try to purchase one without someone sitting in front of you so you can stretch out. There isn't a ton of leg room and sometimes you feel a little squished.
