Peter gives the worst customer service ever! Avoid like the plague. I took in a perfectly good bike that had never had a flat to have them put liners in the tires(to avoid flats). I brought two bikes into the shop to have armor tubes to be put in, the first bike was done when i arrived to pick up and was informed that's something was wrong with my motor and back tire would not turn backwards. This all happened after Peter test rode the bike and the bike had 15 miles on it and had no problems. I was just told what happened and that was it. The second bike i dropped off had armor tube put in it drove it home and unloaded the bike pushed in garage let it set for 4 days went to load back up to take hunting and the front tire was flat. Called shop and told them what happened they told me to bring it back in to replace tube. We were on our way hunting and took it back to shop after hunting and they said it would be 80.00 that they did not cover it and said they were thorns in the tire and it was our fault and Peter said it could have happened while unloading the biked driveway and pushing it into my garage. What i learned is i took 2 new bikes into shop and left with 2 broke bikes.Horrible customer service. What price they quoted was not the price charged so Beware. So now i take my bikes to Social Cycle Bikes in Lenoir City they are awesome and reasonably priced. read more

Almost all bad experiences at this shop. Arrogant owners and mechanics. Last straw was taking my wheels in to be trued up. Spokes were tightened up the wheels were ruined, they refused to do anything about it. I now go to the Trek dealer in Maryville. read more

Brought in my bike once for a tune up and as soon as the guys started working on it I overheard one of the techs say "why is this piece of shit here?" I'll be honest, it wasn't the nicest road bike, but at the time it was all I could afford and worked perfectly for what I needed. I'd heard good things about this place, but if the employees are going to talk bad about customers or their bikes then I want nothing to do with this shop. Walked-in to buy my daughter a bike and possibly a Slash 9.8 or the new Supercaliber for myself. I have been riding Trek bikes since my MTB/Road racing days over the last 20yrs and currently own a Project One Madone. Anyways, we are in Phase 3 here in Knoxville and they are acting like it's Phase 1. I walk in with my daughter and the lady acted a bit panicked and asked me to wait outside. Ok, no problem. Then comes an out of shape elderly man and says "what do you want?" I said "we'd like to look at some bikes". He says in a gruff tone "we have no bikes for you to look at". Wow! So what do you sell...donuts? I did not say that but I did say immediately "I will take my business to another bike shop". How the heck are these clueless people still in business? I bought my Trek bike here a few years ago and today I went in to get a tire + tubes replaced. I was immediately seen to and my bike was repaired (and tightened+ lubed) in less than 30 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and the labor charge was very reasonable. I am a very happy customer, I would highly recommend this shop! read more

Brought my mountain bike in for a new derailleur. Nobody from the shop ever called me - I had to show up at the shop almost two weeks later to find out they weren't even working on it because somebody gave it to somebody who gave it to somebody who forgot about it. More importantly, the derailleur they installed shattered after only ~25 miles because they had failed to diagnose the source of the problem, which was a bent rear bracket. At a different shop, the tech saw the bracket problem within five seconds of seeing the bike. They also convinced me to get a new rear tire, but they only had two (!) 26-inch mountain bike tires in the entire shop to offer. Of the two, the one they sold me is so terrible I have skidded out multiple times on flat, paved, dry roads. At least when they put on the new tire, the guy admitted he'd probably punctured my tube and gave me another tube for free. I guess that should've been a red flag? read more

Heading out of town with our bikes & we needed a girls bike adapter to more securely load my new-to-me Townie. We stopped at Cedar Bluff Cycles on the advice from a friend. Jerry helped us reload our bikes with the adapter so they would ride higher & more securely. Jerry was knowledgeable & friendly. We also needed a bike multi tool. Both the adapter & tool were reasonable. Jerry also found out we were heading to Hattiesburg to ride the rails to trails there. He shared that he had ridden several of the rails to trails & offered to talk with us about doing other rides. Definitely will be a regular CBC customer from now on! I have a 2019 Trek Emonda SLR 9 that I needed to ship for a paint repair. I took the bike to Cedar Bluff Cycles (CBC) so that they could strip the bike, ship the frame, and then re-assemble upon return. Unfortunately, I experienced multiple issues with CBC. Issue #1 - A week and a half after dropping off my bike I called to check on the status. I spoke with the mechanic who said that the frame was ready to ship but that he couldn't find a box that would fit the frame. He told me that since he was looking for something else to do, he would take care of it right away. If I had not called that day, I wonder how long the frame would have sat in the shop waiting to be shipped. Issue #2 - When the frame returned from the paint repair shop, it took another 3 weeks for them to reassemble the bike. At the end of week one I called and asked if they could have the bike back to me within a week. I was going on a road trip and was wanting to take the bike with me so that I could some riding time in before an upcoming cycling event. Unfortunately, they didn't come through for me. Issue #3 - Dishonesty. Eight days before the bike was ready for pick-up I called to check on the status. The owner said that he was working on it, but that it wasn't ready yet. I took that to mean that they had not started to re-assemble the bike. Given the fact that it would be another week before the bike was ready, they flat out lied to me. I would have appreciated a bit more honesty. Issue #4 - Six weeks before the bike was ready I called to request a new chain and the installation of the Shimano di2 D Fly wireless unit. When I went to pick up the bike, I learned that they did not replace the chain nor did they install the D Fly unit. The owner said that he didn't install the unit because he didn't have the short wire for the installation. They had plenty of time to order the wire but never placed it on order. Issue #5 - As I was returning from my road trip, I stopped by CBC to check on the bike. I spoke with the owner who said that the bike was complete, but that it needed a test ride. The bike was sitting on a rack on the showroom floor. Once again, if I had not stopped by the bike shop, I wonder how long my bike would have sat in the shop waiting for the test ride. Therefore, due to the ridiculously slow service, dishonesty, and failure to complete the requested work, I would not recommend CBC for bicycle service. read more

The guys at CBC are so friendly and funny, I just want buy bikes there all the time! Too bad I'm not rich. I bought my first (and still only) mountain bike there and love it to pieces. Unfortunately, you can usually get cheaper gear by ordering through online stores, but sometimes it's just easier to run down the street and get what you need, even if you pay a little more. Plus, it's always nice to support your local shops! They have a great selection of bikes and can usually get what you need if they don't have it in stock. Also, if you really want that sweet ride you've been eyeballing for a while, chances are you can haggle a little. They remodeled the store a while back so it's got a roomier feel to it. Definitely my go-to bike shop - check it out! read more

Avoid LiSA at all cost!!!!! Many times I have walked in to the store to be "stared and gawked at" and when I have asked "May I speak to a "mechanic" ? " (because a bicycle shop would not be a bike shop without a bicycle mechanic who can provide solutions, therefore selling solutions, not just parts). Lisa sounded flustered and upset that she is not sought after with open my wallet for her sales pitch. She kept trying to sell me brand new bicycles which I said numerous times I am NOT interested in buying a new bicycle but modifying my bicycle for better fitting. Then All the mechanics in the store just gawked and gave you that cold stare without a single greeting nor any suggestion how they can provide solution to my problem. The tallest guy in the shop above 6 feet tall, just waved his hand off and said "you're not a serious cyclist" with his egotistical elitist tone looking down at me. Their goal is not to provide solutions and helping customers to their needs but they will gawk at you like an unwanted guest as you walk in if you're not readily coming in with a full open wallet to immediately buy a brand new bicycle. Lisa will try her best to talk down to you and "this is what you need to buy" WITHOUT EVER Carefully Explaining any elaboration as to WHY OTHER options are not better solutions. She would only repeat like an annoying PARROT "This is what you need (to buy). This is what you need to buy. Buy. Buy. Buy....". When I ask her what did the mechanic say and is that because the other part would be too small or too big? THEN she will get temperamental and then FINALLY explain why she came to her own conclusion and she sounded extremely annoyed which eventually helped my understand. (Sell your solution not your temperament pressure to just buy stuff without a reason). Other than few other mechanics that are just WONDERFUL the Shop owner and Lisa sounded extremely egotistical and condescending to someone who came to their store assuming they would listen for my bicycle issues before selling me anything. If it were not the arrogant, unwelcoming STARES and GAWKS, distasteful, unwelcoming rude tone of gesture I get every time I walk in, I would give 5 stars because other mechanics were very caring and extremely helpful. read more

Love this store. I agree with first poster, most everyone that works in the store is super friendly and helpful Tim, Scooter, and Mike are my favs to go to for help. They helped me buy my first "investment," which means the most expensive bike i've bought. I did pay about $75 more for the bike in CBC, at the time I thought, "oh well, at least the store is close-by should I need something, and to support a local bike shop." Little did I know....I would never buy a bike anywhere else now! These guys are all so wonderful, whether I simply stop by to have them check up my bike(free for one year) or to ask a silly question. A nice option is well is that they will order something in for you if they do not carry it. I had found a Trek bike basket online which I liked. Scooter ordered it for me and I had it, and installed in 4 days. For anything bike needs check these guys out! read more

I give One Star...because at least I was greeted at the door...by a sales person. Terrible from there on. Ask about what kind of cycles are available with LARGE tires. I was seeing more and more around the country...the rep there showed me a pic on their PC and said they start at about $600. After I choked....and laughed...I said I wasn't looking for a Harley.....instead of digging deeper....as a good sales person...I got the infamous deer in head light look....and was told....go over to the Academy....they sell those...cheaper....It appeared that if you weren't looking at a $2500 cycle....they weren't interested....won't recommend. Knoxville doesn't command or I wouldn't think those kinds of spenders....maybe occasionally....headed to the Academy. read more

My husband and I both got our mountain bikes from here. We worked mostly with Tim and found him to be extremely helpful. This was a big purchase for us and we visited the store several times trying to decide which bike would be the best fit for us--Tim was always friendly and polite and did not try to pressure us into a decision we were unsure of. They also have a program where they will buy and sell previously owned bikes (you have to take your bike in to the store so they can see if it's something they can resell). We were pleasantly surprised when they offered us a reasonable price for my husband's road bike. They also offer a discount on your bikes if you purchase two at once. Overall, we had a great experience at Cedar Bluff Cycles, so if you're in the market for a bike, be sure to check them out. read more
