I got a couple of quotes through Yelp, but ultimately decided to go with Kay Green -- and I'm so glad I did. It took Young and his crew about a day and a half to complete the project. I live in a townhouse community, and they were very respectful of the shared space. They did an excellent job cleaning up the carport area they used for their equipment and materials. We ran into a few unexpected issues during the project, but Young was always upfront about what was happening and communicated his solutions clearly. His recommendations were thoughtful and turned out great. I would definitely use Kay Green again for any future landscaping projects and will happily recommend them to family and friends!

They ruined and broke numerous branches while admitting that these plants are very delicate. They rushed the job that should have been at least two hours and finished in one hour. I should have stopped them after the owner told me to go inside and they will let me know when they were done. You never tell someone that's paying you $500 dollars to take your time and do a professional job to go inside. I should have told him to get the F off of my property and hired someone else. I would have been better off hiring men from Home Depot. Totally unprofessional, rushed the job, ruined a couple of plants and didn't give a shit how it looked, even after I showed the owner the damaged plants and all the broken branches only to find more as the branches dried out in the weeks to come. He tells me the plants are delicate, but yet they didn't treat them that way. I will never hire this unprofessional company again and recommend that you don't hire them either. They have plenty of help to do a good job, but refuse to do so. This was a total rip off job to the tune of $500. I'm so sorry I hired this clown to do this job, every time I look at what they did it makes me sick and pissed that I didn't throw them off my property and paid them nothing. I've waited weeks to write this review, in hopes that the job would look better, but it doesn't. Thanks a lot, KAY GREEN LANDSCAPING FOR DOING A SHITTY JOB AND TELLING ME TO GO INSIDE. I should have kicked your ass to the curb and told you to take a hike.

He was incredibly patient and accommodating, answering all of our questions quickly via text and email. His crew was led by Jose, who did a thorough and beautiful job installing the pavers, retaining wall, lighting, and drip lines. Though a minor language barrier caused a few quick miscommunications, Manuel was on-site almost every day of the 1.5-week project to keep everything running smoothly. We are so excited to start adding plants and accessories to our gorgeous new yard! We highly recommend Black Diamond. The crew was professional, paid attention to the details, and did a very good job with the cleanup afterward. The pricing was also a major plus. We received a quote from Black Diamond that was more than 50% higher. Black Diamond certainly does a lot more marketing, but we didn't see any difference in the proposed work to justify paying that much more. The pavers and borders came out great, and the finished work has made a noticeable difference to the front of our house. If you're getting quotes for a paver project, I'd definitely recommend getting a quote from them. Good quality work, reasonable pricing, finished ahead of schedule, and no mess left behind.

I met with Victor for an initial consultation on a large project ( more than 1500 sq ft ) and he was the sixth contractor I'd spoken with for a quote. He might have many years of experience, but the conversation felt totally one-sided. He spent most of our time presenting his own ideas and didn't value about my goals or priorities. Some of his suggestions may have merit, but he also raised concerns about things I know from years of living in the home aren't actual issues, and the scope he proposed felt larger than necessary. For a project of this size, feeling heard is very important. I'd encourage the team to start with the customer's needs and listen before recommending solutions. Unfortunately, I won't be moving forward, regardless of pricing.

An overdue review for the backyard project Almaden Valley Landscape worked on for us last year…read more From the start James had been very responsive to email and Ken working on our quote. We must have went back and forth 7-8 times before finalizing the design. One tip is that Ken will work around your budget so make sure you let him know your budget. We live in a new development home with an unfinished backyard with just dirt. We had a lot of weed growing out which they got rid of in a day's work. Ken is such an experienced landscape designer, he worked with us on designing our pavers, seating wall curvature, sprinklers system, lighting, built-in BBQ and all the types of plants. I showed him pictures from Pinterest of the double sided fireplace we liked and he was able to recreate it in our backyard. That fireplace is a center piece and we can't get enough good comments about it from our guests. This was a 6 week project and there was some on and off days, they did not come everyday working on it as they had multiple projects at the same time. Ultimately it got done in a 8 week time frame. Ken was not hesitant to come back and fix our sprinklers when there were issues. I highly recommend James, Ken, Dominic and their team to work on your landscape.
