Wow! Craig is the best.... He is a great guy and did an awesome job repairing my most dear and important heirloom. My hutch was falling apart and Craig made it as sturdy as an ox. He was fast and after inspection at time of pickup, we noticed another little lift on the front door. He fabricated a little brace for it and now this piece is in the best shape of my time with it. Thank you Craig - my fellow Deadhead! I recommend him without reservation!! read more

CDS Company - Antique hutch repaired! - Furniture Repair Near Me - Auburn, California

A family member stepped on the rung of one of our bar chairs, breaking it. I decided to leave the repair to an expert. I Googled CDS Company, liked the reviews, and decided to call to see if my chair could be repaired. Craig, the owner, was certain that he could repair it, so we set a time for me to bring it to his shop. He gave me clear directions and met me at my car to take the chair out and up to his shop. He carefully assessed how he would go about repairing it and said he would have it repaired by the following week. I was delighted when I picked it up yesterday, seeing that Craig not only expertly repaired the rung, he took the extra step of painting it, matching the red color perfectly. Craig is an expert in his field, having worked in furniture repair and refinishing for years. He clearly loves what he does and takes pride in his work. I almost want to break some of our furniture so I can do business with him again. Just kidding! Seriously, it was a pleasure doing business with Craig and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his expert service. Good workmanship and service like this are worth their weight in gold! read more

Craig did and excellent job. He rebuild our 4 dining room chairs with suede covering that were falling apart. He took them apart and rebuilt them, they are as good as new. We had guests coming for Christmas and he rushed them out in a week and a half. Stellar. I would recommend Craig for any of you furniture needs. Helmar Sowick 415 244-9526 read more

Yes! Amazing talent. Did a repair of a wood chair for me. Reasonable and well-done! And a great guy to boot!!!

We chose this company because they were local and advertised being a professional furniture refinisher. We got anything but professional work. My antique chairs have gouges in them- some poorly attempted fixes and some just left. The new caning was stained and the end result is blotchy and unacceptable. The top of our antique dining table that was to be refinished and stained to match the bottom of the table and the chairs turned out a different color altogether. When confronted with our unacceptance we were told he would get back to us to make it right. This has not happened despite our clear communication on several attempts. Very disappointed in a local small business. read more

Long had an old rocking chair sat in a back room, needing help. Its seat was broken, all the screws had come out, and a spindle was missing from its back. After calling a furniture repair man a few years ago (who came to my house to give me an estimate and never called me back), I thought my chances of success of finding one in Auburn were slim. However, after googling "furniture repair" for Auburn, I chanced upon Craig at CDS. He was very attentive, gave me a fair opening quote over the phone, and had me bring the chair at my earliest convenience. In less than a week after dropping the chair off, Craig had it looking like new (well, for an antique chair) and had even fixed things not on the estimate. He is a talented repair man. He is fair and expedient. I look forward to working with him in FB future on other items in my home that need a bit of attention. I completely recommend him. read more

My grandmother was going to throw away one of her favorite chairs. She loved the character of the chair, she found the CDS company repair, and they restored it better than she could've imagined! The chair looks beautiful. Everything was done with upmost care! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who needs a furniture repair. Thank you so much for the great job! read more

I cannot say enough positives about the service and quality of work that Craig provides. I sent an inquiry around 7:00am, he called around 8:00am and a same day appointment was set. Craig arrived precisely at the agreed to time of 9:30am and by 10:30 the repair was complete. Price was MORE than reasonable too. If I could give 10 stars I would. Highly recommended!! read more

We live in Rocklin and were searching for a furniture repair service. After pouring over reviews of companies from Sacramento to Rancho Cordova to Nevada City, we liked what we read regarding CDS Company in Auburn. Craig is very personable and easy to work with. We had a barrel-back banker's desk chair with wooden swivel base. The ends of two of the legs were broken apart to where they would not hold the casters any longer. Craig rebuilt the ends, refinished the wood, and reinstalled the casters. I'm sitting in the chair as I write this review and loving having my chair back after several years of non-use. Excellent job, Craig! read more

Craig has done several repairs for me. Usually something broken or in desperate need of repairs. Craig has done a great job every time.

We had Craig refinish a 35 year old oak dining table. I am extremely happy with the finished product! Craig was very patient with us as it took some time to decide on a finish. He delivered it this morning and both my husband and I couldn't be happier. Craig is very professional and polite, and a very nice person to work with. I would highly recommend his work! He also repairs furniture, so after delivering our table we had him take a winged chair that is broken back to his shop. Looking forward to another positive experience! read more

My husband and I had several family heirloom pieces of furniture repaired and refinished by Craig. He is very professional and courteous. His work is superior and he really understands and respects the sentimental value of family furniture handed down though the generations. We will definitely trust him to restore more items for us. read more

I've had Craig do two (2) jobs for me now. The first one was pretty straight forward. The second one was intense - rebuilding a 40 year old reclining desk chair. Lots of sentimental value. Craig did a great job and always pays attention to detail. The chair came out great. Good price and fast turn-a-round. He's my go-to furniture guy...!! read more

My mother brought a broken chair to CDS Company for repair. Craig was polite, accommodating and incredible skilled in his craft. The chair was repaired in one day, even though he had a lot of other projects in the works. His attention to detail, along with his workmanship were inspiring. I would recommend him to any who need quality repair work. Bill B. read more

I called CDS today in search of a repairman for my sectional sofas which have two broken recliner pulls. Craig answered the phone, was incredibly pleasant, and offered to come to my house to see if he could make the repair for me. We made an appointment for 1:30 (same day) and not only was he on time, but he showed up a few minutes early! He spent about 30 minutes taking a look at my recliner pieces and offered to try and replace the broken parts even though we had no idea if parts were still available in the matching style. He didn't charge for his time today and his estimate to repair each recliner, if the part was available, was reasonable. I found the receipt for my sofa and called to give him what may have been a manufacturer name. He said he had already found a replacement part supplier, gave me the price for the part, and asked if I wanted to move forward with the repair. The repair won't be made until next week, but at this point, I am impressed with his demeanor, promptness, and professionalism. I would recommend Criag to everyone! I will give an update after the repair but I expect it will be satisfactory. read more

Great work! Refinished my great grandfathers hutch perfectly.

We had Craig build us a cover for our BBQ island last summer. Dealing with him was a pleasant experience at the time. However, over the winter, the cover tore due to the wind and rain. We asked to have it repaired under his warranty, which we were then told would cost us $240 to fix. When I called his number this evening to leave a message about the issue, he told me in no uncertain terms to never F*cking bother him again, before hanging up on me. It's a shame that we were treated this way, as I had thought that we had a good relationship, and that I had recommended him to other people. However, based on this latest call, I can no longer recommend his services, and I would caution anyone who has dealings with him to go elsewhere read more

We finally found an artisan to fix the back caning of our dining room chair. I have been looking a long time to get this done, and Craig finished the job in record time and at a great price. It was finished to our satisfaction 2 weeks ahead of time. I will take all my furniture repair needs to him from now on. read more

Craig refinished my antique mahogony chair and added lifts to the back legs. The chair is stunning. I have used Craig before. He is honest, professional, and has the skills to renew or repair my antiques and make them the heirlooms that I cherish. read more

Just had Craig strip and refinish my 1930's era Sears and Roebuck silvertone radio cabinet which had been in my family for generations. The finished product was amazing. Not only did he get it done right but he completed it much faster than I expected. I figured I would leave it there for weeks but he surprised me and had it done in under a week. The price was very fair considering I would have never had the skills to make it look so good. I would definitely use him again! read more
