Instead, I was left with moisture issues in my home that I'm still assessing the severity of, product all over my light fixtures and floors, and garbage (energy drink cans, a half-eaten sandwich left on the counter). They cranked my heating system up so high that the humidity rose in my house to 100%, due in part to the fact that they didn't reopen the vents they had closed while plastering. There was so much moisture in the air that a pool of water formed on the floor protection because it couldn't absorb anymore, and the windows were fogged up in every single room as you can see. On the advice of another contractor, I've already had to purchase a commercial dehumidifier to remediate the issues they've caused and it's barely been 24 hours since I let them go. I fired Paint Bros on the third day of the job, after speaking with Justin on the second day and raising issues to be solved that were not. While I originally appreciated his willingness to refund my initial deposit and his promise to me on the day they cleaned out their equipment that I would not be charged for any additional services, his partner Jake quickly walked this back. He called me from a number that showed up as The Yoga Tree on ID to tell me that they would, actually, be sending me an invoice. He tried to say I am the only unhappy customer they've ever had. I'm perfectly willing to admit that I was irate when he called and didn't handle it well, and that's on me. My New Jersey mouth got the best of me at 8:30 this morning. But, my New Jersey BS detector is still perfectly functional and these guys are more likely to be suppressing bad reviews than delivering quality services every time. I should add, the brown floor covering in these photos was laid by me before they even started because my hardwood floors were recently refinished. Part of the quote I received from them initially clearly breaks out extensive prep, and yet none of it happened. The fact that they couldn't bother to do anything additional says it all. Justin's offer to have a cleaning crew come to my house after they packed up their gear was declined because I just couldn't trust that anything they would do for me, directly or indirectly, would be handled with care. In my experience, they will hide behind the fact that they are a small business and try to gaslight you because, look at their glowing reviews! But I have to wonder... their crews had finished another job early right before mine. Was it because they were so efficient, or did someone else go through what I did as well?

He was a very thoughtful planner, always thinking of little things to make our designs better (ex: "What if we extended the wainscoting around the corner to carry the flow?" and "We should use a larger handle on this cabinet so that it doesn't put stress on the wood.") He ran a tight ship, making sure that his crew cleaned up at the end of the day and organized all of their tools, as we were living in the house during the project and the last thing we wanted was a messy and hazardous area. He looked at the job, gave me an hourly quote and decided to give the work to an employee that never painted cabinets before. To make up for the lack of experience; he micro managed the employee. since the job was based on an hourly rate; the lack of experience ended up costing more money. Once the job was almost done, he sent me an invoice and asked for a check immediately. when I questioned his hours on the invoice; he responded with insults and was very rude. He finally admitted that he charged me an extra two hours because he had to baby sit his employee who lacked experience in painting cabinets and that he also had to get extra supplies. I ended up paying him for an extra hour based on the supply run. He cashed the check and called me the next day with more insults and told me he felt like a robbed him.

We moved into our condo in 2021 and had replaced the old and rotting planks with composite soon…read moreafter we moved in; however, we were most interested in revitalizing the roof deck altogether - the railing and posts were rotted and had peeling paint, and we had minimal privacy when hosting friends and family. After speaking with several contractors, we were fortunate enough to find Leo, who gave the roof deck a complete facelift! We initially hired Leo to update the siding of our top deck and replace the door leading to the bottom deck. During our first consultation meeting with him, he had brainstormed many design concepts and ideas we had not even thought of that we ultimately went with - we highly appreciated the creativity and effort to make our image a reality. He was incredibly communicative, and we really felt like we were working as a team. We ended up having him replace the railing of our upper deck and added a privacy wall with a beautiful design. He handcrafted the railing and involved us in every step of the design process. He also replaced rotting wood that was exposed beneath the siding, fixed a broken outlet, and completely replaced a rotting window frame. He also put in place LED light strips beneath the railing to create a sense of ambience we didn't even realize we were looking for! Leo was always very transparent with the timing of each phase of this project as well as any associated costs. Leo went above and beyond and returned twice after our final payment to add some minor touch ups to ensure the deck was as picture-perfect as can be! We have many upcoming projects in our new home and hope to work with Leo on all of them. We have already begun brainstorming together what we can do with our bottom deck.
