CBD Movers were contracted to move our home contents on 7th December 2024. CBD were meant to arrive between 7am - 9am, they did not arrive until 11am and did not start until 11:45am. When the team finally started they were careless slow and would not listen to any direction. Packing trucks was at less than 65% capacity. At 2pm having worked 2.25 hours the team leader said the team would break for a 30 minute lunch break. Payment was demanded stating nothing would be moved until payment was made. Clause 7 in contract states clearly ' PAYMENT AT COMPLETION OF JOB TO SHASHI INTERNATIONAL PTY LTD. The team never returned stating there were payment issues and that they could not work due to rain. I paid when it was requested ahead of job being completed contrary to contractual obligations. The rainfall in Chifley on 7 December was less than .4ml I have photos and dates. After approx 2 hours back and forth on the phone with CBD Movers they promised to send another crew the next day to complete the move. I specifically requested a different team with dispatch from 7 December but the same team showed up, again demanding payment for service before they would start, I paid 50% of approx day fee or they would not begin. Team worked 2 hours, broke for lunch and never returned again with no notice, stating only that they could not move our larger potted plants and the larger of our household contents. The CBD movers did not fulfil contractual obligation to move us they were rude and demanded payments that were not due. Large potted plants were in original correspondence and they were hired as there is a clear clause in CBD contract stating the following: Non standard Equipment that can be made available, Heavy Duty trolley for pool table/piano. Movers were notified of plants in booking and again on 7 December. We had to secure other movers to finish job and they had no problems with any items. A move that had previously taken one full day of hard work took 3. I lost wages and had to take time off to finish work CBD Movers were contracted to do and were unable and unprofessional enough to complete. The complaints process was a joke they did not care one bit that my money had been taken and the job had not been done.The worst company I have ever dealt with.
