If I could give zero stars for customer service, I would. I am not sure how Dean Ramsdell stays in…read morebusiness with such terrible service. Specifically, I engaged with his company to perform a simple irrigation install and they did not lay the pipe properly in a couple of spots and instead of standing by his work, he sent me an invoice out of the blue months later (probably hoping to forget the conversation we had). His correspondence is rude and extremely unprofessional. I hope this message reaches anyone that is looking to have work done to their yard. In my opinion, Ramsdell could not care any less for their customers. Also, they charge for travel time to work in York and they do not tell you that unless you ask. I found out too late. Dean,
When I called to explain the situation to you on the phone, I specifically requested prior warning if the repair was going to cost me money to be fixed, which did not happen. You assured me that you would take a look and let me know what the situation was before I incurred any cost. You did not. If I had known, I would have engaged within another company. Before calling you, I had a few other people out to the house to take a look and they all agreed that the damage was a result of not laying the pipe deep enough. They also concluded that my lot was still very fresh and soft enough (absolutely no ledge) where this should not have been an issue. Your own employee admitted that it was simple mistake and apologized for the inconvenience. I am so confused why you would contest this.
Lastly, if there were spots that did not lay deep enough, I would have first expected that your company would have noticed that immediately when laying the pipe made the proper correction before proceeding. At a minimum, I would have expected to be notified as such so that I could plan around the spots in question.
For these reasons, I have no intention of paying you for this invoice and I hope you reconsider your position. I paid a premium for you guys to install my irrigation (including travel time which I found out about after the fact) and would have expect for you to stand behind your work. This is a complete disappointment.

Good Morning Ryan,
First of all your account will not be credited and I expect full payment of the repair we did on your irrigation system. When installing pipe, the pipe puller has a blade that slices the ground following its topography.
If there is a rock, ledge, or any other hard object buried it will ride up over it.
If the pipe was installed to high, why was there not damage throughout the whole system.? Perhaps the aerator went to deep in these locations.
Sounds kind of silly doesn't it.
I would expect payment within 14 days. If not we will do what we need to do to collect payment. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

Good Morning,
I am writing to you today in regards to a statement I just received in error. It seems that you inadvertently charged me for a repair done at my property as a result of a mistake made during the installation of my irrigation atXXXXX, York.. We discovered that the lines were not set at the proper depth in a couple of locations and as a result, were damaged when performing a standard aeration procedure. Can you please process a credit for the amount billed on INV#CLIP33047 and all associated finance charges?
Thank you for your help in this matter,
Ryan

Subject: Damage Repair request
Good Afternoon,
I am writing to you to request assistance in getting the damage on my irrigation system repaired. I have also spoke with someone in your office regarding this issue but had agreed to get my balance paid before being able to schedule time with John Jacobs, or another technician. Basically, there are a couple of areas that were damaged by an aeration machine as a result of not being installed deep enough into the spoil. As a result, I am unable to use the 2 zones on my system that are affected by the damage.
Would it be possible to arrange an appointment to have someone come out to repair this damage this upcoming week? I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Ryan
