Well, I came to this pet store because the were the only place with Cocktails that were under 250$…read moreand also "hand fed/raised with in a 120 miles from my house. I put this in quotes because MAYBE the birds were had fed as chicks, but they were DEATHLY afraid of people. I got my baby home and he was so terrified of a hand that he bite me multiple times. (My parents have raised multiple Macaws so I understand bird behavior) I can tell you that these birds, all of which, the store owners said were 6 months and older, have not been handled since they got them. It broke my heart to see these babies so terrified, I wanted to take them all and give them a better life. Also, I was told the only thing they "would" eat was sunflower seeds... which is so not healthy for these growing birds. That's just the birds. I saw two bigger constrictors in the SAME CAGE , that was NOT even big for one snake that size. Most animals in that shop were not for sale, such as the snakes, two different breaded dragons, and many more. What really just hurt my heart and soul was the money, and Ring-tailed Lemur they had... who were locked up in extremely dirty cages, no bigger then a very small kitchen table. The only reason I gave them one star was because they were very nice to me and gave me extra sunflower seeds for free. But all together, I would say PetSmart employees have more knowledge about their animals then this "establishment." My heart is truly broken for the animals that are in that shop.

I thought turtle sales in NC were illegal. Turtles should have access to water to swim in and a dry dock to come out for short periods of time, with proper uva and uvb lighting. When I asked the employee if she was aware these were aquatic turtles she said she knew and when I said they should be in water, she said they mist them. The store had several large aquariums and plastic tubes to display happy turtles in a an appropriate set up but the store apparently could care less about the health of these poor turtles. Turtles should eat in water to help with swallowing. The water bowl they have, appears to have poop in it. I will never step foot in there again.

Everyone is polite and will let you hold, look at , or pet anything you ask about and can answer any questions you have. When buying pets there they can help you get everything you need and give all kinds of information and help about it. Store is organized and pretty neat for the most part and it's simple to find things too if you don't want to ask for help since everything's supply's are put together.

She said her rabbits were perfectly healthy and it was my son's fault for holding him too much. We hold our rabbits all the time! She was very rude and accusitory. She stated "Well I guess I'll have to replace it. But it will be Monday morning because we r about to close." I only live about 10 minutes away and didn't want my son (age 5) to know the bunny had died so I asked if they would wait until I got there and she said no. They were tired and wanted to go home. I had to find an individual on the internet that had some bunnies for sale that looked like the other one. I called the Pet store owner on Monday morning and explained I already purchased another rabbit and was afraid to take another one from her store incase it was ill and would make my other rabbits ill. She was very offended and RUDE RUDE RUDE. She hung the phone up on me. I called back 3 times trying to tell her that I will just take another bunny and keep it seperated. She hung up on me 3 times after accusing me of "killing the rabbit." I will never buy another thing from this pet shop. I warn anyone that potentially wants to purchase anything from here. Things happen with rabbits, reptiles etc. I understand. Even PetSmart offeres a 14 day return policy just in case. No one knows when it comes to these animals. It's not a dog! I have purchased several reptiles and fish from this establishment, as well as feeders for my ball python, and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and health of these animals. I also got my first puppy from LPOE, a little lhasa apso/cocker spaniel mix. She is almost a year old now, and is one the sweetest and most intelligent dogs I have ever interacted with! The staff is very knowledgeable, and will do their absolute best to provide you with any information and solutions that you may need for your pets. There are times when the place can get a little packed, and the hustle and bustle can keep them running around like chickens with their heads cut off. But if you wait patiently, and set aside the whole "me first" mentality, you will be assisted with a smile in a timely manner. I've seen what these people deal with on a daily basis, (feeding, cleaning tanks/cages, stocking supplies, helping unruly customers) and trust me, some of you are lucky they're even willing to help in the first place. So if you can deal with the smell of animals (which is honestly not nearly as bad as some of these reviews make it out to be), an occasional hectic rush, and are willing to be patient and learn a thing or two, the LPOE pet shop is for you.
