Mr Bingo - I've got Dabbin' Fever!

This not your mama's bingo! You don't just buy some bingo sheets (the correct term is "flimsies")…read moreand a dauber and get to stamping. This place is a well oiled machine that has a bit of a learning curve. I played bingo one time with my mom WAY back in the day so I called to get some more info about Mr. Bingo. The outgoing message was super confusing for a novice like me so I knew I'd need to talk to a real person. I got a real person on the phone a couple of days later and the info she gave me still sounded like a foreign language, but I asked a lot of questions and she explained everything. Here's what you need to know if you are interested in going: The big games (program) start at 8:30pm but you can get there early and get a discount on your electronic game boards. (Yes, bingo is electronic! Apparently it's easier to play that way and you are more likely to win.) You can take food in with you if you want and they have fun little $1 games that you can play on paper before the program starts. You can also roll in around 8pm and just buy a flimsy pack for about $8. The program includes 8 games. Most prizes were $300 but the big game that night was $1500. You also have to buy a $1 membership the first time you go but that includes a dauber so it's totally worth it. We finished up our games about 11pm. They do have a concession stand that seems to be pretty reasonably priced. Sodas are $1, snacks are about $3-$6. The first Saturday of each month is actually pretty cheap if you get there before 7pm... I think it was 7. Only $6! My only complaint is that you have to register/checkin in the very large smoking section. The snack area and the bathrooms are also in that area too. The non smoking section is much better but not exactly smoke free. I'm glad they have a smoke free section though. I don't think I'd go back if they didn't have it. That said... While the learning curve was a bit steep (we were total nerds and had to google what somethings meant) and we didn't win one thing - we still had a great time! We are already planning to pick up some dinner and head back on the first Saturday of March. It's a fun way to spend a night out.

Not the greatest experience. To top it off, I guess the owners either believe that it's located in…read moresuch a dangerous neighborhood that they choose to pay a security guard / cop to park outside the front door, or they believe that their customers are dangerous enough to warrant that level of added security. Knowing that, added to the run down look of the building, just made me feel a bit on edge, like I was in danger. Additionally, It was much too loud for me to even focus. I couldn't enjoy myself as I felt like there was a bar brawl going on near me. Also, it was very smoky. Perhaps I just went on the wrong evening, but I think I experienced enough to know that I won't be going back. The facilities and patrons of Cayce Bingo are much more my style. As far as I can tell these are the only two local bingo halls (within a reasonable distance). I only recently moved to the area so perhaps I'll find out about alternatives, but for now, Cayce Bingo definitely has my business.

My Mom and I visited this location yesterday, Saturday, Feb 2nd, 2019 for the first time. I hadn't…read moreplayed Bingo since Elementary School, and I'm 50, so I only know old school straight and diagonal plays. My Mom was clueless as well. We got there about 4:30pm and from the moment we arrived at the Customer Service desk, the employees were offering to help us "learn" how they play the game. We were given a sheet that shows pictures of the various styles of Bingo, so you can know what a winning card should look like. Paper cards were .50 cent or 1 dollar depending on the game. Attendants constantly came by the table to make sure we knew what "color" sheet was being played, and to explain how the "wild number(s) work. I only purchased one sheet each game, and was still confused as ever. Attendants had no problem walking over to our table to assist, even one person saying I forgot wild numbers. Darn, I probably unknowingly won that round! By the way, my Mom was not playing, she was telling me what numbers were popping up on the board, while I searched for them on my one-sheet card. (Yes, we were just that pathetic)! Our Bingo-Life changed at 5:30pm. We got that electronic iBingo machine for 10 dollars, and I thought we had turned "pro" then. You just punch the wild number in, and press "enter" then the subsequent numbers are called. You press each number that's called and press "enter" and the machine fills all the numbers in. Also when new games are started, the machine is reset and ready for the next game. An Attendant came over and said to watch the screen for the next number in the right corner, that would appear, prior to it being called. One mishap though...make sure to get that wild number in the machine at the beginning of each new game. I missed the wild number, and tried to add it later. I puched in "39" cause it was 9's, and it filled in the number 39 on like 60 cards..of course, that was wrong! The attendant came over and had to reset and correct my machine! They must have something in the callers box to alert them about customers embarrassing themselves in public! Me and those wild numbers..(I probably could've won that round as well)! When you're one number away from Bingo, that number on your iBingo machine is displayed in blue, so you can know after that number is called to yell "BINGO." I didn't get to do that yet. But WILL be returning, so hopefully... Sorry the review was SO long, but many are intimidated by trying something new. Customer Service is crucial and that crew at Westside Beach Bingo is AWESOME and really enhanced the place. Since compliments or complaints spread faster via word of mouth, i figured I would pass something good along, as well. Ok, go rest your eyes...

When we arrived there was an elderly lady at the door scanning tickets. She looked confused about what her role was and the line was beginning to back up. We finally sat down to enjoy the night. We were told we had to place a 2 item minimum order from the restaurant/bar menu. You are required to pay up front for your order. With 30 mins left into the show, we/patrons still had not received our food but the owners of the club had a table at the front with their family and friends, all of them at the table had their food. They went back into the kitchen and got it themselves and comes out flaunting it in front of the customers. I found this to be distasteful and down right rude. How dare you eat in front of your paying customers? Then management told everyone that they will get a full refund for the food that was purchased and to give it up to 10 days to process. The show was on August 31st my food bill was $50.68 (8 wings, 8 shrimp, fries, Pepsi). I looked at my credit card statement and on September 3, 2024, I was charged $72.73. What a bunch of crooks. How dare you over charge my card and for food that I did not get. I will be having my Bank reverse this TODAY! Until they get new management or someone better, it will be a while before I step foot into this place.
