In town for a softball tournament and what can I say? A guy has to eat. And judging by my size,…read morethis guy doesn't miss a meal. Always down for a sports bar, even though I'm not a sports guy. Well, I mean, if eating was a sport I would be an Olympic gold medalist. But since it's the off season, I'm eating for pleasure, not business. Pulling up, you can absolutely tell it's a sports bar. A lot of that has to do because it says so on the sign. But even if that wasn't there, you would guess it's genre of restaurant. The inner part of the building, where the cooking and eating take place, also speaks loudly of this restaurants affiliation with sports. One thing that was nice with this place was that the seating is spread out enough to where you don't feel packed in. There's plenty of room for movement without having to stand on a table to let people walk by. As is the custom, I ordered boneless wings as an app. Buffalo flavor. The sauce. not the animal. Came with complimentary ranch I will use and complementary celery I will ignore. The wings were good. Had great flavor and the breading wasn't too thick. I like the taste of chicken in my boneless chicken pieces. Also, as is the custom, I ordered a second app. The pizza puffs. Now, from where I come from, we have several sports bar restaurants that specialize in Pizza Puff Apps™. Therefore, those restaurants are the bar to which these will be measured. That being said, I do feel the outside of these were a little too hard. Almost had a crust. Not ideal. The PPA (Pizza Puff Apps™) I'm used to are like fluffy clouds of dreams. Like puffs are meant to be. Theses missed that mark. The marinara sauce was good and the orange cheese was great. Though they do upcharge for the OC (Orange Cheese). My Main Character Meal™ was the classic fish-n-chips. Cod: 2 pieces. Fries: Crinke. Firstly, the fries. Crinkle cut fries are God tier and I saw Jesus with these. Secondly, the fish was great. Great batter, great flakeyness. The missed the mark with the tartar sauce though. It had a sweet taste, which didn't couple well with the fish taste. Tartar sauce needs to have more of the first part of their name in it. Oh. The southwest ranch for obligatory fry dipping was fantastic. Pizza Puff Apps™: 7/10 Fish part of the fish-n-chips: 10/10 Tartness of tarter sauce: 4/10 Sports bar-ness: 11/10

It was not good AND the owners see fit to charge a premium as if it…read morewere much better food. $12 for a 1/2 order of nachos (boring supermarket tortilla chips) topped with flavorless artificial cheese sauce, poorly seasoned and pre-cooked and then frozen chicken (I can tell from the weird texture), and then sprinkled with ice berg lettuce, sour cream, salsa, small tomato halves, and inconsistently chopped jalapeños. $18 for 9 pieces of shrimp on their shrimp sampler trio. The single star I am forced to give this review is for the fact that those shrimp were cooked PERFECTLY. But they were gross. Each set of 3 were coated in disgusting sauces which sounded good, but were poorly executed. $6 (I think) for a loaded baked potato that was, at best, 1/3 of the way loaded, and not cooked quite as well as I prefer. It was a little hard yet. Bottom line, I left more than 1/2 of everything behind, though I did eat most of the shrimp after wiping off the sauce and peeling off the tainted batter. My Mug root beer was exactly what I expected, so...there's a little something for that single star rating too. The atmosphere is drab, outdated, typical drunks talking too loud at the bar about nothing. My server answered my questions honestly enough, which probably saved me from an even worse experience as her responses deterred me from ordering several items that I know can be hit or miss almost anywhere. The bill came to just shy of $40, and I tipped as generously as I normally would because my server was fine and it wasn't her fault the food sucked. All that and I walked away still hungry.

Food and service was great. Had a perfectly prepared ribeye and a delicious salad with my baked…read morepotato.
