I've been to this location a handful of times and have usually had a good experience, but today was very disappointing. Is Cava becoming the new Chipotle? I ordered online for pickup, and both bowls were very bare. One order was the Grains Bowl with half lentils and half saffron rice. The lentils were undercooked and still hard. The store was busy, but service itself seemed normal. However, the food line area was messy, and the way the food was being scooped and served didn't inspire much confidence. Normally, my regular order is filling enough that I can't finish it in one sitting and usually save some for later. This time, we finished everything easily. The portions felt more like a kids' meal than a regular serving, which was very disappointing. I introduced CAVA to my colleagues and they absolutely loved it! We each built our own bowls and ordered a drink. They have a variety of juices, all incredibly yummy! I got a mixed bowl with grains and salad, topped with chicken and pretty much all of the toppings available! It was a pretty bowl, and a very satisfying one too! i absolutely LOVE cava, but oh man this location wasn't good service. i don't know this workers name but he had curly hair and wore earbuds while taking our order and was just so rude. he was rushing us and looked super pissed off that it was my friends first time at cava, so she was trying to decide what to get. his attitude overall was super off-putting and just plain rude, even gave super small portions compared to literally every other time i've had cava. other than that the food is always incredible and i do recommend eating at cava if you haven't tried it yet. :) read more

I've been to this CAVA location several times now, as it is a quick and convenient lunch spot. I place my order online for pickup, and I have not yet experienced a delayed or missing order. However, the last time I ordered, all of my dips and spreads were missing... I'm keeping my rating 4 stars since usually this doesn't happen, but I am disappointed with this last time. Overall though, I appreciate that CAVA is a quick and healthy option (albeit just a bit salty), that is also affordable. Another thing, usually during the lunch hour the regular line is long and there isn't much seating available. Cava continues to be my favorite and go-to Mediterranean bowl source! If I did a review for every time I came here, I would just have hundreds of Cava reviews in my Yelp account. My current usual is a lentil bowl ($12.05) with tons of free toppings (my favorites are the roasted corn, pita chips, pickled onions, and feta). The online-ordering process is easy (make sure to select dressing on-the-side if you don't want your bowl to get too soggy in transit). My partner loves the saffron basmati rice bowl. We both get the grilled chicken. I have never eaten on-premise. I only order online & come in-person to pickup. My only complaint is that trying to pick up food at weekday dinnertime is horrible. There are never spots in front of the restaurant, and the parking structure is a zoo. It is easier to pickup from the La Jolla location, but that location historically only gave me tiny bits of chicken so I stopped going. read more

My wife and I love Cava. We primarily go to the Temecula location and have loved it every time we go. We decided to go to this Cava location at One Paseo in San Diego, Ca. Unfortunately our experience was sub-par to say the least. Upon arrival, we were the only patrons in the place, but it took a few minutes for anyone to assist us. The young man who helped my wife seemed very annoyed to be there and wasn't very pleasant or welcoming. While going through and making our plates the chicken and Skhug sauce were out and the yogurt dill was extremely watered down and almost disappeared into the bowl as soon as it was put on. All in all, I will not be coming to this location again. Maybe we are spoiled by the amazing staff at our Temecula location. I will preface by saying I've been to other Cavas and I love their bowls! I ordered a chicken rice bowl for pickup and the process was fast and easy. However, when I went to eat the bowl, the brown rice was severely undercooked, to the point where a lot of the grains were really hard and hurt to eat. This is the only time I've ordered from this location so I'm not sure if this is just a bad rice day for them but I'll be choosing a different carb if I ever end up ordering from this location again read more

I love Cava and was excited to go here for a little family dinner. The food here was delicious as usual. However the place was not kept up well and was a little dirty. The bathroom was very filthy and almost made me lose my appetite. The drink station looked like it wasn't cleaned for a while. The pita warmer looked worn and somewhat crusty on the outside. I was surprised because the locations that I've visited are usually well put together. However the food was still delicious. So it wasn't a bad experience all together. It was hard to pick my food up because the parking situation. I parked illegally and ran inside. I didn't get to really look around but it reminded me of a chipotle for Mediterranean food. My food was on a shelf waiting for me. I grabbed it and poured my cucumber mint lemonade on the way out. That was so tasty and refreshing. My only issue with the food here there weren't any portions of it that was hot-not even the falafel. All the components were tasty. I just thought it was a little too saucy. My family and I love Cava but this location could use some improvement during the weekday lunch rush. Portion size is always inconsistent and lines of people queue up by the waiting area for online and delivery service orders. Last time I was there, people waiting for their food were getting clearly frustrated by the process. Parking is good but can get busy during lunchtime as it is in a busy area. One recommendation if not doing a group order- you'll get in and out faster and probably get a better portion size if ordering at the register. read more

If you don't need to order online, DON'T DO IT. They are so frugal it seems like, especially if it is later half in the night. I ordered a half rice half greens bowl and tell me why I got 4-5 pieces of romaine in the entire bowl? The entire bowl was only half full when all the toppings were usually smushed at the top from the lid. That is what is expected here. Maybe when you order it in person they tend to give you more and when you're not there to order it, they give you as little as possible?? I know they were not out of food because my bowl was picked up by a friend who ordered their bowl in person and the difference was very obvious. Their bowl was packed to the top and mine... was not. The quick service restaurant is severely understaffed and you can always expect a line around half the restaurant that's going to take at least 10 minutes. I showed the manager (Omar) the bowls looked empty and he said that is what they are supposed to look, he was rude and didn't even take responsibility or offer to make them right so I asked for a refund.
