First time trying CAVA and I was not disappointed! I love all of the fresh ingredients and sauces that they use. Literally the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. Such a big fan of this place. I would eat here every week if I could but I don't live in SoCal. :( CAVA please open up a location in the Bay Area I'm begging you!!! read more

Daisy, Malina, Shach helped me this morning. The service was so efficient and friendly and the food was just as good!

Chris And shachi did an awesome job serving us today. I would highly recommend the food here! It's so flavorful and the service is fast!

My team and I frequent this place for lunch at least a few times a month, and as much as I love their food, I do have to say the portion size for their salads is terrible. I have never been to a place that consistently gives you twice as many toppings compared to the green base. I feel like I don't even get a cup of greens in their salads, even if I modify the order, or order as is, it's always been a pretty sad portion. And their online ordering has no option to leave additional comments, to ask otherwise. I also have had my to go orders taken from this specific location, and had to wait for my food to be re-made several times. Not impressed with their staffing, and upper management could do better on making sure they have enough hands on deck to accommodate such a busy location. read more

My boyfriend and I just watched Freddie bust out 20+ orders by himself in the dining room and get scolded by a door dasher (the dasher was totally in the wrong) without losing his cool. He was friendly and accommodating despite being bombarded with work. Food was great but service was excellent! Kudos to Freddie for best service ! read more

Staff was very rude and kitchen was so dirty, honestly disgusting that the food was all over... i should have taken a pictures of the kitchen. I go to cava very very often and this specific locations is so dirty. I decided to try the steak for the first time so I paid $3.50 more for it and it was dry and cold. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but this specific location has let me down time and time again. Dirty, rude, and gross. read more

This was my first time trying Cava so I didn't know what to really expect. I really enjoyed it. It's like a Chipotle but for Mediterranean food. They have tons of options and toppings for customizing your bowl, salad, or pita. I got a greens and grains bowl with chicken and tons of toppings. You can't go wrong with whatever you get here! read more

yesterday around 6:15 6/20/2026 I went in store to order , the guy on torilla (serving rice ) , was super nice very attentive , but when I went to get my salsa & rung up the 2 young men were very rude , the cashier (looked like 22 & Asian ) was so rude literally started closing my bowl before I was even done telling him what sauce I wanted , gave me the ugliest face & was so rude , shouldn't be working in front of the house if your gonna be a a*** read more

It tasted healthy, I will give you that. But the spicy chicken wrapped in pita. I did not care for it. It was a mish mash of too much of everything from sauce to onion and I had no clue what the heck I was shoving into my mouth after several bites. I admit. This place is just not for me, I guess. I will give 4 stars and move on, cuz I think the reason I could not enjoy this place was due to my lack of understanding of the Mediterranean cuisine. read more

Finally I got to eat here, I had my eye on this restaurant.Whenever we visited that complex their working hours didn't matched. I took avocado lentil bowl with saffron basmati rice. Their falafels are really good, very soft and crispy. They have good options for humus and toppings. Lastly we ordered pita chips and we love it. read more

This place is amazing, excellent food and service. This being my first time I wasn't sure wha to order. CJ and his team made sure to make me feel comfortable and not rushed despite the fact that the line behind was about six people deep. Also, I wanted the falafel and since the place was closing (and they are still packed) CJ made sure to make me a fresh batch of falafel for my sandwich. I'm definitely coming back here again. read more

really wanted to give this place a like and went a couple times but I've only encountered impatient and rude workers which always ruin the experience especially if you're someone who's new and asking for recommendations and such. It's probably because all the workers are teens so they don't really care about customer service. the food is alright so not worth the pain with having to deal with the workers lol and tables are always dirty when we come so there's nowhere to sit. Other cavas locations are probably better but it's just unfortunate this location kinda stinks read more

This location is often out of toppings and it is not reflected in online ordering. Multiple times I have had my order missing items or when I order I am told they are out of multiple toppings and I can request a refund online while I have wasted my time driving to pick up an order that was either wrong or did not have anything I ordered. Try a different location. read more

Poor customer service IMHO. Checked this new place out and was excited after reading the reviews. Food was good so they get 4 stars for that. The service here was sub-par, so they get 1 star for that. I ordered the HARISSA AVOCADO, but they charged me for something else and then after I had paid they wanted additional money for the avocado that was supposed to be in the order. It was busy, so I just paid it and left. Management needs to address the staff's lack of customer service. Great food alone does not make for a good dining experience. read more

Cava is a great mediterranean lunch or dinner with so many options to choose from. You are able to customize your meal exactly how you want it from base, to protein, to toppings, to sauces. The line can get long, but that's because everyone loves the food. Store is kept very clean and fresh. Great place to eat or get food to go! read more

Really enjoyed the food and the place was clean and tidy. The staff was great and I'll be back.

I love this place! I always go here if I am hungry and want to feel healthy, but also not spend too much. The food here is very good, but I will say the supply of food is inconsistent. There has been multiple times where I have came, but the sauces were out, the toppings were out, protein were out, etc. I was disappointed those few times, but when everything is stocked, there's plenty of variety to choose from. Especially since the toppings are unlimited, you get a pretty big portion for a good price which I really like. You should definitely try this out! As for the customer service, there were few times where I felt like I was being rushed, they were impatient with me, and did not seem like they were happy at all. They seem like they struggle under pressure and give off an attitude. It is something I could look past for sure, but would not be pleased with if it happens each time I go. Highly recommend checking out the food, but this location specifically I've always had difficulties with the stock of items and customer service. read more

The lemon chicken bowl was amazing, highly recommend trying the food here. However, the employees here are consistently rude. I've been here twice and both times I've been speechless at how I've been treated. Both times the workers serving us had the most disrespectful look on their face, tone of voice, and would flat out ignore us if they felt like it. The first time the workers turned the lights off on us since they were a few minutes away from closing. There was us & a few other couples there and we all left speechless. I came back with my coworkers during lunch hour on a Wednesday and one person in particular was even worse. They had initially asked for more time to get the store set up since they were running late, so we stepped out and gave them the time they needed. Once the 6 of us saw it was 11:30, we went in. Since they were still getting ready I politely asked if they were ready for us & they ignored me. Once I asked again the person looked at me & said 'what do you want' with a rude and straight faced stare. The person serving us also yelled at one of my coworkers for taking too long to answer. I get it, working in this area really sucks due to the entitled clientele around here. However, if someone has treated you with nothing but respect and patience, then that is expected in return. Ive heard the mission valley location is much better and I will not be coming back to this one. I've had better experiences at McDonalds. read more

Wow, we love this eatery! Came by for dinner after a movie and wanted to eat something healthy after having popcorn. This was perfect! Besides all the healthy options to eat and drink, Cava is super clean and organized. We appreciate the earth-friendly straws, bowls and forks n spoons, etc. That's a plus. The food was really fresh. Didn't look nasty from sitting out. When I asked for the roasted eggplant, the container was almost empty. But they easily grabbed another fresh container full of it ready to go. All the produce looked good, colorful,... Even the proteins. Although I would say the lamb meatball was just a bit dry, though it tasted good. The braised lamb was perfect. Yes, I think I overloaded my bowl as it was all new to me and everything looked good! You'll just have to see the pics. (You also have to bear in mind some of the ingredients cost extra so it can add up. The server was good to mention whenever I chose something that cost extra.) Some of my favorites were the lemon herb tahini dressing, the roasted corn, the kalamata olives, the avocados, roasted eggplant... and heck, just everything mixed together was so yum! We both got fountain drinks. The cucumber mint juice was refreshing and paired well with my salad. I was going to also try the other juices but I was too full. Will have to come back. I just wish there was a Cava in the East County. I would eat here often! read more

I got *violent* food poisoning from this location. It literally turned into one of the worst nights of my life, it was that bad. Still reeling. Additionally I think it is a damn shame that they have a discount for PD & fire that then excludes EMTs, but now with this experience I will never, EVER, go back regardless of that. I've had subpar experiences with staff at this location and I guess I'm not surprised that powerful bacteria can brew under its operation. Never again. read more

I had a major Cava craving so stopping by was a must for a quick healthy bite. I came in behind a group of students and was impressed how quickly and efficiently the staff helped every guest. Honestly, you can't beat the reasonable prices and overall great atmosphere here. Shout out to the General Manager Savannah, I wanted to try something different this time and she was more than accommodating in helping me decide what items to choose while also considering my dietary restrictions. I had a great experience at this Cava location a few months prior, but my visit yesterday fell short. There was something off with my bowl - I kept tasting something crunchy but I wasn't sure why? For the base, I got a mix of romaine and lentils and for protein, I got a mix of falafel and sweet potatoes. Unfortunately, more than half of my lentils and sweet potatoes were raw/undercooked. The lentils were mixed throughout the bowl and made it difficult to continue eating :( I asked if I could get a new bowl, but the cashier said I couldn't since I had already started eating my bowl.. she also agreed that the potatoes were sometimes not cooked well which is concerning?? In the end, I asked for more falafel to replace the potato and she was able to give me more falafel as well as more potatoes that were cooked through better. However, I would've preferred getting a new bowl instead since I couldn't get myself to finish my bowl with the uncooked lentils everywhere. read more

Cava is a nice and affordable option for a meal! I usually build my own bowl and the amount given is pretty nice. Their fountain drinks are also really good and not too sweet! It's my favorite place in the area to go as a treat after a hard week with minimal guilt. The food always tastes super fresh and pretty much everything they have is full of flavor and soooo delicious! My favorite dips are the roasted eggplant dip and the red pepper hummus. As for dressings, I'm obsessed with the skhug and garlic dressing. There are a ton of tables both inside and outside so seating isn't too much of an issue. Tables usually aren't that clean, but that may be because it always seems to be busy. Service is also okay, some people have been rude but others have been a bit nicer. I'd also order in person rather than online; the first time I scheduled an order, we picked it up at the scheduled time and our food was cold. The second time, my sauce wasn't capped and it ended up spilling all over the bottom of the bag and the items. :/ read more

Totally agree with all the other one star reviews. This place is a pigsty. After I bought my bowl, I regretted it. All I wanted to do was throw it in the trash. I was so nervous I would get sick from it. There was food everywhere, and it made you think if their outside counter looks like this, I don't want to know what their inside kitchen looks like. There's also trash everywhere, and it's spilling out of all the trash cans. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, cuz you might also feel obligated to pay for it even though you are completely disgusted. Normally I love cava. I even went to the grand opening of the one in our city. Just don't go to the La Jolla one. read more

I hate to come on here and write a 1 star review but after my last visit I feel compelled to do so. Firstly, this location is definitely lacking. I'm not sure if they are understaffed or what by they are always out of items and everything is so messy (mainly the food preparation area). They also do not do a good job of managing the line (ie. If you're waiting for a protein refill from the kitchen to finish an order let other people skip ahead who can). Aside from the lack of customer service and cleanliness at this location- my other main issue is with CAVA in general. It is such a great concept but I'm my opinion poorly executed. The portion sizes are WAY TOO BIG and the food doesn't keep well enough to split it into 2 meals. And when you mix everything together it becomes a cold soppy mess that is so unappetizing. I've tried to get the pita thinking it's a smaller portion but the execution of that is thoroughly lacking as well. When you add sauce or get a fatty meat like the lamb the pita absorbs the liquid and becomes a cold soppy mess. And don't even get me started on the menu. The lists are so small I can barely read them without my glasses. I am 36 years old and my vision is not that bad. I suggest you think of older people who can't see worse than me and who would be confused AF trying to order food. And don't even get me started about how much pressure I feel when I am not ordering fast enough (multiple locations). Thanks CAVA but I won't be back. read more

Cava is always delicious but it's a waste of money to order online. I just picked up my order and they forgot the rice in the greens and grains bowl and it had about 5 pieces of chicken. The bowl is only about 2/3rds full as well. For the price, it's disappointing that every time I get the food online it's barely filled and to be missing an entire base is wild. read more

CAVA - Custom bowl - Mediterranean Near Me - La Jolla, California

Good to great. This place was unexpected and perhaps they may not appreciate this comparison but it's sort of like the Mediterranean equivalent to Chipolte but in all the good ways. You walk up, decide if you want a salad, bowl, or pita and then select your ingredients and the options felt endless, whether you're vegetarian, vegan or a meat eater, there were many options, it felt filling but also healthy and there was also a vast ice tea bar. I'll definitely go back. I can't wait to try the different combinations. I loved the flavors of the bowl I selected. The only downside if there is one is that parking isn't easy and it gets crowded quickly. I hope this place is a success and sticks around. You can order ahead of time which might be beneficial during peak times. Their fried pita bread/chips were also a great side I wouldn't hesitate recommending to friends or patrons. read more

Okay I CANNOT believe that I have been living in La Jolla for 4+ years and have never been here before now. So many wasted weeks of sad dinners that could have been amazing if I just came here. Cava is basically chipotle for Mediterranean food, and all the options tasted super fresh and amazing. I loved the tiny pita bread you can ask for on the side of your plate, it's the perfect vehicle for the perfect harmony of your food. You can get either salad or rice as your base, and I did half and half and both were great. I would highly recommend checking cava out for a quick default takeout place! read more

CAVA is hands down my favorite mediterranean spot. It's basically chipotle but for mediterranean food and i love that we have the option to build your own bowl. I always start my bowl with red pepper hummus, harissa, and tzatziki dips and get turkey meatballs for my protein. They offer so many toppings here so I always load up my bowl with them and top it off with the lemon herb tahini dressing and tahini caeser which are so creamy and flavorful. Also they give a free side of pita bread with your order! It's definitely one of my favorite spots in San Diego and I wish there was one in the bay because i crave it when I'm not in socal. It's by far the superior Mediterranean take out restaurant and overall a 10/10 experience every time. read more
