Chicken and rice bowl
Chris S.

Located on Parkside Drive in the busy Turkey Creek area, it is not hard to find. There is ample parking as it is located in the corner store. There is parking along one side adjacent to the building and the other side has parking across a traffic lane. There were some handicapped parking spaces adjacent to the building but a bit of a walk from the door. This is not the fault of the restaurant. Walking in, the place is bright and minimalist/ industrial decorated. The preparation counter is to the right with a large menu above on the wall behind. The workers were all pleasant and helpful in assisting my dining partner and I to make our selections. They then assembled our orders and we had our food in just a few minutes. The Spicy chicken and Avocado bowl was good. The chicken was well prepared and the avocado slices were fresh. The spicy sauce was sort of splattered on the side of the bowl. I saw it happen and it was just from the sauce container being near empty, but it would have been nice if the worker would have wiped the sides of the bowl before handing it to me. The Chicken and Rice bowl was a simple but flavorful dish. The chicken was well prepared and all ingredients tasted fresh. This was a convenience selection we made due to the traffic, and it turned out to be a good one. I would certainly stop in again when in the area.

If you are looking for a healthy Mediterranean "fast-food", this is the spot. It is like Chipotle but Mediterranean and I didn't know it is a chain restaurant until now! I ordered Crispy Falafel and everything was fresh and organic - it includes hummus, roasted eggplant, pickles, cabbage slaw, tomato + onion. Served with creamy garlic dressing and spicy skhug(hot pepper, garlic, coriander sauce - so good). Place was packed on a Tuesday after 3-4pm, but the line went fast. Inside is bright & spacious. Plenty of seating inside and outside. All the ingredients listed in food descriptions and everything is prepared in front of customers. We need this place in St.Louis, MO ASAP please!

Wow I'd never heard of this place and decided rather than the place next door that is east I'd try something new. I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken pita, it definitely has a quick but it's a good kick. It was filled with lots of flavor and I can't wait to find another one to try more items. Might do a bowl next time. Oh and the pita chips wowza so amazing. Definitely need like hummus to go with them.

My bowl of food - hardly worth $11.32.

After reading the reviews, I expected a bit more from CAVA than what I purchased for $15.15. I built my own bowl beginning with a small spoonful of lentils, tzatziki and red hummus, honey chicken topped with tomatoes and cucumber and kalamata olives. I ended with lemon tahini dressing. And I accompanied my meal with a small Mexican style diet cola, which was the highlight of my culinary experience as it was most unusual tasting, sweeter and "milder" than most diets. All that filled only half the bowl, certainly not worth the $10.17 plus the extra $1.15 for the Harissa honey chicken. Thus - overpriced for what I received. The various offerings were flavorful, yet several pieces of the chicken were burned and dry and most pieces lacked tenderness. So I walked away still hungry and disappointed.

CAVA is a really unique concept. They feature a diverse range of Mediterranean-style meals that you can create quickly. It's like the Chipotle or Subway assembly line method. You start with a base (saffron rice, grains, lettuce, or pita), choose up to three dips/spreads, a protein (harissa honey chicken, lamb, falafel, roasted veggies), and toppings. For the food adventurers, the epicureans, and those who are health conscious, CAVA ought to be on your list. I really enjoyed the harissa honey chicken, eggplant dip, and toppings. You can get avocado, Mediterranean pickles, tomato/cucumber, and so much more. They also have an app an rewards program. So, you can order online for pickup and earn rewards. Overall: This is a great option in Turkey Creek. Excellent quick service option with a lot of variety. Highly recommended!!

Stopped by here after a ladies day out with friends getting pampered in the area. I was guided by the ladies making my bowl and was advised to make whatever I wanted. Pure deliciousness! Veggies galore with a bit of rice and meats. Look at that bowl... see for yourself! We sat outside at the patio area in the sun on a beautiful day. Their self serve juices topped it off perfectly.

Finally, a restaurant downtown that's not insanely loud. Loved the fact they had booths all around…read morethe outside of the room. Made it much easier to have a conversation. Also loved the fact there was a mocktail flight. As a sober couple this is huge for us. Portions were good sized and although a bit pricey, we'd come back and make a dinner out of like 3 apps.

This place needs to do better. I searched what places in East Tennessee sell grilled octopus and…read morethis place pops up. So of course I naturally look at reviews and pictures and people posted pictures with two or three good size pieces of octopus. I figure perfect, it looks delicious I'm gonna order. So I ordered the grilled octopus and also the tzatziki. My total was about $35. I get to my car and I look in the bag and instantly think "WTF are you kidding me?" What I got was a complete and utter joke. I had asked for veggies instead of the potatoes and I get what is shown in the picture a couple teeny tiny carrots and radishes and I'm kind of laughing as I eat them because I'm thinking damn... Each of these cost me a dollar so I better actually eat them. I look at how tiny my portion of food is and I think wow I wonder if I would've actually sat in the restaurant if it would've looked anything like the picture or if I would've got a decent size instead of this teeny tiny little container. The octopus was overcooked, it was tough and hard to chew. All they did was put it on the grill it had the char flavor but that was it no other flavor. Definitely would not recommend this place.

A couple years ago we had KoPita on a food tour and really enjoyed it, so we decided to make a…read morereservation for Valentine's Day. When we made a reservation on the website there was no mention of a pre fixe menu. Not on the website, and not with the reservation. We went intending to get light appetizers, but when we arrived we were told that the only option was a 55 dollar per person menu. While we were annoyed by the bait and switch we decided to stay because there was no chance of getting a table anywhere else. I'll start by saying that I Know that Valentine's Day is historically very busy, but over half the tables in the restaurant were empty, and I've been in significantly busier environments where I still received a high level of service. In this instance, saying that we were dismissed by the staff was an understatement. My wife was sat while I was parking, and when I joined her I wasn't even acknowledged by the staff. We asked one question the server who was dropping off the food snapped at us and acted extremely irritated that we even addressed her while she dropped the food off. We asked for tea because we knew that was one of their specialties. The response that was snapped back was "no tea tonight, if you want drinks go pay at the bar, it's separate." The table beside us seemed to clearly be VIPs as the were in fact served several pots of tea. All in all the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience and they didn't want us to be in the restaurant. The exception was a very nice server wearing a light colored dress, she was very kind, which only made everyone else's disdain all the more evident by contrast. The food itself was just ok. Course 1: salads, it had fruit and fresh vegetables. It was excellent. Course 2: zucchini and eggplant with beef. It was well cooked but the sauce was extremely bland. Course 3: chicken stuffed with liver. This was gross, not even edible. Course 4: leg of lamb with rice. Once again the meat was well prepared, but it here was almost no seasoning. The rice that came with it was undercooked and kinda tough. Course 5: It was listed as braised beef brisket, but it was just an unseasoned pot roast. I expected Mediterranean food to be presented with a significantly more interesting range of flavor profiles. Course 6: Baklava, really great! The layers were crisp and the flavor was smooth. All that to say, it wasn't anywhere near worth the cost, I went for a light dinner and only had the option of buying a heavy 6 course menu. Other tables were given service and we were treated as an annoyance. The location was very convenient, so they have that going for them... which is nice.
