What a breath of fresh air! Did not intend on going to CAVA... had planned on Chipotle. However after having a horrible experience at Chipotle, we left and went to CAVA instead. So glad we did! Located on Parkside Drive in the busy Turkey Creek area, it is not hard to find. There is ample parking as it is located in the corner store. There is parking along one side adjacent to the building and the other side has parking across a traffic lane. There were some handicapped parking spaces adjacent to the building but a bit of a walk from the door. This is not the fault of the restaurant. Walking in, the place is bright and minimalist/ industrial decorated. The preparation counter is to the right with a large menu above on the wall behind. The workers were all pleasant and helpful in assisting my dining partner and I to make our selections. They then assembled our orders and we had our food in just a few minutes. The Spicy chicken and Avocado bowl was good. The chicken was well prepared and the avocado slices were fresh. The spicy sauce was sort of splattered on the side of the bowl. I saw it happen and it was just from the sauce container being near empty, but it would have been nice if the worker would have wiped the sides of the bowl before handing it to me. The Chicken and Rice bowl was a simple but flavorful dish. The chicken was well prepared and all ingredients tasted fresh. This was a convenience selection we made due to the traffic, and it turned out to be a good one. I would certainly stop in again when in the area. read more

Waited, along with others, 20 minutes past the promised time while orders piled up in the pass through and staff working the line did everything but put them on the shelf, even after we asked and stood there endlessly. The one person who would even acknowledge us would get one order and give it to someone waiting, then do mindless things like restock the line while we waited. My order and others sat there the whole time while they did everything but help us. It was not a kitchen backup issue. They need to work on customer service or get more staff to handle lunchtime if the current staff doesn't want to help people who ordered in the app. What a frustrating experience! read more

If you are looking for a healthy Mediterranean "fast-food", this is the spot. It is like Chipotle but Mediterranean and I didn't know it is a chain restaurant until now! I ordered Crispy Falafel and everything was fresh and organic - it includes hummus, roasted eggplant, pickles, cabbage slaw, tomato + onion. Served with creamy garlic dressing and spicy skhug(hot pepper, garlic, coriander sauce - so good). Place was packed on a Tuesday after 3-4pm, but the line went fast. Inside is bright & spacious. Plenty of seating inside and outside. All the ingredients listed in food descriptions and everything is prepared in front of customers. We need this place in St.Louis, MO ASAP please! read more

I finally got a chance to try Cava, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! As someone who loves Mediterranean food, I was nervous to give this place a shot as I have been let down so many times before. Thankfully this was not the place. The store is very similar to most fast casual chains, where you walk in, choose you main, and build it as you move down the line. You have the choice of base, protein, toppings, etc... The line moved fast while we were there, and even though we came in 30 minutes before close, we were treated with warm smiles. I got a split bowl, so it was half grains and half salad. The basmati rice was good, and the splendid green blend was very fresh. On my bowl, I got chicken, crazy feta, roasted red pepper hummus, tomatoes/cucumbers, pickled onions, corn, and the balsamic date dressing. I also got a side of falafel (which was so good and so much better than most other falafel I have found in Alabama). I really enjoyed my meal! It was filling but did not leave me stuffed. My only complaint would be the red pepper hummus. I thought it had no flavor, meaning I will not be getting it again as it did not add anything to the bowl. Other than that, I will be back (especially for that crazy feta). My meal cost $15, which is pretty standard in my opinion for a bowl like that, especially when you factor in my side of falafel, which is a protein option. If you want something healthy, fresh, but still very tasty and do not have much time, I highly recommend Cava. read more

Wow I'd never heard of this place and decided rather than the place next door that is east I'd try something new. I ordered the sweet and spicy chicken pita, it definitely has a quick but it's a good kick. It was filled with lots of flavor and I can't wait to find another one to try more items. After reading the reviews, I expected a bit more from CAVA than what I purchased for $15.15. I built my own bowl beginning with a small spoonful of lentils, tzatziki and red hummus, honey chicken topped with tomatoes and cucumber and kalamata olives. I ended with lemon tahini dressing. And I accompanied my meal with a small Mexican style diet cola, which was the highlight of my culinary experience as it was most unusual tasting, sweeter and "milder" than most diets. All that filled only half the bowl, certainly not worth the $10.17 plus the extra $1.15 for the Harissa honey chicken. Thus - overpriced for what I received. The various offerings were flavorful, yet several pieces of the chicken were burned and dry and most pieces lacked tenderness. So I walked away still hungry and disappointed. read more

You start with a base (saffron rice, grains, lettuce, or pita), choose up to three dips/spreads, a protein (harissa honey chicken, lamb, falafel, roasted veggies), and toppings. For the food adventurers, the epicureans, and those who are health conscious, CAVA ought to be on your list. I really enjoyed the harissa honey chicken, eggplant dip, and toppings. You can get avocado, Mediterranean pickles, tomato/cucumber, and so much more. They also have an app an rewards program. So, you can order online for pickup and earn rewards. A really bad dining experience and a low quality food experience. As a 73 year old, this didn't live up to the 'over the top' expectations. Service wasn't awful but what's the point when the place was rustling like a livestock and with such little people 0/10 for ambiance . It was really average. Not horrible, but not great. The salads were drenched in the offered sauces. If I could have asked (on the site) if they could put dressing on the side, I'd have chosen that option. So for a salad priced over $10 bucks.. Nah. Lastly, I've been enjoying falafels for years. The version I ordered wasn't horrible, but again, really over sauced, salty, and the falafel was mushy with no crunchy texture. To repeat, it's not a horrible restaurant (and you may love the place) but personally, I won't be returning any time soon. In closing, pleas keep in mind, this is only one persons opinion. read more

A dear friend had a birthday, we decided to celebrate at the new Cava, for our first ever visit. Not sure we will be back. We arrived at 1 pm, on a Thursday, there was no one in line. 1) As I was explaining my food allergy the staff seemed dumbfounded. Had they never dealt with any people having allergies? I asked for the ingredients list for what I wanted to order and though it was reluctantly brought out, I just about had to pry it out of the guy's hands to see for myself if the one ingredient I'm allergic to was in there. It seemed the staff was more worried about a line forming (2 people) than they were to help me. My friend even said "she is serious here, this may mean an ambulance in front of your business. She is being very patient with you all." They then took her order. And I was working on my order. As I looked at the condiment bar I saw where there could be cross contamination so I had to avoid some things, which isn't a big deal for me, been doing it most of my life. I was very surprised to see a very minimal amount of condiments that I could have, and was surprised at so few choices for anyone over all. One bright spot was a cook in the window (who was actually listening) caught that one item for my wrap could not be added and called it out to to the person making my food. 2). Even though they did not seem short staffed the dining room was a royal dirty mess! About half the tables were in use, the other half had not been cleaned in a very long time! The floor under one table looked like a whole wrap exploded! My friend and I had to clean our table in order to sit and eat. Several other people did the same. 3) I walked up to have the nice guy on the register to open my bottle of soda. I mentioned that someone needed to attend to the tables. Another guy came out brushed off ONE table onto the floor with his bare hand and walked back into the back. Blew my mind! 4) my friend and I had not seen each other in forever and our lunch lasted about 90+ minutes and the dining room never got cleaned. 5) Cava bought out Zoey's, which used to be there, not impressed at all with the change. Cava opened about a week ago and I completely understand that they're still trying to figure things out. I ordered through the app and being almost 10 mins away, I expected my food to be ready soon after my arrival given the 15 min pickup time windows. It took about 15 mins just to get my bag handed to me while I looked at people arriving and ordering in line getting their food on the spot. That doesn't make sense. They have people up front serving them while my mobile order was handed to me from the back kitchen. So shouldn't they have an assembly line setup? They apologized to me and mentioned their printer ticketing system is wonky currently so I truly hope they work out a proper system to get mobile orders out just as fast. Fair warning to those who want to go for their lunch breaks. Otherwise, super flavorful food that is healthy and just amazing! Every bite literally has such great flavor and the ingredients are so fresh. read more

This is a Mediterranean fast casual restaurant that offers salad, bowls and pita. This is not like Zoe's and are replaced with Cavas. The menu is basic and easy to remember. Start with a base, chose a spread/dip and protein. They also have fresh juices. The employees are very nice and has customer service. Those closest thing to compare it to is a much healthier and fresher chipotle. The only flaw is also the best thing about the restaurant. The choices and menu are basic. This is a bright open restaurant with limited seating, so we were happy that we had decided to go at 11:30am, which was just barely ahead of the lunch crowd. And I do mean 'crowd'! By the time we went through the line and received our orders, the line was almost out the door. And the line was steady for the next 45 minutes that we were there. That alone speaks volumes about this place! Cava needs to borrow the advertisement line of "all we ask is that you let us serve it your way " because you literally go through line and choose whatever you want in your order. The employees are happy to 'add a little more' or 'just a dab of that'. The food was fresh, packed with nutrition and delicious. Did I mention how clean this place is??
