I'm writing this about the sit-down location inside Foothills Mall in Maryville. I've been 3 times now and loved EVERYTHING. The Egyptian burger was a great treat, but all of their more typical Egyptian dishes were great too It's in a mall so its just counter service, and n alcohol. I think that's really the only reason I gave 4 stars, and I debated that....since you should just a place on what it IS, not what you wish it could be, I guess. The FOOD IS EXCELLENT! read more

Holy crap! I hope u r not sleeping on Egyptian food. My family and I walked n here in a lark. We thought, we love Indian and Mediterranean, so maybe Egyptian will b good. The Egyptian Taste surpassed every expectation!! The chicken shish kebabs, the fries, the hummus, and the nuances were easily the best we ever had! The employees were super helpful and kind. I noticed The Egyptian Taste as an option on DoorDash and decided to give it a try. We ordered the mixed grill, kofta over rice, chicken shawrma, and stuffed grape leaves. Everything was great. I really liked the flavor and spices used on the meats. It was perfectly seasoned and not overly salty. Some of the best Mediterranean food in town. Also, the grape leaves were pretty good. Those are sometimes " hit or miss" at other places. But, I found these to be really tasty. Overall: I'm impressed. I plan to go there or order via Ubereats/doordash again. Very good! read more

We got takeout from the location at Foothills Mall in Maryville. Since we got takeout, I didn't notice about drink selections, but I'd be surprised if they have alcohol. But the food is wonderful. We tried four different entrées, all of us were stuffed and happily so, and we didn't touch yet either of the two desserts we ordered, but I know they are delicious because we had samples in the Store. We had a couple of the kebab style dishes, we had the one rice entrée, and we had the one that's kind of like lasagna. Everything delicious. I have mixed feelings about giving it only four stars. But for a sit-down place, it's a little basic so for that reason alone I think four stars is a truer rating than five stars. read more

Service was great the guy running the trucker helped me and my fired figure out what we wanted to order. We didn't know to much about Egyptian food he helped educate us and pick something we like. My husband and I were eager to try this place due to the reviews. We were not disappointed! The service was delightful, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was fine. It's a small food truck park with 4 food trucks (all of them look delicious!) with 3-4 picnic tables to eat at. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich. It was DELICIOUS!!! It was also very large! Easily sharable. My husband got the meat pie (not what it's called on the menu). This would be good to share. We also got the hummus which was really good! Humus lacked taste but the chicken kabob wasn't bad. Lamb kabob wasn't that good but the bed of rice was ok.

Great authentic Egyptian food! You should definitely try if you like middle eastern/ Mediterranean. This was just like my family from Cairo would make. We had the grape leaves and bashmal (basically an oven baked pasta+meat casserole with a béchamel crust- highly recommend for anyone new to Egyptian food). These were better than I can make myself! I also like how they put the béchamel in small tins so you could reheat in the oven if you want. We also had the kofta with rice (my favorite rice so far) and the tahini was fantastic. Definitely bringing my Egyptian family and non-Egyptian friends so they can try real Egyptian food when they visit. Really easy to get to through the TJ maxx lot. read more

We didn't like the food. It's probably not that it's bad, just not our palates idea of good flavor.

The food was good but seemed milder in flavor than I expected. I'm not sure if that's how Egyptian food tastes though, I have nothing to compare to. I got mixed plate and the meats were really good. The rice was nice too. I didn't like the tahini or garlic sauce much but I don't particularly like tahini in general. I would go back for the lamb and kafta. Tried some new things at a catering event for a friend's wedding and immediately fell in love, I've been craving them ever since. Chicken Cababs were to die for so I went 5 miles out of my way to get some more today. Owner was very kind, food was absolutely incredible. Really hope more people give this food truck a try like I did, because it is very good. read more
