Slow service (not enough waiters). I got the risotto and my husband got mussels. Both were underwhelming. Oh, what a marvelous and marvelously bohemian place Falernum is. I felt like an extra in a French…read morefilm as I sat by the table, eating a well-made steak sandwich, drank wine and talked about horror movies with a friend of mine. Okay, so maybe the last part isn't particularly French, but that's not Falernums fault. I blame myself for that strange love of mine. Let me dwell a little on the sandwich. Perfectly made. That's what it was. Underneath it all laid a slice of cheese that just made the whole thing better. I never knew steak sandwiches could be so fine! And the wine given to us by the waiter, well, it made all the sense in the world. Also, slyly watching the waiter drink wine while talking to customers just gave that extra French feel. What a little slice of Paris in here.

No-nonsense tapas - also, it's pretty cheap!…read more First thing: Don't get scared by the cheap-looking menu taped onto a skillet - the food and service is excellent! The place has an old-timey Spanish decor which makes you feel relaxed and in no hurry. The placed is quiet and laid-back, even so, there are no backs (backrests) on many of the benches used for seating. I was here with two friends, and we ordered two plates each (priced at 70-100 kr.), but shared all six between us as you do with tapas. We actually ended up not being able to eat it all, so you shouldn't worry about going home hungry and with an empty wallet as you might do at some tapas places. Although not a standard tapas, I recommend the fried cod with mayonnaise. Other than that the lamb and the chorizo were really good.

This may have been the best meal we had in Denmark in our two-week visit…read more My wife's Danish family toured Christiania with us and afterward they arranged dinner here. Absolutely incredible food from start to finish with great service in a friendly atmosphere. We were a large party, so everybody ended up ordering something different from the menu and therefore we got a chance to sample everything...and it was all outstanding. From the vegetarian dishes to the venison, it was all pretty much the best in Denmark. The service was prompt, courteous, and they had their act together; no confusion, no mix ups, nothing needed to be corrected. It was all tip-top. I would strongly recommend reservations, particularly if you are a group larger than 2, because this is a very popular place. There was a big party of at least 50 people taking up one large table running the length of the restaurant, and they were all seemingly happy and getting served efficiently. I'm not one for repeat experiences when traveling, but the next time in Copenhagen, THIS is the place I'm going back to as soon as possible.

The restaurant was almost empty, and the server and chef made us feel very welcome, with an amuse bouche and other tasty treats. The server told us that the menu was brand new, with Thai influences. We started with the vegetarian bao, which was a work of art with gorgeous greenery, and incredibly delicious with a flavorful peanut sauce. My mom had the halibut with cabbage, hazelnuts, and a sumptuous, rich super tasty sauce that reminded me of Thai green curry. The sauce was served in a beautiful little pot so there was plenty of extra sauce! (unlike so often when there's an inadequate smear of sauce on the plate). I had the ribeye with mushrooms which was one of the best steaks I've had for years. The cut was on the thinner side and perfectly cooked for me (medium rare). It wasn't mentioned on the menu but the chef gave us French fries with a yummy mayo-like sauce to dip. Soooo good.
