After a long day of travel we arrived late in Copenhagen on a Saturday night only to find that there are very few dining options available after 10 PM aside from the usual late night street food type places. Wandering looking for a good meal as opposed to just food to close out our long trip we stumbled across this little gem. With a limited food menu and an amazing wine selection we had a seat. To be honest they had us at "Yes our kitchen is still open". I mention the limited menu because it is quite limited as they have the food prepped at their other location and brought before completion to this small outpost. We had their special appetizer of Mackerel and the Coq au Vin main paired with a great wine recommendation. Check the menu board which changes daily and treat yourself to this fun intimate space. Great music playing at a nice level, lighting not to bright nor to dim, seats outside and a friendly staff... next time through town we will certainly stop by. read more

Louis R is known to kick ass and take names whilst drinking beers. He is also known to be uber refined whilst sipping on quality reds and noshing on cured meats. This spot in Copenhagen is classy. Cozy and accommodating describes it perfectly. It is not a tourist trap so you won't hear the annoying screeching of American chicks. I had a wonderful lunch here in early december that I can still recall with warmth. We hesitated to enter since there were only a choice of sandwich or soup for lunch but once inside we knew we were in the perfect place. The service was really good and the interior design is minimalistic in a typical scandinavian fashion. We tried the tomato soup topped of with croutons and an oil with herbs and it was perfect for the cold winter day. We thought the waiter had forgotten our order of a cheese platter however it arrived with some gorgeous bread after we finished our soup. Out of the assorted cheeses the brie with summertruffles was my favorite. A perfectly balanced red wine accompanied our delicious lunch. I can not wait to go back to this place when I'm in Copenhagen again! read more

I came in late on a Wednesday night. I originally sat outside at a table, since I was dining alone and there wasn't a table inside (super busy). It quickly got chilly and they had a table come available so I was able to move inside. The staff was mildly-friendly, not horrible but not the type who would explain dishes, make recommendations on wine or food, or fill up your water when you are out. I had the cheese and meat plate, along with a glass of red wine. The wine was quite good but the plate was hit or miss. It was a little skimpy on servings and I had asked for no pate (if they served it) but was served it anyways. All in all - it was just alright. Watch out Christianshavn, there's a new winebar in town! Had a blast here last night. The staff knows good service, good food, and good wine (it's really not that complicated, and yet...). They have some bottles I've never heard of before that basically blew me away (both because of the labels, and also because of the taste that backed them up). They loved letting us taste 'em all and getting our feedback. If you ask me, they might as well be offering hygge, on tap, for free. Basically they've got it all covered. A ridiculously good sign that your business is successful? Tuesday night on an otherwise empty street and you're full until closing time. What a pleasant find this small neighborhood restaurant turned out to be. After visiting the Christiana area we were strolling along on our walk back to the Royal Palace. We stopped into this small restaurant by chance and was greeted by a pleasant young man who made us some fresh homemade sandwiches. This guy really knows his stuff and explained in detail how the French cheese was made and even gave us a sample of the fresh Serrano ham before making our sandwiches. Needless to say we both enjoyed our sandwiches in this quaint part of town, and the price was very reasonable. read more

My son insisted on eating Danish food and we happened to wander into this restaurant. There were no tables outside so we came back and found one on the street. The menu was only in Danish but the waitress patiently came and explained the menu in English. Very simple 2 dishes of the day a veg dish with daal plus raita and pita bread and a non vegetarian option of duck and beets. My son said no beats and the waitress very promptly replaced that with bread and potatoes. The food was very very good. It was an Indian rendition of daal Plus raita by a Danish cook but turned out to be better than I have ever mange's to cook after years of this being my staple diet. The duck was well cooked and juicy. But it was the friendly atmosphere and the attitude of the waiting staff that was phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good And wholesome Danish food. read more

Very cute little place in picturesque Christianshavn. It's quite small but cozy, in a typical old building with a sunny yellow facade. I went for lunch with some colleagues, who all enjoyed it as well. Their lunch offer is relatively simple (soup of the day, sandwich of the day, and a small cheese and charcuterie plate). The cauliflower soup I got was creamy and really tasty, with some chives oil and croutons. The sandwich looked nice, too, but I thought the charcuterie/ cheese plate was too small for a lunch offer - maybe a good size with a bottle of wine in the evening, but you'd really have to fill up on bread for lunch. They seemed to have a great and broad wine selection, so I'll definitely come back to try that. Service was friendly and quick. One minus - they only have filter coffee, and I vastly prefer espresso. read more

In my opinion, this is probably one of the best restaurants in Copenhagen. They change the evening menu every day, but still the same price. The food they serve is really simple and every time I have been, it was a absolute pleasure. The place is not the biggest, which just adds up to the very nice atmosphere - hyggeligt! The service fits together with the menu and surroundings - a nice relaxed and homelike feeling. I would almost describe this as a must in this city! read more

A corner neighborhood restaurant with an open kitchen. It's small and quaint. One beer on tap (Moritz). One main dish per evening. Call ahead to make a reservation, since they may be booked (or run out of main dishes). When we were there it was pig neck with sunchokes. Somewhat unusual -- I don't know that I've ever seen pig neck on a menu before -- but executed well. Service was exceptionally friendly without being overly-friendly. Some of the tables are bar-height with stools, which was helpful for us as we had our 6 month old daughter with us in a Ergo-style carrier. Great little wine bar. They serve a charcuterie/cheese plate every day with a large selection of wine by the glass (very thoughtful selection). They then have 3 daily specials. Appetizer/entree/dessert, That's it! Outside seating on the corner and a quaint 2 room dining area. 2 people spent 1000 dkk on 6 glasses of wine, 1 charcuterie board, 2 apps and 1 entree with unlimited bread refills. So maybe a little pricey. But definitely worth it! read more

Perfect spot for lunch. We had a lovely glass of wine, tasty tomato soup glistening with basil oil, and a platter of excellent French cheeses and meats. (loved the sausage with walnuts.) The dining area is airy, bright, and clean -- and felt very Danish in all the best ways. (Little cloth towels folded neatly in the restroom for hand-drying.) The man who served us, did everything and well. I cannot think of anywhere left in the US where such a simple, superb place can exist. read more

My wife and I recently ate at Sankt Annae 8. What a terrific find. We were walking near Christiania, had climbed the corkscrew steps of the Church of Our Saviour. Sankt Annae 8 is a small, but very friendly and cozy corner restaurant with a prix fixe menu. We stuck with the menu, but noted that they were very flexible if we wanted to choose something different. We had a scallop appetizer and delicious baked chicken. And our server made great selections for wine. As well, our server was extremely friendly, took time to chat with us and get to know us, and to share a bit about himself and his life.
