I flew out to New Jersey for a family emergency, and when I moved my mom's Honda CR-V, I noticed it was overdue for service, per the reminder on the dashboard. I contacted Causeway Honda for an appointment to bring in my mom's CRV for service. Their website was pretty easy to use to schedule the oil change and B service. In fact, I was able to drop it off later that afternoon. When my mom and I dropped off, I spoke to Matt and was assured that the technician would do a multi-point inspection in conjunction with the service that was due. We hopped across the street for lunch, and as we were finishing up, my phone rang. Matt said there were a few other things on the CRV that needed attention. I went back across the street to the service bay. Matt and the technician were kind enough to point out (while the car was on the rack) exactly where the vehicle needed attention. We had a leaking axle seal, leaking and overdue transmission filter, original drive belt needed replacement, and the air and cabin filters were both past due. Matt and I discussed how best to address the overdue maintenance items, working with me to make sure that my spend in the service department would address the most urgent and impactful items. Matt also offered that Causeway would be able to get the parts and complete the services in time for the next morning. The car was ready, right on time the next morning. Kristin is the best, she always gets me right in and last time since they could not get the part for a couple of days she hooked me up with a loaner. I bought my car in for the convenient oil change, and was greeted warmly by several technicians. I'll be in, I requested to be shuttled to a local diner, and we were off within minutes. Devon was our driver, a very nice young man! He drove us there within minutes, and picked us up when requested his warm demeanor, and ability to converse with us, made our visit one of the best! This is definitely the worst Honda dealership in NJ. There is a reason myself and my family buy all of our Hondas elsewhere. We have 7 Hondas amongst our entire family, and many of us have been driving Hondas in general for decades. The staff is obnoxiously rude whether it's sales or service. I do not even wanna get started on the parts department. The are the least competent and rude people period. This is the type of dealership people think of as being awful and why you shouldn't go to a dealership for anything period. UPDATE from my original review posted on 2/6: Unfortunately I have to update my review from 5/5 stars to a 2/5 stars. The day I purchased my car I was told my second key would be ordered the same day and be ready within 30 days. A month later we called about our second key because we were originally told it would be finished by then BUT were told that the key had not even been ordered and that they would order it that day and it would arrive around two weeks later. We then called AGAIN a bit after two weeks and the key was still not ordered. We were told yet again that the key would be ordered that day and we would hear from him the following week. That was three weeks ago... Overall our original experience was great, as you can see from my initial review above. But the lack of effort and concern they have for their customers AFTER a purchase is made would have me tell any potential buyers to run the other way. If you want to be hand holding grown adults into doing their job, then Causeway Honda is the place for you! But if you'd prefer salespeople who do their job correctly, I'd suggest maybe looking into Toms River Honda! read more

ZERO STARS for NEW pricing, 5 stars for sales and service. Today, 10/3/22 I had one of our 5 Hondas in for the dealer offered FREE OIL CHANGES for LIFE, only to find out that as of 10/1/22 they now charge $14.95 PLUS TAX () for an "Oil Disposal Fee". A newly instituted fee to dispose of oil that Ocean County Recycling Center less than a mile away takes for free for residents (5 gallons per day per person), NAPA, Auto Zone, Car Quest, WalMart ALL will take used motor oil for free. Waiting on a call, email, excuse...... errrrr I mean explanation from ANYONE in power from Causeway and will gladly update this review upon communication. read more

I would say NEVER take your car here to get fixed. They are Dangerous and unsafe. 1.Got a Radiator flush done and they did half the job. Never filled the overflow tank. 2. Got a oil done and they didn't Tighten the drain plug all the way leading to half of the oil coming out and would of lead to severe damage if I didn't catch it in time. 3. Got a alignment done and they SAID: they didn't check if everything on the car what's on tight and corrects before they did the alignment. But on a proper alignment they were supposed to check everything and torque everything correctly and make sure everything is on tight and correct said the by Mike at Toms River Honda dealership. So Causeway Honda said that they these put my car on the alignment rack didn't even touch anything so when my wheel fell off when I was driving that's why it isn't their fault. The car was in the there shop 100 miles/ 6 days after this problem happened and Paul at Causeway is these trying to point fingers at other people other then Manning up to his mistakes. My wheel came off while driving and they blamed me or another job that I been at mouths ago other then there techs not caring and doing dangerous unsafe work. Purchased a car in the beginning of February. We were told a spare key would be ordered yet still waiting 2 months later. I've called multiple times to speak with salesman Jerry L. Last call on 4/9 told me he would check and call next day. Well today is the 17th and nothing. Called again first time was disconnected while be transferred and second time conveniently connected to voice mail. My experience was just OK. I ended up getting the car I wanted and trading out of my previous lease with no problems. I give 3 stars because it was just a very impersonal experience. It was just all about making the sale and that's exactly what it felt like. I ended up paying way more then what I would have at Burns Honda but their shipment of Pilots was behind for awhile so that's how I ended up here at CauseWay. Untimely it was a smooth transaction but I just hate feeling like I was taken advantage of at the end of the day. Anywho, my sales person and the finance guy were both pleasant but a bit pushy especially when it came time for the add ons of warranties. So in conclusion, yes I believe they can get the job done, but you may end up paying very high mark up cost then other Honda dealerships and you may be paying more then you want a month if you give in to pushy tactics for add ons with warranties as I did. Again, very much happy with my brand new Pilot just wish I did transaction elsewhere in my opinion. read more

He promised me floor mats if I bought the car. It has been 3 months and still no mats. He lied. I've purchased many vehicles in my life and never had a problem until Causeway. Do not trust the service dept . I picked up my car from service and it was filthy inside. They left a window open and pine needles and dirt were everywhere. It was gross. The service dept did not locate or fix the problem. I'm taking the car to another dealer for repair. I picked up my car and was handed a receipt. I was on vacation in the area, far from home, and experienced car problems with my special lady's CRV. I called and explained the issue to, what seemed to be, the front desk person who was responsible for answering and directing calls. She passed me to someone's voicemail and didn't give me a name or title of the person who's voicemail it was, she simply said, "I'll put you though to the person that handles that". Getting a voicemail on a Tuesday afternoon when I was leaving on Friday was a bit troubling but I didn't want to be pushy by calling back so I left my message and hoped to get a call back. Nothing. I waiting until 4:50pm to call back and explained my problem again to someone different and was put through to the same voicemail. I left another message and then immediately called back and the phone just rang with no one picking up. I then called again the next morning (Wednesday) to go through the same process, explain my problem, this time with extra emphasis, and then got passed to what seemed to be the same voicemail. I went in to look at an accord EX-L and she brings me a touring and I told her no. She said maybe we can get you in this for an EX-L price then proceed to try and sell for full sticker. Yelled at me for being on my phone while we went back and forth. I tried to explain since you brought me something I wasn't considering I needed to get some more information before I would make any decisions. I was totally ready to purchase on the spot. However the way she treated me from the minute I walked in the door I should have either left right away or asked for a different sales person. She completely wasted my time and put me in a bad mood. Brought my car in on November 6th to have it looked at. Tech told me that I needed a tune up (100k miles) and needed 4 new tires, I asked about needing brakes because when I was there the last time for an oil change I was told I would need brakes on the next visit. The tech said "Nope your brakes look brand new". When I asked about the tires I was told they were at the end of their life...weird but I wasn't going to fight. Tech comes back and says, sorry made a mistake and you do need rear brakes. When I got the car home I looked at my old paperwork and noticed that I go 2 new tires in March of 2020 and 2 new tires in January of 2021, all tires were rated for 55k miles and I drove nowhere near that amount in the times they have been on. We purchased a vehicle in March after being brought in by the sales rep lying they would match a price we found at a different dealer. That was the beginning of a horrible car buying experience. We had to get plates and the car registered in delaware and even got charged a few hundred extra dollars for this service. Well it is now June and we still dont have our registration. The lein holder is now calling me asking why they dont have the title and the sales rep wont respond to us. We tried for weeks getting them the informationfor them to tell us Delaware DMV was close (it wasnt i actually had to go get a second temporarily tag and am going to need a third tomorrow.) We have exhausted all our options with this and i dont want to have to pay for another temporary tag. Avoid this chain of dealerships and save yourself some hassle. read more

I leased two cars from causeway on December 31 2021 they told me I would receive the 2 nd car with in 14 day's but that did not happen they told me since i had to wait 6 weeks that they would pay 1 month of the lease and give us $500 in Accessories i went to pick up the check for that month and the accessories and they told me they decided not to pay me back for that month and I still didn't receive the accessories i an holding back $685 from them for deceiving me and not keeping there promise so as im concerned we are even actually they made $200 on that deal extra I will not go back to Causeway Honda ever and lease a car from them again they lost a loyal customer read more

Recently, I brought my CRV here for an oil change and tire rotation. I had a 3 p.m. appointment. When I was checked in I was told that the service would take 45 minutes to an hour. I mentioned to the service person that the Tire Pressurure Warning Light comes on but that the tires are within their proper inflation. She said that she would have the technician check it out. Then insanity took over. Stay with me. Three hours later at about 6:30 p.m. the service person reappeared and said that "the techinician found the culprit...one of the tires was bad...that it must have had a flat and the plug was placed too close to the rim and developed a slow leak...it needed to be replaced." She didn't say which tire it was and when I asked she didn't know but that she would ask the technician. A few minutes later she came back and said that because of the rotation the bad tire was now the right rear tire. Utter nonsense, First of all I never had a tire repaired; secondly, no one in the tire business would repair a tire unless it is on the treads and treads only. It's the law. I didn't want to argue because I just wanted to get the hell out of there and get home where I was needed. On the way home The Light came on again. The next morning I checked all the tires. The "bad tire" was over inflated by 10 lbs. and the rest were under inflated by about 3 lbs. each. It's no wonder the ride back was bouncy. In summary: three hours to change oil and rotate tires; a ludricous story regarding a "bad tire that needs to be replaced"; and the release of a car in an unsafe condition. This is totally unacceptable and gross negligence. Now I question whether in fact the oil was even changed and the tires rotated. read more

I had left a $1,000 deposit that they said was refundable on a new 2020 Honda Civic Type R and they still sold it. I dealt with manager Daniel H McMahon and car salesman Sean Thormann. I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone to come this this dealership if they're just going to treat their customers dirty. It's been about two weeks now and I still haven't received my $1,000 deposit. I called and was told Dan was in a meeting, so I asked for Sean and he answered... told me he'd speak to his finance manager and get right on it to refund my deposit. It's still isn't here. Spoke to my bank and they said it should only take a few days since it was a card transaction. I can't even being to describe the unprofessional-ism, lies, and double-talk. Don't get me wrong, I love my car and it is amazing and running just fine. However, I will NEVER recommed anyone to buy from Causeway Manahawkin Honda. No, ma'am. First-I do everything correctly on my end. Research the car, possible rebates, etc. Buy the car---done. NO. I have to call about a MONTH after purchasing the car to find out that my 500$ rebate for being a recent college graduate is no longer valid. ANNNND this is AFTER they tell me they never received my 11K deposit check. Which, by the way I PAID and had a canceled check from my bank with CAUSEWAY endorsing it. They tell me I'm responsible for paying an extra 500$, then they said I'd pay half and they'd pick up half, THEN nope---500$, then NOPE a different answer every bleeding time I called and spoke to the same manager. By the way, Honda holds on to your registration and tags if you have any "payment discrepancies." Which, apparently this was. So I had to re-do TEMPORARY tags numerous times. Waste countless lunch hours calling and getting no response. Or worse---TEXTS from the guy who sold me my car. I'm sorry but this is something you CALL someone about! I digress, Finally, they agree to pay the 500$ after I persistently called them for about a week and a half. In between this time, the sales manager said "I'd never say we'd take care of it for you." Unfortunately my daughter went here to buy a car for the first time on her own last year. She knew people who worked there and thought they'd give her a good deal. She was completely ripped off. I finally saw the paperwork. They undervalued her trade in. Sold here an overpriced 3 year old Sentra. An $1,800 service contract. And a 72 month loan at 18.73% interest. $9,500 in finance charges on a $14,000 loan. You hear stories about car salesmen who'll take advantage of anyone to get their commission and here's the perfect example. These guys are a joke. Went in to negotiate a CRV purchase and was met with bait and switch tactics. They even refused to honor their own web price. The salesman and manager weren't even on the same page with their lies - the salesman claimed there were internet fees driving up the website posted price and the manager claimed Honda raised the factory invoice on "some" stock numbers - yet every stock number listed on their website for the EX trim level listed the same price. Her appointment was for 9:25 this morning it should not take nearly 2 hours for a simple oil change. The "free oil" change you offer with the purchase of a vehicle is not worth this much time. When I called and brought the Jeep in- it took WEEKS to fix since they are not a Jeep dealership- which I get but consistently made me false promises. They should have never sold me the jeep without these items working. They offered me a refund for the time spent working on it- which I NEVER got. I've been dealing with causeway Honda for many many many years and this is the first time I've ever had a huge complaint against them when they give a lifetime oil change policy and can't fix somebody in their schedule when the car that I own is at 15% and it went down to 5% shut itself off then I had an oil change at another company on route 72 and it cost me $30 in Causeway Honda will not install not reimburse me for the oil change since they told me you can squeeze me in in two weeks that is ridiculous what does people think about that......... read more
