Nice bakery right on main street (Rt. 212) in Red Lodge MT. Came across it after riding the famous and beautiful Beartooth highway outside of Yellowstone Park. The bakery has great old tin plate lining the ceiling and walls and nice wooden floors. The girls at the counter greeted us warmly as we entered and quickly took our order at the counter. It was later morning so there were not as large a selection left. But what was there looked and was indeed delicious! Everything is fresh baked and the coffee was very good. A great place to stop after a awesome motorcycle ride through the mountains after Beartooth.

    Wide variety of desserts!

Cattail Bakery is one of my favorite bakeries I have ever been to. Their pastries are SO good and all the workers are always so friendly. Our favorite deserts are the lemon Danishes and the turnovers, but you can't really go wrong anything at the bakery. Recommend this place if you are in the RL area!

I don't know what this place used to be called, but it doesn't matter. The new owners have maintained this as a bakery of treats, both wicked and not. It was a mix for me. Perhaps it's because only one person at a time is allowed in -- social distancing and all -- and the pressure to pick something for others can be hard -- or perhaps it was the required mask that hindered the wafting aromas from being fully inhaled. There wasn't a rush by the employee but with the other customers waiting outside, I felt obligated to hurry. The selection is impressive -- for as late in the morning as we came. There was still a variety of things available. It was hard to choose. The brownie looked delicious, but was dry -- even with the frosting being in a near perfect ratio of frosting to cake. It was disappointing. On the other hand, the caramel roll was good, and I appreciated that she asked if I preferred crispy or soft. (Crispy for the win!) I didn't want that last bite to end and it was hard to share it. The macaroon, another winner, was a large ball of coconut goodness rolled in chocolate. The croissant, well, it was a croissant and although I only had one bite of it (someone decided not to share), it was fine. Next time, I might try one of the other kinds. It's hard to rhapsodize about something you only sampled. Overall, Cattail Bakery is a place to have a treat and with luck, once this current craziness is over, might even be a place to again enjoy inhaling the scents that only a bakery can produce

Suuuuuuper expensive but great bakery. They're not messing around when it comes to delicious. It's a locals hang out which is pretty much every place in this great town. Go there.

Honestly this amazing cute bakery should be the gold standard every bake/coffee store should want to look up for , this was hands down the best coffee shop I ever been to and I love my coffee (so I been to so many I can't remember anymore)...this bakery has been on my mind for days ,I really wish they had something like this by where I live all the way in Florida. The moment you walk in you get greeted with really positive vibes the baristas ask you right away if you are ready to order or you need a minute to look at the menu They were super super friendly and also remembered us by the 3rd day we went there to get our "usual" coffee while we were in Red Lodge I recommend visiting them earlier bc I came in after noon and they have fresh baked pastries everyday so they were almost gone when we came in to get our coffee The pastries look so so good , I tried the chocolate croissant which is my favorite and they definitely killed it ! Our baristas were so nice and made our drinks so delicious that we came back 3 days in a row lol We had the Inferno Canyon and the September Morn , so so freaking good !! They have their own specialty drink menu which makes them even cooler bc I never had a spicy coffee that tasted so so delicious If you are visiting Red Lodge you need to visit this cute bakery you definitely won't regret it :)

My favorite stop when visiting from Texas. Love all the fresh baked goodies, and especially my peppermint white mocha.

We love Cattail! Get there early for caramel rolls-the best. There's always a table and a conversation to be had.

Great little place but you better go early or call in an order if you want something besides coffee.
