The Sunday I came to this Kingston, NY location at Kings Mall, I picked up a glass+black frame for a deckle edge art piece my daughter had gotten hubs. The layout here is bigger than most Michael's I've been to, prices of course, are reasonable and I can use my educator's discount on top of what I buy.

Manny's specializes in not only a wide selection of high quality art supplies for all mediums, but also a variety of gift items and novelties as well! We were tempted to drop major cash on some new oil pastels, but instead settled for some inexpensive but adorable wallet-sized animal figurines (a lamb for me and a dinosaur for the boyfriend - so cute!) I haven't seen a small business that sells art supplies outside of my beloved Blick's in Cambridge, MA, so it was cool to visit Manny's in New Paltz and not only support a local business, but support the arts as well. The staff was knowledgeable and kind, and made shopping here an excellent experience. It was a wonderful way to start our New Paltz adventure!

The first time, I ordered gold luster and was sent white luster instead. When I called to let them know, I was told there was nothing they could do. I decided to give them another chance. This time, I ordered Bright Gold Luster along with several glazes. The glazes arrived, but the gold luster--the main reason I placed the order--was missing. When I contacted the company, they refused to issue a refund or make the situation right. To make matters worse, the owner was incredibly rude and dismissive during our phone conversation. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What I can't understand is refusing to take responsibility and treating a customer so disrespectfully. After two separate negative experiences and the way this was handled, I won't be ordering from them again and cannot recommend this business.
