Wow, seeing poor reviews about this company really made me sad. First of all, who shops at a ceramics company ?? We are all dealing with a changed world and doing what we can to survive. Before you slam them, think about being a bit more understanding like you would expect your customers to be with what you are dealing with every day! So, their website is "ok", but the e-commerce is sub-par indeed and that is unfortunate but knowing this upfront makes it a bit easier to swallow but Wake up, they are not a tech company and fortunately they are raising their prices to support an ecommerce platform for a very select group of apparently ungrateful customers. i am a customer, but like to think of Bailey as a business partner. We both need to do well in order to grow. So, poor e-commerce but what they do have are real people that for the most part really seem to care and that makes up for a lot and I would rather have a real person helping me than a more efficient website. Products ? Well, I run a teaching studio in California and while there have been some learning moments, overall I would choose Bailey again (with a few hindsight corrections) with my product purchases and put my money where my mouth is in this regard. I dream of the day to be able to afford the investment in one of their state of the art commercial gas kilns, but for now we have two top load electrics, 10 pro-xl wheels, 30 inch slab roller, de-airing pugmill that processes at least 30 tons a year, and many of the bailey branded tools. The sales and support staff are friendly, knowledgeable and patient and their prices overall are fair. They put up with my long calls, ignorance and have resolved the majority of my "issues" and I never hesitate to refer them to my students building out their home studios. This is the first negative review I've ever left, but I'm genuinely appalled by how I was treated. This is the second time, years apart, that I've ordered Bright Gold Luster from this company, and both experiences have been extremely disappointing. The first time, I ordered gold luster and was sent white luster instead. When I called to let them know, I was told there was nothing they could do. I decided to give them another chance. This time, I ordered Bright Gold Luster along with several glazes. The glazes arrived, but the gold luster--the main reason I placed the order--was missing. When I contacted the company, they refused to issue a refund or make the situation right. To make matters worse, the owner was incredibly rude and dismissive during our phone conversation. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What I can't understand is refusing to take responsibility and treating a customer so disrespectfully. After two separate negative experiences and the way this was handled, I won't be ordering from them again and cannot recommend this business. read more

My family purchased a Brent B wheel as a very generous dream gift for me over the holidays. I called them on the 30th to check on the status of the order, and see if I could upgrade to the Brent C. After being on hold for a bit, I was transferred to a woman who was so helpful. They were running a promotion and so the upgrade was only $106 more to get the Brent C. Furthermore, the B was on back order....which my son had received an email letting him know. So, long story, they helped me process the upgrade and informed me that the X was in stock and would go out within a week as it was in between the holidays. I was very thankful for the terrific customer service, and the upgrade (thankful for the sale). The wheel arrived in perfect condition. So pleased, thank you! read more

The most brutal experience, and I mean ever. Imagine navigating an entire page. placing an order... no issues. No warning signs. ONLY once the item has shipped (so no way to to anything about it) do they send you a warning about duty fees (and there being no way to know the cost on YOUR end). I ordered a Bailey slab roller which is expensive you expect your slab roller to come in perfect condition. They barely even use any packing around it. Mine arrived bent they only can give me a 50$ for the damage cause they think that's just cosmetic. I am sorry that's 800$ if this potentially breaks it's on me I barely get warranty. They messed up even the owner said this has been a occurrening problem but they won't fix the problem. Don't order here costumer service was awful they were rude wouldn't let me return it I am so disappointed. read more

I ordered what appeared to be a standard "stool" and after waiting for over a month it finally arrived. What arrived was anything but a standard stool and within 24 hours I requested to return the item. They stated " unfortunately items can only be returned within 30 days." It took over 30 days to receive my order disqualifying a return. Opting to simply send the brand new and just received item to the dump it has become apparent the company doesn't send their product until after it has been disqualified for a return. Highly unprofessional business practice. If you buy from here, just know you won't receive it until you can no longer send it back. read more

Do not order from this company. Their delivery service dropped my packages of glazes and other material in my driveway at night where they were not secure or visible and my husband ran over the package breaking everything bc he could not see it and they said it is our problem and would not replace the items. Wish I would have checked these ratings prior to making my order. Ordered $130 worth of glaze plus over $40 in shipping. I know... that shipping... but the heart wants what the heart wants. I got a message next day 3 of the items are not in stock and being removed from my order. One item was an item I was having a hard time finding and the only reason I was ordering from Bailey Pottery. I was annoyed, but let it ride. I am now on day 17 after the order was placed, and it still hasn't been shipped. In the meantime, I found that hard to get glaze and the other two glazes at another location. Ordered them, received them and have already glazed and fired the pieces. I have sent 2 emails regarding timing and they have responded quickly but with "we were out last week" and then the week after "two of our employees were out this week"... Ridiculous! They must be doing great local business because their online business is not great. read more

I'm waiting on a slab roller I ordered from them two months ago. My mother bought me an extruded from them in February that I finally received at the end of June. Their staff is nice, but their website is very misleading. They shouldn't be taking orders and payment and then inform you after purchase of the super long delays. Once I receive the slab roller then I probably won't buy from them again. read more

Did an order of two composite types of 12" Bats. Placed the order on a Sunday after reluctingingly agreeing to pay %50 of the purchase price in shipping charges. $50.00 in shipping for UPS. On Tuesday I contacted them for shipping information and found out they still had not shipped it and it would not be shipped until Wednesday. Don't you love people without a sense of urgency charging you $50 for shipping on a $100 order and then not even respecting the customer enough to ship it in a timely fashion. read more

My former boss had a great saying he used to aptly apply to businesses that give minute amounts of s*** about their customers. Well, this place is certainly well deserving of his saying. To paraphrase, his words have something to do with poop rolling down the hill. Baileys are a local monopoly that act like snobs and smart alecks at all time, no matter your interaction or need. They seem to think they own the world. Ever since the pandemic, Baileys have been a paranoid mess where you have to announce your need for clay... or anything really... well in advance. Oh no, they couldn't possibly open the magic gate to the warehouse and get you that unicorn box or two when you truly need it. That would just be too kind. Too nice. Too ... good practice. Too... help a guy out when he needs you to. The entire customer-facing team at Baileys act as though they don't care and the place doesn't need your money. Picked up 1400 lbs of clay and kiln shelves after driving 4 hrs to get it. Arrived promptly at the time I had spoken with them that I would arrive . Zero parking spaces so I called, they said pull up to the small porch when someone came out they said oh you have to pull up over there for your order. When I pulled over where they guided me a fork truck was zipping in and out of the building right next to me. So to say I was a bit distracted when they ask if I needed help loading would be an understatement. They said sign the clipboard before leaving and they promptly left kind like a bit hurried Y the time i carried the carried the second box of clay It occurred to me that yes of course I could use help loading 1350 lbs. more lbs. but no one to be found . I finished loading and had to look through 2 other peoples orders to find mine ,I mean not that those other 2 orders had any personal info on them like names addresses emails. Extremely disappointed with my recent shopping experience. Firstly, if I'm not allowed in your showroom, you are not fully open. So, I placed my order online, and two days later I receive an email that most of what I've ordered is on back order and I should expect to wait 3-6 weeks. About a week later I finally receive what they had on hand, while being charged for the full order. Then I wait, after 7 weeks I reach out for a refund and they never respond. Placed an order on line for four items. Two days later, received an email that everything was out of stock and I could expect my order in 12-14 WEEKS. Called customer service and inquired why I was allowed to purchase items they didn't have, and was told their software doesn't know what's in stock and it takes 2 days for a human to check the warehouse and find out they don't have them. Plus, their website processed the credit card charge at the time of the order, even though they didn't have the merchandise. They had to process a refund when I cancelled the order. I tried to order the same items from a competitor's website and it wouldn't let me place out of stock items in my cart.
