In the Harpur shopping centre there are round 30 shops including Primark, Superdrug, Boots, Argos, Clintons, TK Maxx, 99p shop, Ann Summers, a few phone shops and several more. It's not very exciting at all! There is a spiral in the middle which leads down to the Harpur centre car park, WH Smiths and a sports shop. There are 2 different sets of toilets in this centre - but that's really the only good thing about it!

It sells all the essentials plus lottery tickets and scratch cards, alcohol, magazines, pet food and baby items and always has offers on. It has door security which i like as it stops teenagers hanging around causing trouble (they are known to hang around at the local Barclay's just down the road) and means no-one feels intimidated but this store is not as cheap as the larger Tescos in Bedford so if you want to do a bigger shop and save money you are better going to one of the larger stores on the outskirts of town.

It now sells lottery tickets too which it didn't before but all other items are the same., They have very good reductions on stock which is going out of date, if you go down about 9pm you can pick up ready meals for about 20p which you can then freeze so real bargains to be had. The staff are ok, not overly friendly but not rude. The shop has a cashpoint outside which is handy too.

The clothing is good quality. I wouldn't say the are cheap, but you get what you pay for. They have changing rooms for men and women. The childrens section of clothing only goes up to approx age 10-11. They do sometimes have a few above that size. Above that size mostly you have to order off the internet. Upstairs they have a household section, selling items like lamps and cushions etc. You can order items online, for collection at your local store. The advantage is you can save on delivery and make sure the item fits.
