The Swansgate shopping centre is situated in the heart of Wellingborough and surrounded by shops…read moreoutside of it. Inside, there is a good selection of stores, including high street names like Boots, WHSmith, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Wilkinsons and Iceland to name a few. The range of shops is good too, as there is a nice selection of clothes shops, jewellery shops, department style stores, music and loads of others. There is loads of parking inside the centre itself and it is free which is great as there are not many shopping centres that have free parking. The only thing about the centre that lets it down is the fact that it looks very dated and old fashioned compared with more modern shopping centres. Having said that, it doesn't really matter as it is always clean and tidy and the shops are great which is what really matters.

I often use this Tesco express when I run out of milk or bread or other essentials. It is the…read morenearest store for me as Irthlingborough is quite limited for shops. It stocks all the essentials and has a good range for a small store, but obviously the range is limited. For example, you can't get the low fat versions of things like you can in the bigger stores. They sell some fruit and veg, some fridge items and have a small freezer section too as well as the usual tinned and packaged items, toiletries and magazines. It is more expensive than the normal Tescos stores, but it is convenient for local people and the staff are good too. It is close to the car park at the end of the street which is free to park in.

The branch in Wellingborough is a fairly large store and it has a large carpark too, although you do now have to pay £1 to park there which is refunded at the till if you buy something over £5, if not, then you lose your £1. The prices are excellent and when they have a sale on for the end of season ranges,the prices are really low, it is hard to find anywhere cheaper. There are plenty of checkouts, but it does get pretty busy in there and the queues are sometimes quite long, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. It does tend to get a bit hot in the store though, that is the only downside. It's a good store where you can buy lots of different things all under one roof,all of which are cheaper than other high street stores, and it is close to town centre so you could walk from the shopping centre to Matalans easily enough.

The lady in the shop was really helpful and got the pad out of the window so that I could try it on. I also tried on another one before making my mind up. She was very constructive and offered her advice on the rings. The store always has a nice display in the window, on one side it looks like most jewellery stores, but round the corner they always have unusual collectable items in the window which always catch my eye and it's a place that I always look at when trying to find birthday presents that are a bit different. The jewellery is high quality and Hinds is a respected name that has been around for years. I you are looking for a good quality piece then this would be one of the first places in Wellingborough that I would try. It is in the shopping centre which has free parking so the access is easy.

Went in today to get a Morecard to get some things on offer.Service at customer service desk…read moreexcellent BUT when i looked at the winter bedding plans/shrubs/plants they had been neglected.They have always sourced good quality garden plants etc but if there not watered,as of today,the majority were on their last legs or dead. Dont know if they have cut back on staff hrs in this dept but majority of stock will eventually be binned,no reductions in price visible!

I was on the verge of leaving in dismay when a staff member came up the escalator pushing some. It was all I could do to get past the charity sellers inside, and then I find the chocolate bag offer of 2 for £5 has been with the Morecard. Do you realise just how cold this store is regularly? Even the till staff wear gloves and I needed to put my hoodie up. I was charged £1.85 for Pringles when the Morecard offer says £1.25. Disgusting! I have enjoyed this store in the past but it going downhill faster than Frank Klammer. What about those dividers at the till which refer to snooping? Offensive to all honest people. Shall I go on?!

I stumbled across this little gift shop by accident when walking from Morrison's car park into…read moreWellingborough town centre and in it I found the perfect birthday gift for my friend. They sell loads of gifts, some quite unusual and not the sort of thing that is found in mainstream high street stores. The gifts are really pretty and interesting, examples are things like fairy collectables, wind chimes, dream catchers, unique style jewellery and handbags. It is a really small shop, but the staff are really great and leave you to browse freely without bothering you all the time and don't make you feel uneasy like in some stores. If you are looking for something a bit special or unusual for someone (although most of the gifts are aimed towards females), then try this shop as you will probably find something and the prices are pretty reasonable too. I was pleasantly surprised as was expecting the items to be much more expensive.

The store is usually very well laid out, the only time that it does become a bit messy is at sale times, but you expect this in most clothes stores. They always have some great bargains though. The staff are usually pretty helpful and polite and the changing rooms are really big and there are lots of them so you don't normally have to queue for one. New Look sells a good range of fashionable clothes, underwear, shoes, jewellery,accessories and some gifts,all of which are very reasonably priced. It is my favourite clothes store in the Swansgate centre.
