I like the nice little drive to this Outlet center. I've been before a few times and like that it isn't crowded and it's not too far from Murfreesboro. I knew the store would open at 10 am, so I was there a little early - 10 minutes early or so. We sat outside with our masks on and waited for the doors to open. We walked into the store and was pleasantly greeted by the staff. The store was having a large sale and I was itching for some good deals. They have ample stock on hand, and the store was neat as a pin. Everyone in the store, from staff to customers, was COVID responsible - no crazed protests about masks. Just everyone cheery and having a great time shopping! I grabbed a boatload of items - because I am a prototypical insane grandmommy that MUST take care of her grandbaby and then some. So between the sales and using every discount opportunity at my disposal, including my Carter's rewards membership, I walked out of the store with over $350 of product for half the cost. THAT is what I call a DEAL! The staff was helpful to both me and my friend. I can honestly say they were top-notch and even helpfully suggestive at getting the most bang for my buck. I will be back here, I'm sure. I'll find an excuse to get more for my little granddaughter in the oven. Bottom line: Grandmommies who need to buy their weight in Carter's clothes for your little angels, stop over here and get your fill. You won't find better!

While strolling the shops of the Lebanon Strip Mall the wife and I passed this place. I've not…read morebeen in a lot of babytoriums before, my general belief is a child needs a swaddling cloth and food and not "grandma's my favorite" $5 baby t-shirts, but, eh.. the neighbors are having a baby soon, and the wife thought perhaps something more than a swaddling cloth would be appropriate for our soon-to-be new neighbor. I'm pretty sure if you're looking for an outfit for a baby you will find something here. We went in for 1 thing and came out with infinity. Prices seem, to me, to be a bit jacked up considering how little cloth is involved, I have been informed however that it's probably the standard. One thing to note is that if you have a double-wide stroller, it does not fit in that store unless you're wanting to monopolize the entire store and make it an event to get out of the store. I mention this as this happened necessitating a move of about half of the shoppers in that place for the double-wide to escape the gravitational pull of the cute at the back of the store. Not knocking someone for having a double-wide mind you, just consider that before going in, you're going to be jammed like no other store in that whole strip mall. When it came time to pay, they asked if I wanted to be signed up for their mailing list for coupons and such, I told her no thank you, I didn't even know the baby yet, and it might end up being a total bastard in which case I was not going to bother buying anything for it again. Evidently the don't have a lot of customers come in with that attitude as I thought she might fall laughing... People were nice, place was nice for the space (although I think they need about 4-6 feet wider for larger strollers and their current inventory) Eh, for a cog in the business of Big Baby, it was a nice little spot, I'd go again if I had to purchase non-swaddling cloth related items (oh yes, they had swaddling cloth, but not like I'd use and not the price range it should have been in)

The prices it has might make it worth a visit on its own if you're into the GAP. They're doing e-receipts now, saving a bit of paper per transaction and in the process getting your email address... eh, it's a step in the right direction, hopefully they won't use it to push marketing to you.

But really, who cares about the men's and kids? ;-) The women's section has a full selection of jeans at about 20% less than what you find in the store, but the real action is in the center of the store where there are scads of 50-70% off items. I'm a particular fan of their workout wear which is well represented. You will find lots of random totally wrong season items as well as plenty of in season items. The front part by the registers is less of a bargain (30%) but well organized. As you move back, there are real bargains to be had, and the sizes are in the right places but the racks are stacked to the point you can barely move the clothes to look at what's there. I happen to hit them up on a 70% off day (BONUS) but they don't advertise at all and you'll have no idea when those days are unless you call. The store was clean and tidy when we went. Several items had discounts, up to 50%. But the inventory of products wasn't that good. I have been to stores that had 2x-3x more variety of products. There were multiple staff members at the store helping customers with questions and checkouts.

I called and asked to speak to the manager. The girl said, "Let me get her" and put me on hold. I then called back and had to once again listen to a lot of information up front from a very slow voice that made it seem like it was longer than it actually was. When someone came to the phone I asked for the manager and the girl said, "That's me." I told her about calling and being on hold 25 minutes and asked her if she thought that was acceptable, and she said yes. I said are you? So you think it is acceptable to leave a customer on hold for 25 minutes without ever coming back to the phone, and she again said yes, we're short staffed. I then explained the reason for my call was because I had purchased several wildflower scents but have to keep buying the plugins because they burn out so quickly. She indicated she knew that they do. I told her I know someone out of town who had the same problem and that location let her trade them for new ones, and I was calling to see if this location would do that as well. She responded no, it's against our new policy. I asked about the policy, and she said that they've had so many problems with these that they no longer exchange them unless they haven't been used, have a tag still on them, and within 90 days of the receipt. Through my questions she confirmed this is a problem that the company has dealt with for a long time, so they can no longer afford to swap them out when new ones go bad. I told her I've already bought so many and have these scents I can't use, and asked her what was I supposed to do. She told me to not let a scent run out before switching to another scent. Then she told me that when I switched scents I should keep the unit unplugged for 3-4 days to let it reset. I questioned that. She said they aren't supposed to be plugged in all the time. I told her that is what they are made to do. Also there is no documentation anywhere to tell me this so how was I supposed to know. She said when I bought them the salesperson should have told me. I said with everyone I've bought, nobody has ever mentioned anything like this, and it doesn't make sense. She then said, well at least keep them unplugged for 24 hours. At that point, I asked, are you making this up. She of course said no. I said, well it seems like you are just pulling stuff off the top of your head, and you are giving me conflicting information. I said to summarize this, your company knows that they are and have been making and selling a inferior product, one that isn't cheap at all, and one that although more than twice as expensive as Walmart, lasts only through a few scents, and sometimes not even through 1. And you tell me that it is because I need to do these things (above) in order for it to not go bad. She said yes. I said, well I'm sure you don't care, but I'm not sure I want to shop with your company any longer. Have a nice day. I hung up and am still shaking my head at this entire conversation. Until today, I had never heard of or visited a Burkes Outlet. This store, located in the Wal-Mart shopping mall, was clean and had a decent amount of inventory. It was spacious and I did not feel crowded or rushed. Some of the inventory was in the wrong size category but it was easy to sort through. Brand names such as PGA, Dockers, Reebok and Carhartt clothing was on the rack at prices I liked. Keep in mind this is in the men's section. I did not look closely at the women's selection. The store personnel I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Periodic announcements about security and the availability of help di dmake me feel secure although the neighborhood did not strike me as bad in any way.

Did not say hello, nor welcome, and I actually think she may have glared at us! My friend had been there before and was treated with the same cold-shoulder and reluctantly went in with me because I wanted to check it out. In shock. How can you run a business like this? The merchandise was mediocre. The only star I'll give it was their wide selection of Mudpie dishes. And a cute shirt that said NASH in the army MASH theme. That's it. All the other stores on the Crawl were friendly and pleasant. Still in shock about this place.
