We are a full time full service clock shop. Repairs on all type of mechanical clocks. Antique clock is our specialty. We do house calls for large clocks. Wide variety of clocks and general antiques for sale.

History

Established in 1995.

Started in 1995. I am a second generation clockmaker. My dad started in 1975, he still come to the shop almost every day to see what is going on.

We have a Chippendale chair made in the mid-18th century. The fabric on the seat was applied in the…read more1970's, and the chair needed reupholstering. Several fabric shops suggested that we use Spivey's Upholstery because of Mr. Spivey's knowledge of antique furniture. We took the chair to Mr. Spivey and shared with him something of the chair's provenance. In a few days he contacted us and told us that he had been doing some research on our chair and found artifacts in the piece suggesting that in the 1930's the owner attempted a restoration of the chair. Some of the materials and techniques used for the 1930 restoration were not authentic to the period of the chair's manufacture. He asked if we wanted him simply to replace what he found, or to use traditional techniques and materials. We assured him that we wanted the chair as nearly identical to its original design as possible. I was astounded at Mr. Spivey's knowledge, his willingness to do intensive research and his skill in restoring the Chippendale chair to its original glorious appearance. As he worked on the chair, he continued to find features in the wood revealing how the chair had originally been assembled, covered and decorated. Mr. Spivey followed these cues and produced a chair that is genuinely a work of art. We are heartily delighted with Mr. Spivey's expertise and skill, and we offer the highest recommendation possible.

The lady who checked us out was so nice and even gave a tip to air fry the oatmeal cream pie. With a life hack like that you can't say the service isn't stellar! We will continue making our way to Garden Valley for our yearly plant/flower purchases in the future!

Great local outdoor market that sells everything from plants, hanging baskets, flats of flowers,…read morepottery, jams, jeelloes, picked items, local made syrups all types of produce and fruit locally farmed. There is a large dirt parking lot that holds plenty of cars. The one issue I have with this market is that the it is outdoor and the produce ripens quickly in the heat. Sometimes you have to hunt and pick through the selection to get fruit and vegetables that are not on the cusp of being overripe. I am only one person, so I cannot possible eat a whole melon in one day and need it to last a while. The owner is nice and all the employees are helpful. I do find the produce a bit expensive, but I really like the vibe of this local market and like to support them.

I have enjoyed seeing the transformation of a gas and bait store into a tremendously varied wine, beer, food, exotic tonic waters, and yes, gas and bait store :-) Now, during the growing season, you can get fresh, locally sourced produce! My absolute favorite is heirloom tomatoes. I almost hate to say that because the good ones are so hard to find! Trust me, add some basil, good balsamic vinegar, and virgin olive oil and you will think you're in heaven.
