I was sort of excited to be back to the Theodore Alexander Outlet.... but since TA has been bought…read moreby a Chinese Investment firm the selection is a disaster. My visit on Saturday November 14, 2020 was a total waste of my time. Eighty percent of the case goods were deeply scratched. Even wooden chairs with upholster were scratched of dinged. Everything was just thrown into the space..... no room to walkabout. The sofas were very lackluster, drab, faded or really way out there fabrics (silver and turquoise leathers). Everything seemed to be damaged showroom samples from "TA Studio" NOT "Theodore Alexander" and not much from the traditional range.... which built the company. I did see a small traditional table but the leather top was delaminating (sorry no thanks). Most of everything else on the floor was mid Century or Contemporary. What shocked me the most was the middle aged saleswoman telling me that "we won't sell the "seconds" from years past..... TA only sells first quality at the Outlet." I'm sure customers who pay the thousands per piece would not be too happy to hear that. There were few occasional contemporary side tables that seemed ok.... but no lamps to speak of.... and a few sad decorative objects. Overall.... very disappointing..... don't waste your time. By the way, the photos of vignettes are NOT the showroom but staged studio shots, not what you will see at the outlet. By the way, I found out Sue Kurtz (former Manager) doesn't work at the outlet anymore. I talked to her on the phone to clarify. Im so glad that I purchased hundreds of beautifully made pieces for myself and clients for 75-90 percent off. Those days have gone. I suggest you go to FurnitureLand South to order for great discounts and 100 percent not damaged pieces.
