Absolutely useless department and terrible for community residents that truly need assistance…read more The department is touted as we assist with water bills that are behind on payment. You can only call on Tuesdays and Thursday s starting at 830am. Although you will never get through to them on the phone as I've been calling for the last 2.5 weeks and I've called 47 different times and not 1 of my calls has been answered. I'm sure there are people in Genesee county that need assistance although most people will die from waiting so long for this vCard office to answer your phone call. I've called exactly at 830am, 831am. It doesn't matter they don't answer. For 9 minutes each day the answering message will say we are experiencing high call volume currently please try again later. Then around 940am the message for the day changes to an automated message saying you've reached gcard and please listen to these options, this means that they have reached there quota for the day and no longer will take any calls. This office is ran very poorly. Its unprofessional and not transparent with the public it claims it serves.

These opportunities may include pre-school training through our Head Start department for the young; receiving additional and/or job training in order to find a permanent job; seeking and finding of adequate housing if displaced; receiving of nutritional meals delivered on a daily basis, or receiving home improvement repairs when necessary.
