Catherine has been our management company for our property in Murrieta for nearly 10 years. Their service through the years has been great, keeping our tenants happy and addressing any services that needed attention for the home. Our supervision of the house was very minimal needing not much more than just our approval for maintenance of equipment and plumbing. As owners of the rental, we did very little which is exactly what we wanted! Where Catherine really shined was during our process of finally selling. Catherine was extremely attentive and offered sound advice. Our intent was to sell the house years before, with a different agent. Unfortunately we were unable to sell because the timing just wasn't right. We backed out of selling and Catherine immediately filled the vacancy within a couple days with eager renters from her large pool of clientele, preventing us to pay for an unoccupied home. When we were ready to sell again, she advised us when it was a good opportunity to do so. And it was comforting that she was confident in the information she provided us and was with us every step of the way. Selling our very first home was a big step for us. Being new to the process, she answered all our questions, was patient with us, and guided us through each step and eased many of our concerns. She was very attentive, and our sale went though without problems. She was able to list our home and provided us with multiple offers to chose from in a couple days. Then ultimately closed escrow on target. We are sad to part ways with her, but we are so grateful for her and the awesome services she provided. She has been with us for a long time and when she handled the sale of our home it was as if she was selling her own primary residence. My experience with Catherine has been amazing. 5 . I couldn't be happier with the service I received from my realtor Catherine Schiffer. Catherine and I go back to 2018 when I was going through my divorce and I needed to relocate. I met Catherine through a mutual friend and decided to take her on as my realtor. She took the time to get to know me and understand exactly what I was looking for. Tbh, I didn't even know exactly what I was looking for. But I knew I wanted a pool. She lead me on my journey that consisted of me look at 32 homes. Throughout the process, she always reassured me that if it's not exactly what I want, we will look at another. She definitely made the whole situation that was extremely stressful, easy and organized. Come 2025 my kids are all grown and the house that I previous bought with Catherine has all of a sudden become too big. It was also time for a change for me. So I called Catherine to the rescue. It was a natural choice. The first 3 months of trying to sell the house was very stressful. The house wasn't moving. There economy is flat and Catherine was with another brokerage. In the 3 months, not even one offer came in. The day that I was going to cut ties with Catherine and her old brokerage, was the same day that Catherine called me to tell me she changed brokerages and became a team member of Compass. After interviewing, the new team that Catherine has joined, I decided to give them a chance. The house went off the market immediately to be re-staged. Between the new marketing, new pictures, new videos, and new brokerage. (Only Catherine was the same) The house sold on the first day of going back on the market, at open house. Dp properties might be legit when it comes to selling properties, but we have rented from this company for the past 5 years. Do yourself a favor and don't. If you have any problems with your rental, like maintenance issues. We had our air conditioner go out in the middle of summer last year and it took them 2 weeks just to get out a maintenance guy to look at it then another 2 weeks to get it fixed. Lets don't talk about the mold in the windows that was ignored for almost a year. One of our friends uses her company and when they moved in Catherine sent her somebody else lease agreement with all private and confidential information to her. Whoopsie, that's not your lease. Our friend has the exact same issue when trying to get stuff fixed. When we finally did our walk through with the owner Catherine and I asked her about the over 15 request for maintenance that was put in while we had a rental agreement and ignored. The only thing she wanted to know, does this house have any water leaking currently. I have given you fair warning. Catherine runs the most unprofessional property management you could possibly imagine. Zero communication unless DP properties needs something. Read other reviews. Stay far away. read more

I don't have a lot of experience with property management companies but needed one to manage my home in Temecula when we moved north. DP Properties was our second property manager and head and shoulders above the first one but still not perfect. Communication is my main issue. Calls and emails are not always returned as promptly as I would like and this month, I was charged for a $300 repair on my home I'd heard nothing about. My tenants took forever to sign a renewal lease but I was never notified when it was done. I'm still not sure anyone from DP Properties has done a home inspection on my place and it's been a year now. Yes, they'll collect your rent and send it to you. I like their web portal but it only provides minimal information -- for example, the recent repair on my place isn't there although the amount paid to the handyman is. They charge more than my last property manager but he was a jerk who lied to us so I was willing to pay more. Not sure there are better choices out there, but do your own due diligence. read more

I would like to say that I am very disappointed in your company. We had a scheduled viewing of a home this morning at 10:00am. No one showed up. No one called back. All we got was someone in a call center that was barely able to speak English. We took the morning off of work to look at this home as promised from your company. I am confused as to why your business has 3 separate accounts- 2 for DP Properties and one for strictly real estate? That's very misleading. I have rented from them for 2 years, and was told that the owner would be out of the country for 3 years or more & if they did come back, they would not force us to vacate. Well, 2 years later we get the notice to vacate in 60 days as the owner is moving back into the house. This puts our family in a bind - Given that it's a renter's market at the moment, we have been up against 40+ applicants for properties that accommodate both our incomes and fit our personal preference/needs. Yes, our lease was up in 30 days but we found a home that perfectly fit us and asked to move out a little early, a month early to be exact. Immediate response was no and legal contract was used against us. (I understand contracts, but it did hurt to attempt and ask). Supposedly, the owner was asked but I highly doubt this is the case. I think it was more of a automatic no to please their owner and throw their renter out. The worst part about it is, we were told that we would be helped in searching for a new home. I went about finding my own place by emailing ads on Zillow & CL - one of them being a DP Properties-managed home, as the owner was the one who responded to my email. I forwarded my complaint with the lack of help we've gotten - and got an oblivious response from the property manager that they had no knowledge of that property. Lack of communication. The entire time we've lived in one of their properties, we never heard from them other than marketing emails to promote their business. I would recommend that they take the time to care for their clients both renters and owners a bit more hands on rather than appearing with a lease agreement and being quick to push their renters out. Their customer service and relations are disappointing. I wish the best for their future renters - please do your best to look elsewhere first before settling. read more

I was looking for a home in Hemet, CA. I turned in all of the proper paperwork on time. In the middle of the application I flew to Ohio to get my boys from summer vacation. I told both Catherine as well as Nicole. I received a call from Catherine stating that I was approved for the house. I was in Las Vegas having a layover flight. But I returned the call with excitement, sent an email as well. The following day I called Catherine as well as Nicole again. I was told that Catherine's Bluetooth was having a malfunction and she would return my call. I sent emails, text messages, and made phone calls. Nothing. The following day I was told that another application was approved an I was being denied. Very unprofessional to tell one person you have been approved and give the house to someone else. I was told because the other applicant has a credit score if 800! read more

We are a military family who needed to rent out our home. With orders overseas, we were searching for a trust worthy property manager. DP Properties had been managing our home since 2009. I haven't had too many issues with them. The rent is deposited on time. The application process for tenants is vague. The only complaint I have is communication from either Catherine or the staff. They don't get back to you in a timely manner or sometimes not even at all. Unless, they need any information from you. They are on you constantly. I would recommend this company ONLY if you are completely hands off. As a homeowner you need to know your home is in good hands. I had to keep asking for monthly statements when I first started with them. It took me a while to get used to it. This made me uneasy for my choice of property management, but once overseas my hands were tied. Only wish they would conduct frequent walk-throughs other than the yearly ones they do. When the tenants vacated my home, the carpet had to be replaced. The tenants also allowed the cable company to drill through the walls, not ok. Tenants had a dog, in which I wasn't notified. I didn't receive any extra pet deposit in my account for this. Very disappointing. Don't hire this company! read more

where should i start!? my wife and i were expecting my son back in january 2012 and we needed to find a place and were looking at all ads and came across a very nice 3 bedroom/2 bath house in a very nice neighborhood in lake elsinore, ca. being our first time ever renting, we were very cautious but didn't know much. we contacted dp properties to set up an appointment to see the house, which was near mcvicker park in lake elsinore, and met with amanda to view the house. it was very awkward cause the people still renting was still inside and we felt very weird opening doors and closets to see their stuff. and yes, amanda was nice "in the beginning", she told us that we had a very good chance on renting that place, since there was others viewing the house. when we told her our situation and our concerns, she answered them pretty well and told us that the rent would be $1375 a month with landscaping included and a $1375 move in deposit and since we had a dog, we payed a $300 dog deposit, so total, we payed $1675 to move in. all was looking good. i drove down to their office off ynez rd to pay the move in deposit and at first, i walked into their office and got no help, then a guy (can't recall name) didn't speak english very well and didn't seem to have a clue on what he was doing, took my check and said that catherine perrotta would meet us there to sign contracts and give us keys. so we finally met there before the move in date and the house was empty, i walked around and took lots of pictures of the damaged walls, landscaping, garage, interior/exterior, and also took notes. catherine did the same, she took all but about 8 pictures...compared to my 43 pictures (and i later found more damages and took more pictures) and told us what rent was, the washer/dryer was included, the fridge was included, what mail box "she thinks" is ours, and, oh, yeah, landscaping is not included! she said that amanda probably mistaken that the landscaping was included with another property. yet, she met us at that property to show the house! then said "all you have to do is make sure the weeds are pulled and the lawn was mowed (the cheapest electric lawn mower ever was provided), so i said it was ok then. finally, the real fun happens!!! once we moved in, a month in, the dryer breaks down...we put in an order and they had some cheap, never kept his appointments, was always late, made a mess, was a flake, and hardly knew what he was doing maintenance man come in to fix it! he was 2 days late, didnt leave our house till 11pm, demanded water to drink and scratched up the washer machine with his tools! oh, and he didnt fix it cause he didnt have the parts, so he came a week later to fix it with the right part. then a couple more month in, we were told that hoa (home owners association) took the time to look through our fence...into the backyard...and told dp properties that we had to pick up our dog mess. dp told us that they could get fined and they will bill us! i then got mad and told them they were full of it and that it was an evasion of privacy. they followed up by saying it wasnt and that the "owner came by and saw it too''. and i told them that i pick up my dog's mess every day. and the funny thing is that, dp properties called my wife to ask if my dog bites?? wtf! really! cause hoa wanted to know. bull shit! so that started to make us uneven...then we get another call from dp saying that hoa wants us to clean up this slope we had in front of the house and that "again" we will be billed and that the poor home owners are getting irritated from hearing it from hoa. so we are constantly getting harassed to fix the problem. i told amanda that ive been pulling all the weeds and i do not know what they are talking about. she then tells me to call hoa myself to fix the problem. so i do, and hoa tells me they cant talk to me cause i am not the owner. but hints thats it's not a weed issue (the slope was all dirt) which i told dp properties! so the poor owner came to have plants planted and was angry she had to do so! i got no apology for them blaming me nor for the constant calls and emails telling me to fix it or i will be billed! then the owners son pops up one morning, irrigating the lawn which wakes up my son sleeping and leaves a mess in the driveway and tells me he wants to look around the backyard (just because) so i said, go ahead...its your moms house. so speeding this review up!!....the dryer breaks down again and we put a ticket in for that....the fridge broke down twice, making all our food go bad and both dryer and fridge was ignored up until a month before we moved out! catherine set up the walk through, didnt show up and rescheduled! when we moved out, she told us all was good and we got signed off. then they have the nerve to not give us our deposit cause the owners were complaining. message me if you want to hear the rest (out of typing space) hope this helps! read more
