Heart of Telluride is right in the middle of Colorado Ave. walking distance to everything. Shopping? It's all around. Food? Everything is right there. Grocery? liquor? Right here. Gondola and ski lifts? Quick 2 block walk. If you ski, they also provide lockers right at the base of the mountain. And if you like to partake in the 420 action, they have it. This place is three stories with a condo at the bottom that can be separate or can be rented along with the top 2 floors if you have a lot of folks. We rented the entire place so that means 2 kitchens, 2 washer dryers, 2 living areas, etc. The downtsfairs condo itself is gorgeous and would be awesome if you just have 2 people. King bed, steam shower, living area, fully appointed kitchen. Come up the stairs to the second floor where you find a huge master bedroom with king bed, huge master bath with steam shower and a stand alone tub. There is a washer dryer on this floor. Another bedroom has king bed, full bath, and entrance to the back itself in case you want to sneak in late. Another bedroom also without a bathroom inside but there's one across the hall. Did I mention that bathrooms have robes and slippers? And that the floors are heated? And that the bedrooms have fireplaces? It's truueeee! Then we have the top floor with an awesome kitchen with top of the line appliances and everything you need. And a nice sized living/ dining area along with a bar too. The patio outside is a superstar! Lots of furniture. Hot tub!! Grill!! Views or the mountain and town. The guy that met us and showed us the House was a wealth of info. And we were greeted with a gift basket in the upstairs and downstairs kitchens with wine, bread, a box full of chocolate treats, cheese, coffee, etc. Basically, you feel like the queen (or king) of the mountain if you stay at Heart of Telluride. This is the only way to do it!!

Then when we got to the property several days before our wedding it was not ready for us (I have several photos). the owner was outside the mornings of my wedding planting flowers because they were not done before my arrival. I had several family members help me pull weeds and sweep and clean the reception area because I could not set up without those things being done and the owner was not responding. even now 11 months after my wedding he has yet to return my security deposit. the owners was nothing but unprofessional when working with him. like I said, my wedding was beautiful but honestly I would have chose somewhere else to get married if I would have know the headaches and stress this man was going to cause.

There is also a long counter area with a sink, microwave, and small refrigerator. The proprietors supplied the room with a portable burners, if you wish to cook. Since there weren't restaurants in the area, we stopped at Whole Foods in Denver and stocked up on food for the weekend. After a long day of hiking, this was a great place to relax and unwind. Oh yes, there was also wireless internet for those who must stay connected. Liz was a great host to us. She offered to loan us winter gear for our trek, and she had homemade peanut butter cookies waiting for us upon our return. We stayed two nights- early the morning of our attempt at Mt Elbert, she made a robust breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. The next morning was more relaxed, and she met us with pancakes and sausage. Delicious. The view was wonderful as well- on the patio, there are plenty of chairs to lounge around an outdoor fireplace, and there is a jacuzzi. All this overlooks Twin Lakes and the majestic mountains in the background. Next time, I hope to indulge in the outdoor amenities!

They have an awesome home, which they've shared with us as a B&B. Liz has cooked great us many great breakfasts and we've shared awesome conversations about all things in life - kids, life, teaching and the Leadville 100 MTB race. Since they live along the Leadville MTB race route and usually have racers staying with them, for the race they go out to cheer on and support the racers. They have a beautiful home, which I wish I could actually buy since they're selling it to move on to their next chapter in life. However, until they sell it appears they will either rent the entire house or just the B&B portion. Don't hesitate to contact James or Liz to spend the night or even 10 days with them... You won't regret it! We really hope to can stay at A Wolf Den for the 2015 Leadville race. Not only have Liz & James been great inn keepers, they have become friends whom we'll keep in touch with for years to come.

This is a great place to bring your family to relax around the campfire in the evening; and during the day go hiking, fishing, do some horseback riding, or sightseeing in the surrounding area. The Hinger family has been running Bruce Spruce Ranch since 1966, so it's a family owned business. I really thought it was incredibly romantic stopping by! We stumbled upon Bruce Spruce Ranch in West Fork Campground. We absolutely enjoyed how hot and humid it was in May of this year and enjoyed interacting with the horses. They are incredibly busy, so it was kind of tricky to reserve a spot. I admired looking at all the horses and their many colors. Back in the Day: The cabins rented for somewhere in the area of $2.00 per night, and reservations were made at least a year in advance. Today, the four Hingers, with the help of other family members, continue operating the guest ranch and making improvements, welcoming some families every year into the fourth generation. It is a great place to bring family to relax, fish, hike, sight-see or go horseback riding.

Loved being able to chop our own wood for the evening fires. The star gazing is amazing! Nice variety of spots for your RV needs. Didn't really look in to the cabins during our stay, but they had a nice amount of options scattered throughout the property. Kids loved being able to fish in the stocked ponds on the property. Just past the ranch are some nice trails and creeks to check out without having to drive far (if at all). Tent area of the property was small, but really some great spots to be had. Lots of trees in that area for shade or to hang your hammock.

Hillside Colorado Cottages is such a perfect location to unwind and decompress; a great opportunity to unplug from all of your mobile devices. So, heads up here! If you're looking for a place where you will be guaranteed cell phone service, this most likely isn't the best option for you. If you truly want to "unplug" and decompress, without all the daily distractions, this is the place for you. My cottage was clean and quiet. I had beautiful views of the mountains. I also saw a family of deer at dusk, not too far from my cabin. I thought that Westcliffe was peaceful. Hillside is quieter.... Shhhh..... Perfect setting to go on your own spiritual retreat. This is exactly what I needed for what I've had going on in my life lately. I feel recharged. Looking forward to spending another evening at Hillside Colorado Cottages.

It was lovely to wake up to and such a nice change of scenery (and humidity) from STL. I am unsure of the name of the cottage we stayed in, but it had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This was perfect for the bridal party, as there were 4 of us. We had enough room to get ready in the living room with hair and makeup without feeling cramped. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. I recommend bringing disposable silverware, cups, and plates to save you time on dishes if you have a big party! The venue offered a lot of other cottages for the bride and groom, as well as the groomsmen. It was easy to hop from building to building. My favorite part was where cocktail hour was- it was under the willows (gorgeous) and offered shade and such a casual outdoorsy feeel. They also had lights hanging up and a couch. So cool. It was an intimate ceremony with great views. Everyone was so accommodating and lovely!! Thank you.
