The change in caterer was sudden and unexpected, so naturally we were nervous about changing such a huge part of our wedding so relatively close to the wedding day, especially since we had already signed a contract with the previous caterer. From the start, Verba's set our minds at ease and assured we would be taken care of. They honored the prices and inclusions from our contract with the previous caterer to the best of their ability, which shows how flexible and honest they are. They truly went above and beyond to make sure our reception was everything we envisioned; from food, to reception set up and take down, to service, and making sure us and our guests were fully accommodated. The food was absolutely delicious (compliments to chef Joe and his entire kitchen staff) and our guests raved to us about it. Nathan was AMAZING at communicating with us throughout the entire process and truly made sure everything was exactly what we wanted, and left no question or request unanswered. We would highly recommend using Verba's to cater your wedding reception, whether at one of their venues or your own.

It is absolutely beautiful our guests were blown away. Im going to tell you about all the cool things but first I have to tell you about the family who runs it, they are the kindest most helpful easiest people to work with. From when we met them until even after the wedding they were extremely helpful and make you feel like you are part of their family. Even my guests commented on how awesome they were. They really put the cherry on top, great people. Besides the beauty of this place which speaks for itself it also has 2 rooms to get ready in. One is a bridal suite that has mirrors/lights/chairs for getting ready. My bridesmaids and I had our hair and makeup done in this room and it was so great. There is another seperate room for the guys to get ready in that is also very nice. The bar is a tiki bar! Who doesn't like tiki bars, who has a bad time at a tiki bar...no one. There is a lake which adds to the whole vibe and captain rod will give people boar rides. My guests loved loved loved that. The tent is huge and the sides open and let a great breeze in from the water. There are 2 different options of where you can married on the property. We choose the island wedding where it is surrounded by water and your guests have to walk over a beautiful bridge. Also super cool bc when the bride walks over it adds drama. There is also a arch on the property that you can decorate and use.. Not to mention the beautiful landscaping of this place! I cannot say enough good things about this great place and the wonderful people who own and run it. 100% would recommend.

The bridal suites (separate for both the groom and the bride) are newly renovated and top of the line. So cozy and so comfortable which makes getting ready a breeze. The outdoor location is GORGEOUS! Right on the water, it offers a great location for guests to enjoy and for beautiful pictures. The whole area is concrete so you do not have to worry about dirt or rocks ruining shoes or dresses. There is a tiki bar, a full kitchen, and a covered area that can also have the walls open to get a great breeze off the lake. One thing to note is you do bring everything yourself. You have to provide the alcohol and the food, etc, but it allows you to be creative and be in charge of every detail. With all that being said, the staff hands down is the best. They're so helpful and hands on and will be there with whatever questions you may need! Overall amazing place that I highly would recommend!

She was professional, kind, and extremely attentive--open to meeting with us multiple times, walking us through different options, and offering suggestions that we never would have thought of on our own. Her advice truly helped shape the flow of our day and made planning so much less stressful. The venue itself is stunning--elegant yet comfortable, with plenty of space for guests to enjoy themselves. The sound system and microphones worked perfectly and we had a good time dancing the night away. Everything ran so smoothly thanks to the staff's organization and attention to detail. And then there's the food--hands down the highlight of the night for so many of our guests. They offer both American and Eastern European cuisine, but we went with an Eastern European menu, and it was honestly one of the best decisions we made. We got to select 7 appetizers/salads, 3 meat dishes, and 3 hot sides, plus dessert ( napoleon cake and fresh fruit). Every single dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and generous in portion. The food was so good people were still talking about it weeks later! What really sets Gilmour apart, though, is how much they care. We never felt like "just another booking." The owner and staff genuinely wanted us to have the best day possible, and their warmth and hospitality made such a difference. If you're planning a wedding, anniversary, birthday, or any special celebration, I cannot recommend Gilmour enough. They gave us a night we'll never forget, and I'm so grateful to them for making our wedding feel truly magical.

The Lodge at Allardale is a Medina County Park's District venue…read more I visited for my friend Kate's wedding reception in October 2025. The pricing must be competitive but call them to find out. The lodge is a medium sized venue that fits just under 100 people. There is an outside grassy area that is slightly hilly but can be perfect for stepping out for a summer event or a summer wedding. It isn't a fancy place but it does the job well. I believe the venue provided the food and the wedding party brought their own music and entertainment. The food was a nice dinner of a starter course (salad, I think), a main dish (meats), and a dessert (I forgot what was served for dessert). Drinks were provided to from non-alcoholic to alcoholic.
