I truly believe there is nothing those two couldn't do. They are Immensely talented in more ways than you can imagine. They literally do it all! From MCing, to DJing, to catering, photography, makeup, custom props, photo booths, event-planning, I mean on and on the list goes! Now for me, they provided photography and DJ/MC services (seamlessly, I might add)! However their services/abilities don't stop there, they offer much, much more! So let me tell you a little bit about Cateraoke. They are organized, creative, smart, prompt, reliable, original, intuitive and consummate professionals! I am not exaggerating when I say that I have not one negative piece of feedback to share about them! Let me tell you about my experience ladies, pull up a chair... So like most of you this was my first, (and last wedding). So naturally I was completely clueless and overwhelmed!! My grand plan of non-stop "Pinteresting", "Facebooking", "Instagraming", and bridal "magazining" couldn't actually prepare me for the big day. Not only are they uber-creative and original but they're also seriously professional and organized. Every phone call appointment, every promised email delivery, every in person visit was exactly when they promised it would be. I must also say that as a busy full-time working mother of two I fell behind a few times when it came to my homework, but they kept pushing me to get it done and I'm so glad I did because everything came out exactly like I wanted. I had a vision, and they did everything in their power to execute it, including pushing me to get it all done on time. This persistence and consistency from Josh and Alex was all throughout, and beyond the wedding even down to receiving my finished pictures. They made sure that I received them exactly when promised. And let me tell you boy, they were worth the wait!! Not only were the pictures just stunning, but even the packaging was beautiful and so personal!!! They are just so...well so Perfect! They really do think of everything, even things you didn't know you needed. Take for example my hair and makeup. I honestly didn't even know prior to the event that they did hair and makeup, but I soon found out when in between photos they started touching me up! It was so pleasantly surprising!! I am beyond disappointed in how I was treated as a potential client. I reached out in mid February for a quote on services like DJ/MC, day of coordinator, photographer, videographer & photobooth. Literally a complete wedding package. At first it took a couple days to respond which is understandable. I went with it. After a couple email exchanges Alex responded to me letting me know she had all the information she needed and that she will get back to me during the weekend. This was a Wednesday. Weekend came... no response. Weekdays came... no response. Another weekend passed... nothing. I responded to her today letting her know it's beyond unprofessional to make your clients wait for a quote 12 days later... I am soo glad I found out this is how the company treats its clients before I booked them. I was a client that asked for all of their services and would be a large account for them but the level of disorganization is unfathomable. Please go elsewhere! She literally wasted so much of my time. I was hoping to book all of my vendors through one vendor. The search continues. read more

Cateraoke was the big hit of my daughters 10th birthday party! When my daughter mentioned she wanted a dance party birthday that included karaoke I went on the search for a local childrens DJ. To my surprise I couldn't find as many as I thought I would online. I did find a few good ones but they were located too far away and hiring them meant adding on an extra service charge for travel. Luckily I stumbled upon the Cateraoke website and gave them a call. Although they didn't seem like a childrens DJ specifically, I found out they had experience with all ages. As soon as I spoke to Alex, I knew they were the company we wanted! They were so enthusiastic and extremely helpful in planning the perfect song lists, games, themes, etc for the party. The day of the event they were punctual and very accomodating. Like all parties, there are always some things that go wrong the day of the event. Alex helped me with last minute decorating which we hadn't finished yet which was so awesome! Many guest arrived late because of traffic issues and Josh and Alex very humbly comped us an extra hour of Dj/Karaoke services since we had to extend the party time and they took some wonderful photo booth pictures for us after our own cameras battery died. On top of their generosity and genuine kindness, the DJ'd music, karaoke, lights and ambience were incredible and the hosting was fun ,professional and kept the party very lively! The highlight was a karaoke competition they put together and the kids loved it. They even supplied little trophies for the winners which was an awesome surprise! I wholeheartedly recommend Alex and Josh for any event! I hired them initially as just photographers and day-of-coordinator for our wedding this past March. Their portfolio was great and their rate was extremely reasonable. They were also very personable and easy to talk to and work with, and responding promptly with emails. During our engagement photo shoot they were such pros, putting us at ease (my husband and I are not big photo people!) and they were such troopers! It was 100+ degrees in DTLA, and they were great. They managed to make us look amazing despite the sweltering heat. Then, 2 months before our wedding my DJ had to drop out. He was also our photobooth guy as well. Alex and Josh were able to sweep in and helped us out! They took over DJ, karaoke, photobooth, AND styling, all at reasonable rates! I wish I had booked them for it all since the beginning! I am Chinese, and ended up including the Door Game and tea ceremony to the day. All this was at my mom's house in the SGV whereas the venue is the Nature History Museum. Alex and Josh actually came out to photograph it, despite me only booking them for my evening wedding, and I am extremely thankful they did. Put my mind at ease and it allowed my friends and family to enjoy their time. Alex and Josh also GOT my vision for my wedding. I DIYed a couple of things, and they understood my vision and my budget and they managed to make my whole wedding look and feel like I spent way more on it then I did! They had a wonderful team that had my wedding running smoothly, and they themselves busted their butts as the coordinators and photographers for my 100-person wedding. A few hiccups came up but they were quick to solve them and kept the groom and I relatively stress free for the whole wedding. My family, usually a critical bunch, had nothing but great things to say about the wedding. They loved the photobooth, which was so easy to use! Even the older, non-english speaking members of my family figured out how to use it. I still get compliments of the wedding now months later. I had my engagement shoot today with Alex and Josh. We had 2 different shoots a fancy one and then we shot some pictures at the Crossfit gym. Alex and Josh made my special day feel even more special! I am not a very photogenic or relaxed person however, Alex and Josh were able to make my fiancé and I feel comfortable in our poses and in our pictures. I would not recommend using them for your photos. First of all the photos aren't that great. Second we have asked them not to post our wedding photos on Facebook. Which they keep doing, also on there website is our photos. We are very upset with them and would not recommend there services to anyone. Best advice is find another Photographer. This is the second time we have used Paul and Josh (Cateraoke) for a very important event. The first time was just over a year ago for a big fundraiser we were having for our production company. After the success of that event and experiencing how great Paul and Josh handled the night; knowing when to have the volume up or down, when to cut it off for announcements and how friendly they were with every person that walked through the door, my fiancé and I didn't think twice about who we wanted to DJ our wedding this October. One thing I really love about Paul and Josh is that they're very open as to HOW an evening is to be DJ'd. At our fundraiser, I gave them a list of some artists I thought would work for the night, but really left it open to them to compile the songs. They did an excellent job at staying true to the mood we wanted, but bringing in a nice eclectic and varied list of songs and artists. For the wedding, on the other hand, my fiancé and I wanted to create our own playlists with the songs that specifically meant something to us. For us, it was more about being very in-tune and sensitive to the mood of the day and evening, and knowing how to adjust accordingly the volume and choice of when songs were to be played. To no surprise of mine or my now wife, the night went by perfectly! The music was never intrusive; it just accentuated the event to the right degree. A HUGE added bonus for us, which we really weren't expecting, was that Josh was willing to take pictures for us if we were cool with it. We were definitely cool with it and better yet, the pictures turned out phenomenal! We, once again, highly recommend Cateraoke! read more

Alex and Josh are experts in their field and two of the most amazing people we've been fortunate enough to work with. We received personalized attention and prompt responses, coupled with information and ideas that we never considered. Having one group handle the photography, the DJ, the photobooth, and the flowers took any real stress out of our day. The photobooth was a huge hit at our event and our guests really enjoyed the setup/look of the booth. I can not thank Alex and Josh enough. I hired them for wedding coordinator, photographer, dj, and photobooth on June 6th. I was so lucky to find them through yelp. Alex is one amazing woman, she is very on top of her game. I knew from the first conversation we had on the phone that she and I are compatible, a little more than my husband I'm sure. She is energetic , she knows what she's doing. She will hunt people down if need be and got the venue, catering, wedding rentals, on the same standards as she offered me. She gave me list of things to do, and if there are things that I can't do, she's on top of it. She never seem to amaze me of how organize she is, and even when there was a little incident during my wedding, she ran to me right away with water on her hand, got everyone out of the way and made sure I was okay. I tell her what I want and she does it without hesitation. She is an amazing decorator and I trusted her intuition and what she created was more than I could ever hope for. I think she and Josh makes a good team. Josh is more the business-like kind guy. I think he calms Alex down because I'm sure if Josh wasn't there for the important meetings, me and Alex would have just kept talking for hours about the wedding. I also applaud him for being patient with my family. I have a huge family, and we are loud and there were some language barriers because we speak Ilocano. He would tell people to stay in one place for a family photo, then the next thing you know they vanish as soon as he turns around. I felt so bad for him, but he kept it together and got all of them together for a huge family photo. I can't wait to see the pictures! What's great about Cateraoke is that they will work with your budget and they always find a way to make it work. They will make sure they will find the cheapest price for any items you need. They also played great music and their staff was very nice. I could have not asked for a better wedding and it was successful because of them. I secretly wish Alex was my life coordinator... lol...
