The shop was truly the meaning of a mom and pop store, as it was run by a really sweet wife and husband couple. They offered really friendly and gracious service. I've found that the smallest businesses sometimes offer the greatest value in terms of quality customer interactions.

You sit at beautifully decorated tables in a small dining area that is lined with shelves of wonderful home decor and candles that can be purchased. The menu is simple but offers plenty for someone looking for a light lunch. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are plenty. All of the food is home made and FRESH. You don't get that quality of food at most other places. I enjoyed every bite. Unfortunately, I didn't eat fast enough because she ran out of angel food cake before I could order it. I also had some of their flavored iced teas...they were good. This would make a great place for ladies to enjoy lunch or tea with friends or family while shopping at the DeWitt square...or even if you were shopping in Stuttgart...it would be worth the short drive. It's a touch of class in the middle of rural Arkansas. Don't forget to shop after you eat. Like I said, she's got some great gift items to take home with you. I purchased a great purse and jewelry on my way out the door. Oh, one other thing...she had a book for cake orders up by the cash register. I believe she's taking orders for another lady who actually makes the cakes. Those cakes were gorgeous. I would definitely give them a call for birthday, wedding or any other special occasions. She did a great job with fondant. I will definitely return each time I go to DeWitt.

So take your order to go or eat it in your car. The catfish is exceptional, ULTRA crispy and tender. The chicken strips are equally delicious, crispy and very fresh! I do love the fact that you can order items à la carte, even catfish and chicken. Expect a long wait. Even with a mere three cars in the parking lot, it'll take a good 20 minutes to receive a singular catfish filet. But the wait is totally worth it!

Remember the days when you had to make reservations and order your slice of pie before you got there? No more. Here's the issues...the food. I used to LOVE the Keo Classic. Now its avocado slices are too thin, the parmesan coating wasnt as crispy, and it wasnt warmed up enough. And...its about $5 more than it used to be. Next, the pie. It used to be just flawless, perfect smoothness of filling and nice high meringue. The meringue was still very good. However, the filling was floury tasting. It either had too much or wasnt cooked long enough. I lacked the decadence and creaminess of pies of the past. I can tell why it wasnt that crowded. Its just not the same and not an improvement. Maybe the new owners will take these comments to heart and fill the ultra quaint little cafe again.
