i have been to p.v. many times and with that being said i have stayed in many hotels here. and theres american standards and mexican standards.and im acustom to both. so i know what to exspect and what not too. if your looking for a bigname hotel this is not the one.this is a one of a kind unigue family run hotel with little added touches plants,colors,and100%mexican charm and american standards in and out and all over . im not really picky and fussy but i do expect a clean room,a very safe room, and one where the toilet flushes the water is hot and works and all the lights and t.v. work. you come to expect that when checking into a hotel of any kind but you dont always get that.as you can see ive stayed in places with NO hot water NO water presure the locks didnt work or the toilet stopped up everytime you flushed it so those are the first things i check when i get to my room but im PROUD TO SAY i did not have any of these problems at all the whole 9 days i stayed here and that is the first time i got all my needs and wants working at once no joke so i check in and im met by a very friendly outgoing attentive front desk clerk who confirms my room my info etc then shows me to my room and askes if its ok i say yes i settle in briefly then go out to eat since i was flying all day i never stayed in this area ever nor have i been in this area so is new to me as i get down stairs i ask the clerk some questions about the area and she gives me a wealth of knowledge from food to bars to shopping to anything i ask im impressed so i go out come back late that evening and they close the doors after 10-11 pm so i buzz to get in and the night clerk is friendly and outgoing as well so i put my dont disturb sign on my door and im not botherd at all the next day i like that cause some places still knock and come in even with the sign up so i go out and come back and my room is cleaned and refreshed and i happen to run into a man painting the roof top wall so i start a conversation and learn that hes the G.M. of the hotel carlos de leon that is the first time in all my life i have seen a gm doing painting and laboror on a hotel property and i worked at many hotels too so im impressed and speachless more and more i also suggest a few things and i see him interested in what im saying and it makes me feel good and feel like a valued guest not just another number he is very friendly and a wealth of knowledge of some of the history of the hotel if you ever meet him ask him about it is great to hear about the people and the past of this hidden jewel so after staying here for days already you learn who the staff is and your treated like family and the staff are all so helpful and attentive and outgoing its great they learned quickly that im a late sleeper so im not bothered once my whole time here. there are church bells in the distance but there faint HINT( hotel catedral) so what would you expect. and if the bells ring its not the hotels fault the hotel is located in a little nieborhood it adds to the althentic mexican feel.i have many friends in the area so i had many messages left for me while i was out and i recieved everyone of them.my room always had clean towels and soap when my friend came to pick me up on many occasions he was treated with respect and treated very well thank you i spent more time in my room this time then any other time do to its comfort and relaxing colors and great air conditioning i went home very calm very relaxed and very happy knowing that i found the hotel i will be staying at everytime i visit pv and i do 2-3 times a year i cant wait to go back thank you carlos and the staff of hotel catedral for making my trip and my stay a memorabal one from the front desk to the house keeping to the managment 100%happiness and satisfaction in customer service mucho gracias mi amigos read more
