So glad we went upstairs to check this place out because I am very firm in my belief that it is the best gachapon store in this plaza. The other gachas were $3/token and most of them were 4 tokens per spin, but Catch has such a wide variety of machines and their tokens are $2, also they currently have a small deal going where you can get extra tokens if you spend $20+. I was relatively happy with my choices until the "mystery" gachapon revealed itself to me for 1 token, it lay low like a snake stalking its prey. With bated breath I put one in and I cannot tell you the amount of despair I felt as a one inch fighter jet came out. There weren't even other fighter jets on the paper it came with. I was genuinely devastated, instead of getting something I actually loved. I get this stupid plane that I'm going to burn to the ground for my $2 worth of entertainment. My fault entirely of course. But besides my severe lapse in judgement. They have so many choices in terms of blind boxes and collectibles too! The store is really clean and well maintained, with lots of space for walking unlike the other cramped stores around. Definitely recommend! read more

This place is fun if you're into mystery blind boxes, anime figures, and Gashapon machines. The store is located in The Japanese Village, upstairs. If you can take the stairs, do so because the elevator takes too long. The store is spacious and fairy clean. The employees have a lot of down time since there are self-service machines to purchase tokens from and customers are usually there for the Gashapon machines. Most of the time, the employees are seen on their phones. Depending on which machine you want to play, cost can get expensive. read more

Location should definitely consider trades for the gatcha machines, I spent 40$ to only receive 11 of the exact same item plush in the only rilakkuma theme machine... I understand completely that's it's all a gamble but there was not much variety in that machine at all unfortunately I will say there was cute merchandise I have bought before half the store turned into the gatcha machines read more

I believe Catch is the sister store to Maneki Neko, and while they carry many similar types of products, Catch has its own fun twist that makes it worth checking out. One of the most intriguing things about this shop is their coin machine experience. You can exchange cash for coins (about $2 per coin) and use them on different prize machines filled with cute items and collectibles. I haven't tried it out myself just yet, but it definitely looks like a fun activity. They have a ton of different machines to browse through, and it adds a playful arcade-like vibe to the store. The shop itself is fairly spacious and very neatly organized. Everything is displayed in a clean, aesthetically pleasing way, which makes browsing around really enjoyable. Like many stores that carry Sanrio and anime merchandise, some items can be a bit pricey. As for customer service, there's not much to say. I don't recall being greeted and there hasn't been much interaction with employees besides at checkout. That said, it's still a fun place to shop and explore. One thing to note is that the store is a little hidden--it's located upstairs near the parking payment machines--so you might miss it if you're not looking for it. Great place to find even niche collectibles like Monday Bruce which I couldn't find in many stores. Smiskis were about $13 and authentic. There were many options for smiskis as well. I loved their gotcha options, I got 3 pieces for about $4-$6 each and they were so cute including the miffy pointing gotcha ($4), miffy suitcase gotcha ($4, suitcase opens up and handles pops up) and the Sanrio glasses studio hello kitty gotcha ($6). Located on the third floor of the Japanese Village Plaza Parking Garage (111 S Central Ave). They do validation here. I was amazed when I went through the door. The place is HUGE!!! So many blind boxes, plushies, gashapon, and so much more. I went slowly through the aisles and saw many blind boxes that I wanted. The gashapon was fun to check out. Okay, alright, I admit, I was a bit skeptical about one of these places opening in Little Tokyo. I honestly thought it was going to be a copy paste of all of the other Gacha places and just be blind box slop hell, but you know what, this place actually has A LOT of variety. Yeah, they got your Sonny Angels, Labubus, and other Popmart goods, but they also have other franchises and licenses, various anime (Haikyuu, Demon Slayer, Naruto, etc.), Sanrio, Hatsune Miku, Poke'mon, etc. There's lots of miniatures (car related - stick shift/wheels, vending machines, etc.), other Sanrio and Chiikawa gachapon (that aren't the ones that are offered everywhere), and other gachapon machines where, again, they're not the same copy paste you see from every Bandai location. I also like that they have tables for people to open their goods and that they're fostering a community since they have trade days here too. Also, pretty neat that they have random Japanese decor inside too like the samurai armor, Taiko drums, and the post boxes. If you're into blind boxes there blind boxes upon blind boxes upon blind boxes, though they have displays of the items too which is nice. I also think the prices may somewhat be competitive since there was a Miffy Halloween one that was $2 cheaper than elsewhere in Little Tokyo. Checking their website, I didn't know that this was also owned by Maneki Neko (note: I miss their old location -before they moved again i the mall- with the $1 discount bin, I got really good cosmetics from that). It is definitely worth stopping by to check it out. Though, I guess I'm so niched and esoteric that I couldn't find anything that piqued my interest enough to buy from such a huge shop. read more

Originally found out about this place through Maneki Neko's Instagram since it is their sister store. We finally got to check it out this past weekend and what a treat! It's basically connected through the Japanese plaza parking structure and right around the corner from Neko Stop by the tower. Up the stairs and you'll find it! Staff are super friendly and this place is HUGE. Didn't expect this place to be this big, it's like a huge warehouse which is really nice. We walked around and ended at the gacha machines of course. The amount of pokemon gacha I haven't seen or rarely ever see was fantastic! This store is literally a pokemon collector's dream. They even have all the pokemon re-ment, new and old, with great prices. Absolutely in love with this store and looking forward to coming back already and spending more money lol!! Great shop for gifts as well, not just pokemon fans but they have a lot of cute anime figures and Funko pops as well. Catch is a heaven for gacha lovers! Their gashapon selection is way better than the Bandai store on the ground floor. They have tons of quirky, cute, and fun gashapons to select from - and the best part is no dupe machines! Their tokens are $2 a piece, with each machine requiring 2-4 tokens. (This is also cheaper than Bandai!) If you're into blind boxes, they have plenty as well! And finally, if you don't want to gamble they have plenty of cute plushies, stationery, anime figures, and other merch. Great to go for all the "miniso" items good price but as far as "pop mart" merch its a bit overpriced. Monchhichi's are doubled the price. You can find it for regular in other stores nearby. But the selection is pretty large. Located in second floor. read more

I've been needing a Gashapon store to fill the void due to the official Bandai shops increasing their prices to $3/token! So when I saw that Catch opened with all these options back at $2/token, I had to come see their selection. They have plenty of machines for all your anime and kawaii needs. What's even better is that I met the owner, who is such a sweetheart! He was personally taking care of and filling the machines with new capsules. He assured me that they would get much more in stock and expand the number of machines eventually! They already have a good selection that I haven't seen elsewhere. I am very excited that there is a new Gashapon spot I can reliably come to with fair prices again. They also validate your parking for one hour as long as you spend $20, which will never be a problem for me haha. If Gashapon isn't your thing, they have plenty of other blind boxes and figures and items. Can't wait to come back! Just sad it's quite a bit of a drive for me.
