Gannage Design and Construction

(5 reviews)

We entrusted Gannage Construction and design with a complete gut and remodel of my childhood home…read more They offered us designs in a few price ranges and we chose what met our needs/wants the best. With his online app, and change orders were listed and discussed and then agreed upon. It was very transparent. The crew who worked were top notch, and very professional. My questions and concerns always got immediate response. Then there is the work: from top to bottom the home has been perfect. Little items that came up after we moved in were quickly addressed and fixed. I can't imagine he has had a more drastic renovation than ours. It is now a dream/showcase house and we are LOVING it!

Just one highlight: Gannage exceeded the contract price on…read morethe roof he installed (by nearly $20,000 or 40%), but didn't tell me until I (a single woman) agreed to meet at the construction site at night, alone. He did not bring his building partner. He whined and said he "lost track of expenses" but said he asked his wife (I guess that's Keena) what he should do and she said, "She has to pay it." Then he called Mr. Kyle at Kyle roofing who said the same thing. I did call Kyle roofing and spoke to the owner Gordon Splatt who said there is no Mr. Kyle, and also said he had no such conversation, but if he had been asked for advice he would have said he'd never have that problem because his customers know exactly how much they are going to pay before he starts the work. So far I have spent $5,600 in roof repairs (to John Anthony Roofing) but did not have enough money to complete the repairs so my roof is perpetually tarped. ***I signed the new contract for the increased price because he made it clear he wasn't leaving without my signature.*** Right now it's 7/23/24 at 9:41 pm and there are only two other reviews (a fake and effusively praiseworthy one) from "Scott B" and another. Shortly, this business will be flooded with fake positive reviews in an attempt to bury mine and I will get a notice from Yelp telling me the "Yelp community has expressed outrage" and will remove my review. It is worth noting that builder Tony Odenwald reviewed Gannage's work afer I fired him and told me, "This work isn't derelict, It's criminal." I have the receipts.
