The bartenders were so nice and professional and they put up with all our crazy requests . I asked that they use my crazy high tech margarita maker and they picked up on how to use it super quick. Everyone thought they did a great job. The hall was super clean and you can use indoor and outdoors as well for an additional fee. The inside hall is perfect for smaller parties and if you have larger parties you can do an indoor outdoor party like we did. The lighting and placement of tables/ DJ set ups can be worked with easily. The food is catered Italian. VERY good. Decent menu selection for the cost. Basic price per person includes wine/beer and soft drinks. The guy (can't remember his name/I think Tom?) that you arrange details and bookings with, is easy to get in touch with and explains well what the place and prices offer. HOWEVER only ONE of the 4 plus workers that work the bar and clean up- is very nice and social. The rest are quiet and don't want to be "bothered" is the vibe they give off. The bartender for my moms birthday was the worsttt with his attitude! I paid for half the party and even I felt uncomfortable asking for another soda! "I feel the need, the need for speed."…read more Our family including the littles always enjoyed the annual Memorial Day Airshow featuring the Blue Angels at Jones Beach. Given the Cradle of Aviation Museum's proximity, I was surprised that none of my family's grown-ups had ever visited. Located in Garden City, the lesson here at this museum is that Long Island's aviation history is deep. Who knew that the majority of inventors and explorers of aviation began right here on the Island? If you're curious about this stuff, look it up, it's quite interesting. This museum is much larger than I thought, and houses original aircraft pieces as well as large replicas. There's also a ton of hands-on features and cockpits to sit in with instruments, knobs and buttons to fiddle with. We also attended one of the Planetarium's five hour-long shows in its giant, domed screen. Once the show started it garnered a few 'oohs' and 'ahhs' from the kids. It was quite tickling to hear their curiosities piqued. :-) A special note of thanks goes to all the docents, ready and eager to answer all our questions. Then there was another area dedicated to Outer space and there was even some arcade machines scattered throughout the museum that had to do with aircraft. Probably spent an hour and a half there. Easily could have spent a whole day there if you watch some movies they have and read all the plaques etc. for each thing. We ended up getting free passes from the library which was definitely a plus but if you're looking for something to do and keep kids occupied for a while this is definitely a place to go. They also have a cafeteria there as well. We did not eat there so can't speak on the food but it looked fairly big and everything was very clean.

When you are having these types of events the only people remember are the entertainment and the food. Steel did not disappoint. The food was phenomenal and MC Ricky was absolutely incredible. Just book MC Ricky don't think about it just do it. Every person was on the dance floor. The vibe in the room was so much fun! The decorations and decor were perfect. Richie was a pleasure to do business with and his staff was more then accommodating and went out of their way to make sure our guest with food allergies were taken care of. We also wound up having to have our service there prior to the party and he was able to turn our idea into reality making the space feel more appropriate for that part of the event. Which turned into a blessing in disguise as the party was on the minute the service concluded. The stress free transition made everyone truly enjoy the party. The added bonus of the all inclusive (except the swag) meant the overall cost was less and zero headaches as there were no vendors to have coordinate with. Forget about the traditional sit down catering halls. With the cocktail style dinner service the party never had to stop so you could eat. He explained that City Cellar has a seasonal menu and that they actually listen to customer feedback and suggestions when considering different menu options. I thought that was super cool! The expense and amount that needed to be done was overwhelming and I needed to figure out a way to rein it in. Hiring a DJ for a Bar Mitzvah is a must, but it isn't as simple as that. The company is also responsible for providing the rest of the kids activities and, most importantly, keeping the party entertaining and flowing. Having recently moved to Connecticut and not put on an affair like this in over two decades since my wedding, I had no idea who to go to and how to keep in manageable. Also, living in CT and never having lived on Long Island, I obviously had no awareness of Great Neck Games. Randomly, an acquaintance at my Synagogue mentioned them in passing. It was honestly the greatest thing that happened to me in planning the event. Although, I am not saying it was cheap in any way, they worked with me on price and activities in order to keep the cost manageable. But, honestly, I still had no idea what to expect day of and how it would all actually take shape. The low hanging fruit was all done flawlessly. Everything that we ordered was delivered and the room looked beautiful. But, it was the little things and the people that made this event so much better than a run-of-the-mill Bar Mitzvah (see below for two of many amazing photos). Everyone was so happy and had such a great time and I credit DJ Keith Webb along with (I wish I knew their names) the MC and motivators. Keith was so much more than just a DJ. We had a separate room for the adults and he brought a speaker and playlist so they had music in that room. There was no charge for this as he just wanted to help make the event a success. He helped me negotiate the price on a couple of things we needed last minute to keep us within budget. He had a smile on his face the entire time that could fill the room. I am so grateful to him and wish I had the ability to hire him time and again. And, the MC...don't get me started on how great he was. I feel bad that I still don't know his name, but as you can imagine the day was a whirlwind and there was lots going on. He was simply special. He made every kid and adult feel like it was their day as well. But, he especially made my son feel like he should at a party of this magnitude. The motivators, two beautiful and talented women, were equally responsible for making both kids and adults feel engaged, happy and special. They were perfect. I am going to cut this here as it is crazy long, but I cannot thank Great Neck Games enough for what they did. I didn't want to put on such an expensive affair, but they did something I didn't think was possible - made me happy I did it. And, they truly deserve a large share of the credit.

When I called this year, I was told that there was a 3 item minimum and a $350 delivery fee (which had not been charged in the past). When I indicated that I was a long standing customer, I was told, "Yes, but there has been a gap in your rentals for the passed 2 years". Duh. Never again. They do not care about their customers.
