So this is my second go around with acupuncture. I hadn't been feeling great lately. Life and…read morestress in general getting the better of me. I was feeling sort of ick in general. So I was looking for a place relatively close to home and found Hon Lee. I called a few days before and set up an appointment without too much problem. Prior to my appointment he sent me paperwork to fill out online and the office also checked to make sure they took my insurance. I arrived a little early just in case there was paperwork I needed to fill out onsite but thankfully that wasn't the case. For my first visit we chatted about my complaints, symptoms etc. He then looked at my tongue and checked my pulses (which for those not familiar with acupuncture this is a bit different that what you'd customarily check for with a pulse) but don't worry its still taken in the wrist area. After a 30+ minute discussion he took me into the treatment room and put the needles in. Now I will share with you all that I'm not a fan of needles and I'm a total whimp when it comes to needles. However, with acupuncture the needles are very fine, and depending on where there are placed you can barely feel that they are being placed. I'll admit there are a few places where it was a bit uncomfortable but overall tolerable. Following the treatment I chatted more with Mr. Lee he explained the Chinese Medicine diagnosis which doesn't necessarily correlate to a Western Medical Diagnosis. He also provided some recommendations on making dietary changes to help with my ailments. Very comfortable environment and I'm looking forward to returning. I certainly felt better after leaving and slept very well the following night.
