My only regret is that I did not start taking classes here sooner! :(…read more I have been wanting to try aerial yoga for a long time but kept putting it off because I was not sure if it was for me and if I would be able to keep up with the class. When I finally decided to give it a try I bought the intro package of 4 classes (2 regular and 2 aerial). I took 2 Forrest Yoga classes with Camille and absolutely loved them (however, I did decide to stick to the original plan and continue on with aerial yoga classes only)! I took one beginners aerial yoga class and then an aerial strength TRX class and realized that I totally can keep up with the class and it soon became one of my favorite work-outs! Being in the area on weekends only, I try to always make it a priority to take Jessica's aerial yoga core strength class and Meg's aerial barre class. Both Jessica and Meg are absolutely amazing at what they do and passionate about it. Jessica takes the time to make sure every member of the class feels comfortable with everything we do involving the aerial swing. I always feel like the class is a great mix of core work and some relaxation moments (the inversion at the beginning and end of class and the peppermint pillow at the end :) ). Meg's upbeat personality always makes the class a joy to be in! Meg focuses a lot on posture while working on core as well. You may not feel like you are doing a lot in the moment throughout small movements, but you are sure to feel it afterwards! I have also taken one class with Audrey, who was subbing one morning and LOVED it. I got an AMAZING core workout and only wish I had the opportunity to make it to more of her classes! I highly recommend taking classes at Good Karma! The instructors and classes are amazing and the price is totally reasonable! It is also super easy to sign up for classes using the MindBody app on your phone! :)

I came here with my friend to do a vinyasa class while in town. While I have no complaints about…read morethe instruction or the actual yoga, the atmosphere of this studio is very unusual. It's in a sort of industrial warehouse space. Very high ceilings and little sound proofing between the studios. While I was attending the class, I was really bothered by the amount of noise coming from a group of teenage girls who I think were doing aerial yoga in another studio. Really killed the vibe of the vinyasa class especially during the relaxation portion in the last 10 minutes. Also, this studio is very dog friendly, so folks with allergies please note this. Especially in the entry way, there were a couple dogs including one that appears to belong to the owners. Not sure I'd come back here which is not something I say lightly about a yoga studio.

Heartspace is the BEST! I had ZERO yoga experience, but was very interested in starting a practice…read more I reached out to Heartspace after several of my coworkers recommended it, and Andrew, the owner, directed me to a 6 week beginners series that was just about to start. I was really nervous to walk into a regular yoga class with absolutely no experience so this was perfect for me! I LOVED the beginner series; Rebecca, the instructor, did a beautiful job teaching proper form and all of the basic poses one should know in order to feel confident walking into any yoga class. She is incredibly knowledgeable about ALL aspects of yoga and can offer you any modifications that you may need. I was so impressed with Rebecca and this series that I did a second round of it! Now, I attend Rebecca's regular Saturday morning flow class and can't say enough good things about it! Yoga has done so many great things for me both physically and mentally in the short time I've been practicing, and I have Heartspace and Rebecca to thank for that! Heartpsace is full of caring and competent people who create a supportive and engaging environment for personal practice and growth. I will continue to be a regular here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a studio.

How am I the first person to review The Yoga Loft? I barely do yoga…read more That said, I started coming to this studio a couple of months ago, and since then have attended several classes. So while I may not have a good feel for the breadth of this studio's offerings, I certainly have enough experience with the place to share some thoughts. Quick story. For the past few years I've been having some trouble with my back. Nothing serious. Just muscle strain. But my wife was tired of hearing me complain about it, and I was tired of complaining too. Our collective thought was that the stretching and core strengthening of yoga might be just the thing I needed. But I had never done yoga before. And my flexibility was abysmal. Forget about touching my toes, I can barely touch my knees. So my wife found a few local studios that had a gentle yoga class. The Yoga Loft was one of them. And it just so happens that not only did the class fit well into my calendar, this studio just happens to be in the same building as my favorite cheesemonger. Done. And done. So I ran out and bought a yoga mat and some yoga pants. Now I'm doing yoga, and I like it. This class in particular focuses on making sure participants aren't overdoing it. Mary encourages her students to check-in with their bodies periodically, and offers alternatives to the poses just in case things get too intense. I love that. And I love how I feel after each class. I still can't touch my toes. But I think I'm getting closer to my knees. And without a doubt, this class is starting me down a healthier path. Well, at least a path with greater flexibility and maybe core strength. Because the health benefits from the class may be slightly diminished by my lunches at the cheese store next door. Which sometimes include an afternoon beer. Yoga followed by amazing cheese and great beer? That's my kind of exercise program.

I have practiced legitimate traditional yoga for almost 20 y and all over New England and wherever…read moreI have traveled....this place by far ranks at the bottom of the list ...if you want ego based instructors...that call some strange combination of animal flow ...pilates...and a little Yoga thrown in the mix while listening to Mississippi woman...Ronnie James Dio...and Led Zeppelin blaring on a filthy floor with the sweat of 30 people from the previous class still in puddles with no cleaning between classes and getting a stubborn bacterial infection.... have some creepy instructor rubbing your sacrum ...running their hands down your vertebrae and rubbing your neck..THAT IS NOT A ADJUSTMENT!!! If it feels WRONG IT IS!!@....with absolutely zero sense of community in a studio that feels like you are in a parking garage above a bar then this is the place for you....AND THE ONLY PLACE THAT I HAVE EVER PRACTICED THAT USES THE COMMAND ...EXALT ALOT .!!! ...Health and wellness is not what this place is about at all...more like a smug motley click of exercise junkies in some competition ....and I had gone there once when she first opened and it was the same then ...the only reason I just spent the entire winter and idk 650d going there was too try and heal from very severe trauma I had experienced...which REAL YOGA is very helpful with and to sweat...detox...but only hurt my body from Ego based classes and a nasty bacterial infection from the filthy floor that in 5 months of attending I only saw a cleaning service in the locker room once and never did I see the floor being cleaned and I went to back to back classes many many times...and no cleaning occurred...I spent 100d on a new mat there which I threw out after it being on the filthy floors and the sweat of the entire population of the place in it !!! And still have not healed from the bacterial infection I acquired there and its been well over a month and alot of Epsom salt bathes. Like most westernized things Yoga has been reduced to a narcissistic money grab..a big business....and I have come to the conclusion that being in a crowded hot oxygen deprived DIRTY room wearing some overpriced recycled polyester yoga outfit ie plastic on a expensive mat made of who knows what ??listening to some guru wanna be give commands IS NOT A HEALTHY CHOICE! And its not just this place ...most of them...this was just the worst example I ever experienced.... you vote with your TIME and MONEY..keeping mine and back to common sense and the best things in life are free...walking and getting fresh air ...stretching... feeding my mind.. body and spirit..not depleting it ....EXALTING THE LORD NOT SOME FREAK THAT THINKS THEY HAVE BECOME SOME DEMI GOD ...and if the saying cleanliness is next to Godliness is true well ...thus place is the anti Christ!
