While I did encounter some truly wonderful staff members who embody the qualities one hopes to find in a daycare, this was unfortunately not the case with all staff members. I personally witnessed an incident where a teacher handled a child aggressively, raising their voice and physically forcing the child to sit down during circle time, despite the child's visible distress and reluctance to participate. The final straw for me was receiving an incident report that did not align with the bruises my child showed up with, along with other concerning bruises that went unreported. Additionally, my child shared distressing details about their teacher's behavior. When I raised these issues with the director, Tammy, I found their response to be negligent, as they failed to investigate further. Instead, they placed blame on my child for being rough during outdoor play, even though the incident "coincidentally" happened in a camera-free area. This experience led me to the decision to remove my child from the daycare. I understand that other families may have different experiences, but the way these serious situations were managed was enough for me to feel that we could not stay.

Feeding was also not always age-appropriate, and on multiple occasions, my baby's bottles were returned full, indicating he had not been fed. I also personally witnessed Miss Jackie raising her voice at the babies on several occasions. Communication with parents felt inconsistent, which made it difficult to feel confident about what was happening throughout the day. As a parent, trust is everything, and unfortunately, I did not feel at ease leaving my child here. I strongly encourage other parents to ask detailed questions, observe closely, and trust their instincts when choosing care for their children.

I do wish the center took more precautions in not spreading diseases. But to be fair, it's also parents that keep sending their sick kids to the center and so my review wasn't fair for that reason (yelp doesn't have a delete function and hopefully folks can see i was sleep deprived and having a hard time). When it comes to Om having teachers who have helped him reach his milestones and getting exposed to learning early on, this center does do that well.

They have been attentive to my children and flexible with our needs. My children were not the easiest and they were willing to work with us and try out different things. Here, children are taught to be be kind to each other, and to share, praise, uplift each other, and be accountable for solving problems. Praise, sticker charts, and time away (breaks) are used to help children learn skills or reflect on their behaviors. Children have access to the giant yard, which allows for outdoor classes, picnics, and learning about nature. I liked how the area was also mostly shaded. There are many different toys, sensory items, and games available for children to engage with daily. I am always greeted warmly by staff and can see that they truly love children and adore them as if they were their own. They capture precious photos to share with parents. I can easily communicate by phone, text, email, or through the ProCare app and receive a quick response. I have visited many sites and decided on this one because the facilities felt comfortable, modern, clean, and spacious. Their tuition is also reasonable for the area. Parking is steps to the classroom and is always available making it convenient and safe. The preschool is located inside next to a church away from any main roads and is gated. My family will miss the CAPS team very much as they are truly a gem. They provide a quality program and develop children by preparing them how to socialize and operate in structured and unstructured environments.

When we did the initial tour, Ms. Rachel and Ms. Laura exuded so much warmth that we immediately felt welcome within the CAPS community. We were so hopeful, but still a little anxious about our son fitting in, so we started with 2 days a week. He immediately took to Ms Nansi in the T-K Tigers classroom. She embraced him with so much love and patience and built that trust with him very early on. He also built a wonderful relationship with his other teacher Ms Emma who was often the one to provide us with his report during pickup. From the first week on, we knew he was in wonderful hands and he began making friends immediately. I think it speaks volumes when your child jumps out of bed with excitement to go to school. 10/10 would recommend Carter Ave!

As we conclude our final week at Action Day Lincoln, I wanted to take a moment to formally express my appreciation for two amazing programs that they hosted. The first was the Multicultural Celebration on 2/19/26. I was pleased to see it organized, but I didn't think I would have time to attend. When I arrived that evening for pick up, our child was excited about trying to visit some of the wonderful stations. We only stayed for a short time, but the experience of my child getting a Passport to get stamped at the different country stations and try food and learn about each country was so positive and uplifting. I was so honored to be a part of the Action Day community beautifully representing the diversity and value that each family brings into it. The second was the Innovation Night on 3/19/26. After the experience of the Multicultural Celebration, I made an effort to ensure we had time to explore and enjoy the experience. We spent more time during this event and it was both fun and informative for the children. I could say more about why these events were so impactful, but I'll simply express that the demonstration of inclusion and innovation were so well organized that I can honestly say that they were the two best events I've attended in the almost 10 years we've been with Action Day. Action Day Lincoln has taken such good care of our boy!…read more Our son has severe food allergies and eczema that requires a lot of care and attention. He was in Action Day's infant program from the time he was 5 months until he was 1, then we took a short break and now he's back as a 1.5 years old. I'm writing this review because I had a hard time finding information about how daycares handle food allergies when I was looking through reviews myself. Jamie has done so much to help us feel confident sending our son (who is severely allergic to milk and eggs) to daycare. She worked out plans to keep him safe during meal time when other toddlers are eating his allergens, and ensured staff were all trained in how to handle allergic reactions. She even visited the local fire department to inform them about the severity of his allergies and ensure they were prepared to find their way around the campus should they ever need to. Additionally, our son has a great time every day and all of his teachers have been attentive, warm, professional, and easy to communicate with! Shout out to his current teacher, Miss Maria, who takes extra care to apply lotion to him all day long and does frequent diaper changes to keep his eczema at bay.

Since moving to Genius Kids, we've seen a noticeable difference in his development. The way he communicates now has improved so much. He speaks in clear, structured sentences, and his confidence in expressing himself has grown. It's been such a joy for us and even his grandparents to see this change. He genuinely enjoys going to school, has made some lovely friends, and absolutely adores his teachers. He often talks about them at home, which says a lot about the kind of environment they create. We also really appreciate the effort the school puts into activities and celebrations. Even though our son attends part time, they still make sure he feels included. For example, they save goodies for him so he does not miss out. That kind of thoughtfulness really stands out. Overall, it has been a great experience. It's certainly unprecedented times with Covid restrictions. And I thought he wouldn't be able to cope without me going with him inside for the first week. And I was very doubtful if they would be able to handle him and help us feel at ease. BUT we could not be more impressed and happier!! With literally everything. From the moment they called me to say they're open and have availability, to my son's first day of school and all the great updates I receive. Let me start with their great Covid precautions. It's truly difficult times for everyone and they're taking it seriously. Classrooms are cleaned regularly. Teachers and students are screened daily and parents are not allowed inside. I know how hard and strange that sounds (trust me I never had let my son out of my sight). But they're more than happy to have as many zoom calls as you like with directors and teachers. Ms Ebony, Ms Jen and our teacher Ms Martha always are there available and with a big smile under those masks. They send hourly updates, pictures and videos. They answered ALL my concerns. And most importantly I see that my son is actually excited to go to "school." Next I like to point out the diversity in the class. I am very happy to see that. Diversity is one of our big priorities and we are more than glad to see it at this center. Lastly the app makes all the difference. I'm glued to it at times (I can't help it ) and they are on top of it. Simply a pic, video or a few lines of how he's doing makes a difference. Overall we are very happy so far. Wish it was back to normal times so I could have become more involved, but considering everything that's going on, this place is doing everything right. We ended up going somewhere else and it worked out the best we could've asked for so in a way happy we never got a call back, Leah Kidger was the one we had did the tour with-- Also the place seems chaotic paperwork all over the tables when you walk in, no real organization. Not only that but you can hear the teachers yelling at the kids during naptime which was really off putting. Everything works out for reason and after reading the reviews glad we didnt go with this place.
