Also, the main artist is Alex Grey who for a long time has done artwork for the band Tool. I think at first the art seems very impressive and trippy, but after a while it all starts to feel the same. There is a cafe on site but I did not visit as the building it was housed in asked you to take off your shoes and it was snowy the day I went. At 20 dollars it feels a bit expensive but overall I am glad I went. That said, some detractors online have called the place "a cult" and the vibes I felt were a little weird. I don't use the term lightly, but just going to state what others have said. Apparently they also have once a month events (around the full moon?) that neighbors have described as very loud. So definitely some negative reports on them not being the best neighbors. In short, worth a visit to check out the art, but not sure about some of the other programming.

When we first arrived at Magazzino, staff let us view the Antonio Marras and Maria Lai: Llencols De Aigua Installation- this will be there until January 2026. All of us visitors were then told that some areas are not open to the public at this time. This promopted the woman at the front desk in this specific building to state that museum general admission is 1/2 price per person ($10 instead of $20) and that she could only take one form of payment. Because we wanted to pay cash, we were told that we can pay admission in the next nearby building w/ separate staff. It was nice weather that day, & we enjoyed walking on the property to the next building. Although a portion of the space was closed to patrons, we got to see some artwork w/ in Robert Olnick Pavilion, which was created in 2023. This included the Arte Povera which is their Permanent Collection. The architectural design of Magazzino Italian Art is modern & beautiful in its simplicity.
