Plus : - Great food: all tapas were excellent…read more- Generous portions at attractive prices - Very kind and friendly owner - Digestive kindly offered Minus: - Several tapas on the menu were not available, and also they were out of coffee - Communication problems: I reserved online, as requested, and received a confirmation. The day before I called because I wanted to add a fifth person, but there was a recorded message asking to do it per mail. I wrote an email but never received feedback. I tried another phone number, but nobody answered....and when we arrived the reservation they had was for 4 and not 5. Fortunately they have been able to accommodate us to the last available table

Do not recommend. I…read moreheard very good things from this place from Spanish people, I am Spanish myself and I was very disappointed with the experience. They have a rotating 5 course menu that you can't check beforehand which was fine by me but when my girlfriend and I went the menu was very lacking. The first course was a plate with curados, which is typical from Spain although the quality of the Jamón and the cheese was quite poor, but it was ok I was still excited to see the rest of the courses at this point. The second course (which took forever to come) was Lentejas(!!?). Lentils is a typical dish in Spain but I have never being served this for dinner in my life and to be honest is not a dish to serve in a nice dinner, this dish was traditionally made in Spain to fill up a big family with economical ingredients, definitely not something for a 5 course tasting menu. The next two courses were a little better, lubina with rice and cordero. They were good but nothing especial in my opinion. The last "course" was really the one that pissed me off. It was a tiny chocolate brownie, it was dry and quite bad, at this point we paid and left the place very disappointed. To sum to the whole experience, this is a fixed menu for 30 pounds each. The drinks menu was absurdly overpriced, with a glass of wine being 10 pounds and generic small beers being almost 5. I suppose other weeks the menu is better and that is where the reviews come from. In my experience however it´s not worth it AT ALL considering the price you pay for the mediocre quality and menu.

I love tapas because I'm awful at making up my mind what to choose in a restaurant. This is the…read moreperfect solution - lots of little dishes to share! I went in on a Saturday lunchtime and found the service very efficient without feeling rushed. It was surprisingly quiet, so we forgot about the world around and were able to concentrate on the delicious food. The dishes are in the range of about £3.50 - £5.50 each and they're usually split into 2-3 bits, so can be shared if necessary. I recommend getting bread as well - it's great for soaking up sauces and is nice, soft ciabatta style with tomato sauce to dip it in. Particularly recommended: - deep-fried chicken soaked in garlic - not at all greasy and very tasty - potato with layers of goats cheese, ham and tomato - prawns with scrambled egg and asparagus (much, much taster than it sounds!) The sangria comes with a good amount of fruit in it and at £3 a glass is cheap and plenty enough to last a meal (if you can resist another one, anyway!). All in all a really nice place if you're into tapas and a great introduction if you've never tried it.

My favourites are the selection of cheese, the garlic prawns and the little ham croquettes. Try a jug of sangria with it - it's very well done here and compliments the food greatly. This is a lovely place, decorated in a way inkeeping with the food and very private. The tables are well spaced, so you don't feel cramped or overheard. I like this place for dates or for a meal with a good mate. Always busy, so best to book it unless you've got time to have a drink at the bar first (which is no bad thing here). Go for a great, relaxed meal on one of Oxford's loveliest streets.
