Not as many homes were lit up in 2025, whereas ALL homes were not only lit up but super decorated back then. Plus, I noticed a fair amount of homes either have walls or shrubs blocking the street views, and it just wasn't amazing as I recall from my youth. There were a few really cool homes, but only a few. There was one that I REALLY liked, but I couldn't capture a good picture of it, but that's on me. The rest were just okay.

Some were decked out in their own unique way--some super extravagant with lights and themed displays, while others keep it simple and sweet, or some don't do anything at all. For a while, the streets give off cozy holiday vibes as you stroll through, though the experience can get a little tricky since there are so many cars passing by with their headlights and bright lights shining right in your face. One house went way above and beyond by setting up a hot chocolate stand and even offering to take photos of families on their sleigh display out in their front yard. How cool is that! Another house had a history display about the history of Candy Cane Lane (dating back to 1951!), which was super eye-opening and made me appreciate the tradition even more. It's incredible that so many homes still participate in it despite all the challenges--busy traffic, LA County, trash, and even pop-up illegal vendors (you see several set up shop). However, you can feel a sense of community here. I especially can't help but applaud the efforts of the homes that take the time to bring this tradition to life. That said, I think this is only really worth it if you're in the area or passing by. If you're more than 30 minutes away, it will be underwhelming because not every house is fully decorated. Either way, my girlfriend and I were thrilled to have a quick holiday experience on a weekday night. We also brought our dog along and other dogs were also walking around too. Once it got darker in certain areas of the street, we decided to wrap it up and head out. Still, it was a lovely experience, and if you have 30 mins to spare, I'd definitely recommend checking it out even for a drive with Christmas music blasting!

The mantra to show "No Mercy" is to treat someone with extreme harshness which echoes outside of martial arts, that leaves a stain on the soul. John Krease is truly unhinged, but sensei-Lawrence has fight and heart and brought balance to the dojo in a powerful way - but his struggles as a former student turned karate master definitely lead him on a better path. Mixing a splash of Miyagi-Do (the rival dojo)... "when the fight comes to you, you have to be ready to fight back..."... Johnny Lawrence cares and wants you to excel to the best of your ability in all areas of life which is what a true sensei should be and demonstrate, because karate isn't just a form of self defense it's a way of life. And while I've walked away after the All Valley incident pre-2020 as have others... I will never forget Cobra Kai never dies.

The bread was freshly baked, the chicken parmesan cutlet was juicy, breaded perfectly, the marinara sauce was tasty, and the salad could of been a whole meal on its own. Jessica was working the front counter and she was breath of fresh air, polite and friendly. I also didn't realize how big it was in there and the place was spotless and they have some old school video games in the back side area, with some nice classic booths. They had some cookies and brownies there from a vendor by the name of sweet b's and I'm trying to be good but next time I will pick up a box of brownies or bag of cookies. Fun fact, this is the OG Numero Uno in Socal, the OG creator of Numero Uno first location, period! Unfortunately, the last few visits have felt different. A few times I've ordered ahead and arrived only to find they didn't have my name or seemed confused about the order. On another visit, my wife placed the order and I went to pick it up. Someone who is normally very nice was surprisingly rude and repeatedly said, "It's Friday, we're busy." I understand being slammed on a Friday night, but you're a pizza place. Being busy on Friday should be a good thing! The pizza is still good, which is why I hope they can get the hospitality back to where it used to be. This place has a lot of history and charm, and I'd love to see a little renewed focus on service and making customers feel welcome again.

And a lot of familiar chains like Ralph's, Dollar Tree, Vons, Trader Joe's, Grocery Outlet (my fav), Del Taco (fast food taco king in the SFV) and one of the cleanest Burger Kings I've set foot inside more than once. The Anytime Fitness (so nice, clean and full of wonderful people) is just above the Chatsworth Metrolink station where you can also connect with several city and local busses as well as the Metro G Orange Line for the San Fernando Valley. Like all cities there is some grime, grit, graffiti (though not as much) and interesting characters, but also some charm and history. They have several public and private schools (almost 50/50) including Chatsworth High School which has a ton of notable alumni including Alex Borstein, Kirk Cameron, Lori Beth Denberg, basketball player Dwight Evans... and even Mr. CrossFit himself Greg Glassman. In terms of living and housing it's a little more on the secluded side in parts as most residences are in small neighborhoods and communities. It's not as cost affordable though you can possible find a nice spacious studio under $2K, but you're looking at much more for a 1 bedroom and up for an apartment, condo or townhome.... though Northridge, which borders Chatsworth has some more reasonable property being a college city (CSUN). I had a friend who lived up near the Garden of the Gods (trails and additional local flavor) and the old infamous Iverson Movie Ranch I'd visit a lot and got to see a lot of this city I never knew with some beautiful views. It's easy to drive, cruise and take it all in. You can enjoy some good cuisines including Indian, Vegan, Thai, Japanese, Comfort, American, Mexican and numerous others. Vegan My Thai is a must, Woodlands on Topanga Canyon Blvd has an incredible Indian Buffet and Paint with A Twist (a paint and sip creative space) is high up on my must try list. Topanga Nursery is great for plant enthusiast as well as Paradise Nursery, which lives up to its name and known more so for it's incredible fruit trues (planting + delivery services are available). For entertainment you have the California Conservatory of Performing Arts, Harley's Valley Bowl in Simi Valley... not to far away from the Santa Susana Depot/Railroad Museum plus local Magician and DJs for your party bliss or pop-up events pleasure. The closest movie theaters are the AMC Northridge, AMC Porter Ranch or Regency Granada Hills, but non directly in the city itself... for night/barlife you have more laidback or niche fun like the Cowboy Palace Saloon, The Rabbit Hole (technically in West Hills), 818 Brewery (Canoga Park), Olive & Fig (which borders West Hills, Canoga Park and Chatsworth) and a few others including several dive bar and venues, which can sometimes surprise you much like the city of Chatsworth itself.
