OK, I have never written this...but if there were six stars, I would give them to Cat Calls and Scott! Professional, warm, caring, communicative, easy! You can just tell by the website, this guy really cares about the business of pets. And he is so professional, yet caring and at ease. Scott has cared for my cat, Bastian, two times now. I have used Scott to watch my cantankerous cat Lucy for over a year now, and he's absolutely awesome. Usually my cat is frightened of strange men (she's a pretty skittish cat), but the first time she met Scott, she reacted with lukewarm interest (a rather positive sign in Lucy's world) instead of deep suspicion. Scott, to his credit, lit up as soon as he saw Lucy and immediately got down to her level and exuded warmth towards her without being pushy (the sign of a veteran cat person who realizes that some cats need time to warm up before letting people approach and pet them). I could tell right away that he loves cats, and that helped put my mind at ease. Scott's VERY organized and professional and thorough. When you first sign up, he brings over paperwork for you to fill out and leaves a nice checklist of things he'd like you to do before you leave for your trip. He makes you promise to notify him as soon as you come back from your trip so that he knows he can stop the cat visits--if you don't notify him, then he'll keep coming to check on the cat since he doesn't want the pet to be stranded by unexpected circumstances. While I was away, he sent me regular emails updating me on his visits to Lucy (describing her behavior that day and what they did together, be it grooming or playing or whatever), including photos of her to let me know she was okay, and he left a daily log recording everything he done on my coffee table, too. The most positive sign, though? When I came home from my week-long trip away and opened my front door, I saw Lucy look up at me from her cat bed and then return to her nap instead of running over to meow at me with plaintive cries. I knew then that Lucy had been well-taken care of, because when I work a lot of overtime, Lucy comes running to the door to let me know she's irritated by my absence and in need of attention. She only stays in her cat bed to watch me settle in when she feels relaxed and emotionally secure, and clearly, Scott was able to help her feel that way despite me being gone for a week. I really, REALLY like Cat Calls and highly recommend him. I hope I never move out of his service area (I recently moved to the very border of his service area and was panicked about losing his services, but he was nice about it and said he'd still keep me on despite the inconvenience of traveling to where I am). While encouraging other clients to hire him will probably make it harder for me to book him over busy holidays, I believe cats will benefit by having him as their sitter. So don't be afraid to check Scott out--he'll do a great job for your furbabies. :) PS: On a total side note, Scott's also a really nice guy to humans! Like everyone else here, I cannot be happier with the service Scott gave for my cat Benny. Scott had all the t's crossed and the i's dotted, spent time playing with Benny, getting the mail, cleaning up the occasional upset stomach incident, and sent a text message with details- including some watery eyes that turned out to just be a cold. I had Scott look after my two cats, George and Ira, when I went away for a week to a wedding in Santa Barbara. It was such a relief to have him there taking care of everything while I was gone. He is known by office staff and a regular at our apartment community, which was great news from the beginning. We left Scott a VM and he returned our call almost immediately. We scheduled an introduction visit, to go over his checklist, etc. and to meet our cat. I was pleasantly surprised how thorough he was with his process. We agreed on terms, frequency and price. (Cat Calls rates are very affordable, which is another reason for 5 stars). Scott offered to collect our mail while we were out, which was a big help as well. We were away for 2 weeks and Scott was visiting our cat every other day. We were outside of the country and it was nice to receive email notes from Scott about his visit and to know our cat is doing well and cared for while we are away. When we came back we found our cat in good spirits, he was happy and healthy :) which was enough to give thumbs up to Cat Calls. Scott took fantastic care of our cat, Tom while we were away for an extended vacation. I met with Scott the week before and so he could meet Tom. Scott took great care in learning all about Tom, his habits, food needs and play needs. We opted for the once a day visit, and like clockwork, Scott met with Tom at the same time each day. Scott's service was wonderful and the best option when Tom can not travel with us. Being locked in a small cage at a pet hotel just isn't the right choice for a cat that spends its time in a house. Tom gets to stay in familiar surroundings and still gets to have a visitor each day. Thanks Yelpers for recommending Scott and Cat Calls. When looking for a cat sitter, I turned to yelp and based on the positive reviews and his website decided he was worth the call. When we met him, our cat -- no kidding -- acted like she was FLIRTING with him -- she instantly liked him that much. This is a kitty who is distrustful of new people especially men (we think she was abused as a kitten prior to living with us). Anyway, not with Scott. Apparently, while we were on vacation, they had many love fests, lots of laser tag games and brushing sessions. He texted us pretty much every visit to update us and then left a long written catalog of his daily visits. WOW! AND he is incredibly reasonable. 10 Stars for sure! read more

My iguana doesn't need a lot of care and is very sociable and they took advantage of that. They left moldy food out for him, didn't make a bath for him to poop and I came home from a trip with my iguana in the corner covered in poop. I explained the situation to Scott and he was very sincere. He came over to hang out with Monster when I was home and then once more to go over last minute details. I know iguanas are not that common and I was ready to give him as much info as I could. I was happily surprised to know that he researched iguanas before coming over.
