If you want to skip the story and just read a review please skip until you see **…read more Through the years my wife always told me how awesome thrift store are so I finally took her up on her word and visited the Goodwill on Decker Blvd. We were there for maybe 10 minutes when I noticed an employee stocking items from a shopping cart onto the shelves. I noticed something near the bottom but wasn't quite sure what I was seeing so I stuck around her area as she stocked items. As she cleared items I was able to get a better look and to my amazement I saw a very ornate Cuckoo Clock. She picked up the box with the clock in it and placed it on a shelf. It took me approximately .00053 seconds to grab it! The clock was brand new without even a piece of dust on it. It seemingly had every part so I closed the box and brought it to my wife. As I was showing off my find I noticed the price of approximately $5.00. A cuckoo clock for 5 bucks, even if its a cheap knock off with a battery powered movement you can't complain about 5 bucks. When we got home I laid out the clock and all the contents of the box, to my surprise everything was there including the owners manual that I didn't see earlier. I was elated to say the least until I saw the address printed on the paperwork... my jaw dropped when I saw that this clock was from the Black Forest in Germany. After some research I found out this clock was in fact a genuine Black Forest Cuckoo clock that usually sells for $300-$400 new. I told my wife the news and about my new hobby of going to thrift shops every weekend. She just laughed and said this is a very very rare occurrence and that in over 10 years of her going to thrift shops she had never even come close to a find like this. Of course I thought otherwise so we spent the next month going to every store in the Greater Columbia area to no avail... she was right it was just beginners luck lol. I won't complain though because in the end we have a Genuine hand made Black Forest Cuckoo Clock that we paid all of $5.00 for and it works perfectly. We did put together boxes of clothing and household items and donated them to attempt to make up some of the difference.... I felt a little bad getting such a great deal lol. **Now, aside from my story here is the review on the store. There is plenty of parking out front and its a great shopping plaza. The store has been clean and clutter free the half dozen times we've been there. Its actually much more organized than many other thrift shops in the area. There is a huge area with tons of clothing, if i had to guess I'd say about 75% of the store is dedicated to clothing and shoes. They do have furniture but depending on the day or time of year there could be lots of furniture or almost none. The back wall and the back half of the left and right walls have shelves stuffed with miscellaneous items, this is where I found the clock. There is just a vast array of items that you'll likely find at least 1 item you'd find interesting or useful enough to purchase. I don't think we've left there without purchasing at least 1 item per trip. The employees we've dealt with were all very courteous and willing to help. All in all this is my favorite location in Northeast Columbia and we frequent this store quite often as health and time permits. Good luck and good hunting!

And then what do they charitably do with their massive profit? They hire their own employees! They are the charity AND the beneficiary!!! This particular store always reeks of weed. And while all piped in music sucks nowadays, this place plays it way too loud. I only go to thrifts to kill time. Very rarely do I buy anything. But this one is off my list. Not going back.

The short version: You'll likely have a better experience at a different Lowe's (the Sparkleberry…read moreLowe's is just up the road on Two Notch). The long version: I have been extremely disappointed both times I have visited. The first time I went to this Lowe's, I inadvertently placed an internet order to be picked up here instead of the other Two Notch Lowe's. After having received an email letting me know my order was ready for pickup, I headed to the store. When I got to the store, I went to the Lowes.com product pick-up counter at the front of the store. As sometimes happens at Lowe's, the customer service area was being used as a regular check-out register for customers so I had to wait a few minutes to check in with an employee. When I checked in, the customer service employee found my order in the system and let me know that someone would be bringing it up from the back shortly. Easy enough, right? Wrong! After waiting for about 15 minutes, I checked in with the employee at customer service and she assured me that they were on it. After that, employee after employee kept coming to the front asking if someone was working (e.g., is Tasha working?). The employee in question was never to be found. After about 35 minutes, they decided they couldn't find my order and to instead go through the store and pick each item. This was frustrating given that I could have done this myself several times over by the time they decided to go this route. I continued to wait while an employee slowly began to hand pick each item I ordered. When he had collected all items, he brought them to the front only to return to the back with a duplicate cart holding all items I ordered. The order had not been lost after all, but was in the back the whole time - it just hadn't been labeled. A quick visual check could have avoided all of this trouble. When it was all said and done, I had waited an hour for my order to be located. The whole thing was just such an unnecessary waste of time. The only silver lining to this experience was the assistance I received from Izz and Joshua, who helped load my items into my car. Update: I bravely went back to this Lowe's a second time, because I believe in second chances and I really needed an item that only this store had in stock. Unfortunately, the item was not to be found. One of the employees let me know that it was showing as in stock because it was on display. When I asked why the item next to it was not showing as in stock when it was also on display, she just repeated what she said the first time. I asked when and if the store might be selling the display items, as I needed this one to finish a bathroom set, and she said it would happen whenever the store took the display down. I still needed some things at Lowe's but didn't want to spend any more time in this one, so I headed to the other Two Notch Lowe's (Sparkeberry) where employees there informed me that this was not the policy for display items (instead, that these items are not sold because they are not installed with all proper parts). In the end, I feel both of these visits describe how this particular Lowe's location treats its customers. Many associates here don't make appropriate customer service efforts and they try to push work on other associates.

I waited 20 minutes on the phone trying to talk to a manager they never answered the call. Finally, I went down to the store asked to see a manager and sat down. After five minutes of waiting the manager arrived. I told him I've been waiting five minutes he responded "You haven't been waiting for five minutes on me."I told him of the twenty three hours I've been waiting for my order to be completed. And the managers's eyes lit up when he saw that was 24 hours late so of late Just yesterday No apology no nothing. After twenty eight hours I went to pick up my order from Monday the first. September 2, 2036 @ 3:00 PM that they filled yesterday and the gentleman asked me what can I do and I pointed at the sign and said get my order and the individual goes off crazy telling me to step down and all this stuff being super aggressive. I said you don't do that to people so he bitched and grumbled and filled my Order I demanded a manager and he walked off. The customer service heard him and after he walked off they called the manager. After twenty minutes she came over. She didn't apologize for what happened or anything. She listened to what happened. All the time her body language said to me hurry and get out of the store. I asked is he going to be disciplined and she said well I have to listen to his side of the story. I said that's your problem. A customer standing here demanding that the individual will be fired for his behavior towards a customer. I said you don't fire You have a problem. A little piece of advice Lowe's Garner Ferry don't shop there. The store is not stocked there's always crap in the floor. It's just not a good Lowe's. If anywhere I'd say go to Home Depot because I will never set foot in a Lowe's again. Don't get me started about the corporate complaint line.

As others have stated, the buying experience was fine, but delivery sucked. I knew what day my…read moredelivery was supposed to take place,, but never received notification of my time slot. After several tries and having waited all afternoon, i was told they would be coming to me between 5-7pm. They didnt arrive until 9pm. After putting together the bedroom set their drill was dead and they had no way to put the chairs that came with the dining set together so I told them they could wait until the delivered the dining table and put it all together then. It took 3 more weeks before my table came in and once again I had to call the store to find out about my delivery time. When the delivery driver arrived he had no idea he also had to put the chairs together. He didn't have a drill with him, so I graciously offered him use of my new set. He accepted and got to work. Later that evening I sat down for dinner at the table and noticed the chair was wobbly. I checked and it had several screws that had not been put in completely. This made me check the other chairs and it was the same situation. In fact 2 chairs were missing screws altogether. Now I realize the delivery guy probably didnt know he had 4 chairs to put together (lack of internal communication) so I gave him a tip before he left. At this point he knew he hadn't put my chairs together correctly, so he should have felt bad and finished the job or not take the tip, but nope he gladly took it and left me with chairs that were unsafe to sit on. Needless to say I will not be using Badcock again. I would rather pay more and get great customer service than pay less and not be treated like a valuable customer.

This is a great furniture store because they have nice looking furniture sold at reasonable prices…read more The staff is also friendly and helpful. What will make your experience shopping here one of the worse experiences you'll have shopping for furniture is the delivery team. First, the delivery truck has no ramp so the delivery team will have to muscle your furniture off the truck without damaging it. Second, none of the delivery teams we've had to deal with seemed interested in providing a great customer experience. In fact, it was the opposite, although probably not intentional. We've dealt with two different delivery teams for both deliveries and returns. In both instances, the delivery teams wrecked our hardwood floors. The team picking up the return tried to get the furniture out of the house without taking it apart. Once reality hit, they flipped the table over on its side on the hardwood floor and began taking it apart. One guy took it apart while the other guy stood outside talking on the phone. I entered the room just as the last screw was being removed and caught the table before it flipped over on my glass cocktail table. Needless to say, I don't think we'll shop here again. If we do, we'll hire our own delivery team.

On one aisle, there were so many items shoved onto the shelves that you couldn't even tell what they were, and it would have been hopeless to try and sort through them to find one that you liked. In another area of the store, there were just ripped boxes placed on top of a shelf, and again, you couldn't even tell what the merchandise was, and it looked very disorganized. In the rug and carpet section, it was perhaps the most disorganized that I've ever seen a store be, and there was even a carpet sticking out into the aisle, making it impossible to pass through. I know that you don't really go to Ollie's for an organized and aesthetically pleasing shopping experience, but this one trip was a little too excessive. Luckily, this was the first time that this has happened to me at this Ollie's, so I'm hoping that it was just a one-time thing, and I'll still be back in the future.
