You sign in with the front desk clerk and tell them what clinic service you're there for. Most vaccines are only $15 for puppies which is honestly quite impossible to beat. They also have pyrantel dewormer for only $5, a great price. The front clerk on our first visit there was not very welcoming, and mentioned how I arrived 8 minutes prior to the clinic closing. That was one of his first statements to me rather than a nice welcome in. Took over 1hr to be seen and I was the only one in the waiting area. When I was finally called up, they forgot to give me my dewormer so I had to come back and ask again. The vet was very kind and so was the vet tech lady. Overall 10/10, amazing place and they even have free community goods (1 per person), for the community. This is honestly a miracle for all the pet community in the area. Thank you so much to the owner and kind staff that allow this place to be up and running.

I unfortunately had a bad experience here. I dropped off a community cat for a regular neuter…read moreappointment. They asked me to pick him up 2 hours early which I obliged and came to get him. When I picked him up I was not told of any complications or anything out of the order for a regular neuter. I put him in the car with a blanket over his carrier to try and calm him for the ride home since he seemed scared. When I peaked to check on him I noticed what looked like blood but I thought it could've been something else so I continued home. I got him in the guest restroom and let him out and he was covered in blood all over from his mid back to his feet, the carrier was covered in blood that soaked through all 3 layers of the cushioning and stained the wood piece. My drive was only 15 mins home. It was traumatic to say the least to see all the blood and not know what was going on. Even more so when i repeatedly tried to call the paw mission and no one answered so I kept leaving voicemails. My cat was also very disoriented so he was running from me when I tried to get him into the carrier. When I got to the paw mission the staff didn't want to answer anything for me they took my cat straight back to the back and they were rude in my opinion. I started crying because I was terrified from all the blood I had seen everywhere and they told me I was putting the staff on edge and being rude. I was on edge because of the situation they put me in . The vet finally came to speak to me and did give me answers finally and reassured me my cat was going to be okay. But this whole experience left me exhausted and it truly could've all been prevented if they had just checked on my cat in the carrier at anytime before they released him to me

They gave me the number to the police station in Fontana, I called and was transferred to Animal control. They said they don't offer that service. So now I'm stuck because of red lining and discrimination on where the stray cats are right now. They said even if I found them in Rancho Cucamonga, they can't help. How could any human being resist helping kittens....they are like little innocent babies. It's so sad what kind of humans are they?

They treated Baby Blue with kindness, dignity, and love, and I will never forget that. I also brought Wera in to have her mass evaluated, and once again Dr. Lee took the time to explain everything to me and help me understand what was going on and what our next steps would be. Her expiration date had passed and she was scheduled for extermination. She gave us eleven years of companionship and protection. This year (2025), we rescued Brandy, a mixed breed Shepherd / Chihuahua (? not sure yet!). She had been found in Phelan. After a favorable meet and greet, I adopted her on her first day of availability because the clerk told me, "First come, first served." My tip: Go there often and look at the animals. Like a thrift store, the shelter has a different inventory of animals every week. I saw puppies on FB that were no longer available when I went there; the attractive ones advertised online go fast. The adoption fee is $20. The shelter sent Brandy to Dr. Rex in San Bernardino. (See my review of Dr. Rex.) Final note: This shelter has a reputation of being a "kill shelter." That is probably an unfair but accurate description. Too many critics online blame the shelter, but we as a society are more to blame for failing to spay and neuter our animals and for failing to provide for them safe and secure homes from which they cannot escape. My 4-star rating is based on the service provided by the shelter. I downgraded my review for the crowded and unfortunate conditions in Devore.

They have music playing for all the animals outside the outside area smells perfectly clean And the service I received inside was unparalleled. They brought my new pet out on a little bed and a sweater for her I think she was the oldest dog there when I saw her picture online I had to have her and they gave a free leash and they had food there for her as well. If you're looking to adopt a pet please come here for the pets and the service that you will receive! This place was 71 miles from where I live, but it was worth the drive!

I think it's a well-run and fairly clean environment for the cats here in particular, compared to some of the other shelters I've been to. They have a large area where you can spend time with the cats and get right next to them to pet them and see if they end up picking you to be their owner! I had a beyond expectation experience with Mindy and her daughter, even though at the end I didn't…read morechoose to go with the adorable and sweet boys Teddy and Khabib they brought for me to meet and interact with. Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. If you are also searching for your feline soulmate, please look no further!!

Both myself and my daughter…read morecalled, (the "are too busy to care for kitties AND answer the phone, so please send a text"), so we texted, created an account online (because they want to know you're "actually serious" about adopting before you can even MEET the cat you're considering adopting.) (I do understand and respect prioritizing the mental health of the cats, but I'm sure the cats, especially the adults, would prefer a compromise, like being required to fill out a one page form on the spot before meeting). Every serious adopter that goes into a pet store and sees one of this organization's animals that they are interested in adopting and is told they have to go through this and this and this step before they can even interact with the cat and know if the personality is a fit. Everyone loses out. In my experience, even if you do go through all the steps, they won't call you back, and a cat that could have had a home I know had that opportunity taken from them because of the seemingly righteous or superior attitude of the rescue people. They surely know how many people go in and out of those cat and kitten rooms at the Animal Friends of the Valley shelter. Having a few people go in one at a time to meet one particular cat, I don't feel, is any more dangerous or unhealthy for the cat than them losing the opportunity to be adopted and eventually being put down. I just don't understand rescues like this. If you're too small to actually help, then let somebody else do it.
