I needed my bike seat fixed since the pole was lodged inside of the hole. The worker was very nice and was able to pull it out and adjust it for me. For that, I was very thankful. Here comes my issue... I had a tote bag with me in which I ended up leaving in the shop. I called to verify that I left it there and asked if they could please hold it for me. They did. The next day, I retuned for my bag. There were about four workers there. All four glanced at me and continued to do whatever they were doing. Not greeting or acknowledgement. I waited about five minutes. I honestly thought they were just very preoccupied. Then, a Caucasian woman walked in with her bike and immediately got greeted. I eventually catch eyes with one of the workers who asked me if I needed any help. I told him what I was there for. He asked another man what he did with the bag. The man he asked replied, "She can wait. Money comes first." I sat on this experience for a few days before writing this. I needed to share. read more

Hands down the best local bike shop around . Tito is one of the best mechanics when it comes to all things 2 wheels and tricycles and well anything with wheels ! Honest . Reasonable prices . He can service a Fox 40 downhill fork but isn't to big to fix a flat . He's one of the few people I will let touch my bikes ! read more

Not only were my brakes checked and adjusted while I waited, but I was pleasantly surprised that there was no charge for this service because I had purchased my Fuji from their shop. This is a nice bike shop. Went for a bar tape installation (had my own bar tape) on top of my older tape for more cushioning. Tito explained all the steps and showed me how it would feel. The charges were ok. Would definitely recommend to anyone. They are busy, so expect some wait time. read more

This bike shop has been my local bike shop literally my entire life, and I'm in my mid 30's now. There are several shops closer to where I live now, and many more I pass by when I'm in the city (which is often). There's a reason I keep coming back here - it's a really quality shop. Tito, the owner has been working on bikes longer than I've been alive. He knows pretty much everything there is to know about bikes, and when he's helping customers who don't know much about them he's not condescending or anything like that. You know a business is good when they are friendly and willing and you feel it. These guys or I should say guy (Tito) went beyond. Let his buddies wait who were there to wait for him to close shop and go to dinner w him while he unhurriedly fixed my bike and gave me a clear rundown on what else I should get fixed in the future. Usually I'm a guy who researches a lot before I buy anything. However, in this case, I bought my (evergrowing)10 year old a Rallye from T R Us for real cheap. And there's a reason it's cheap. The rear derailleur had plastic mini gears. Plastic? WTF? But that's my fault. SO I called Castle Hill Bicycle Center and told him I have a cheap bike that needs fixing. He said bring it on in so he could take a look. I brought it in and he took his look and said just return it since it was a brand new bike. I told him there's probably no point but I did talk to the company to get replacement parts. Then said I was afraid that the replacement would just be made of the same plastic components. Since I bought the bike real cheap, I thought the least I could do was splurge on a proper (Shimano) part to make the bike respectable. He said no problem, gave me a good price that I didn't even blink on and told me to come back in an hour. Came back and it was done. Easy-peasy... The man, who I assume was the owner, could have quoted me something outrageous; Could have gave me an even pricier piece and told me that's all he had but he didn't.. He was honest. Something not found in NEW YORK anymore. He was a throwback to an honest, hard working, business owning New Yorker. A real shop man, a real POP of the mom & pop shops. I'm an ass. Been living in the area for over 22 years and I finally supported a local business that deserved to be supported. Support your LOCAL businesses and don't let big business ruin your neighborhood. I was referred to this establishment by a nine year old. He told me they were located on Castle Hill not far from the stores on the corner. (I had to smile for the effort anyway.). My son and I went looking for it and spent a good part of the morning searching for it. We were not successful in locating it and I did not have the number to contact them. We ended up going home, since my son did not feel well in the first place. I reached out to them to find out where they were and the person who answered was soooooooo nice. Long story short, we ended up going to the bike shop the very same day, minutes before they closed. Not only were they kind and patient, they were extremely accommodating. The best bike shop in NYC. These guys are professional and will not rush through a tune up or new purchase. Also, they will advise on what parts you can upgrade (tires, shocks, rims, etc..) from Amazon or eBay and bring into the shop for them to install for a small fee. read more

Small bike shop with a moderate selection of bikes. I originally went with a friend of mine. I was allowed to fit the bikes. Spoke with the owner of the store about what I was looking for and he gave me a good idea. I started speaking to my friend on the side for a moment and the owner made a rude, passive aggressive comment I guess since I was prolonging a sale. Anyways, thats the only complaint I have about the store. Otherwise, the owner is very knowledgable about bikes. Be honest about what you're looking for and he'll find you something good. read more
