Buttered brazils, strawberry Fizz Wizzes, humbugs of various stripes, liquorice is all its awful guises (I hated it) including the packet of sherbert with a liquorice stick inside like a small firework. Those flying-saucer sherbets in different art-deco colours; aniseeed balls, pear drops, barley sugar, sarsparilla, sherbert lemons. A treasure trove. Interestingly, most are still made in Scotland and the North of England. It's a labour of love by the owner, Judith Burnett, to keep each jar stocked. How lucky we are that she does.

Apart from shelves full of all sorts of sweets from around the world, the main attraction is the counter laden with fudge. There are so many types and flavours of fudge on offer, that it's hard to choose. I usually end up leaving this shop with many paper bags containing small amounts of different flavours. I can vouch they are all delicious and you'll probably be back for more. :) There are also jars of jams, marmalades, curds as well as hard candy on offer. My only complaint is that the service tends to be a bit slow. Overall, a nice little shop full of sweet treats for children and adults alike.
