I found Mateos Landscaping, was able to set up a day for a visit to get a general evaluation and quote well within the same day of messaging. Cristian arrived with his brother and was very courteous, professional, and helpful with his assessment and offered many valuable insights and suggestions that me and my husband never considered before! It is very enjoyable talking with him! His prices were very reasonable, and he showed up the next day to do the work, which was VERY thorough and high quality! They did even did more than we originally planned because we were able to get our plants in unexpectedly early the previous evening. Me and my husband are extremely happy that we found this excellent company and hope to work with them for a long time to help us with our gardening and landscaping needs! highly recommend! Oh, and if there any complaints in reviews about 'bad/poor communication', sure, they might not be able to message when they're busy doing such a good job on someone else's yard (and therefore might be a bit late because of that), but if you can keep that in mind and be a little patient, you won't regret working with them!!

Had a great experience with this crew. They removed all the dirt from my sidewalk verge (about 540…read moresq ft, ~4" deep) and made the whole process easy. They showed up on time, brought the right equipment, and got the digging and hauling done quickly without tearing up the surrounding area. The grading came out clean and level, which made the rest of my project way easier. Communication was straightforward, pricing was great, and they were flexible about hauling the soil to private land instead of charging dump fees. No shortcuts, no surprises--just solid work. Would definitely hire them again.

This made removing and unloading the old concrete challenging. The same challenge existed when delivering the base rock, cement sand, pavers, etc. Soil prep was by the book, excavating a full 12" deep, a layer of base rock, then compacted, Geo-tex fabric, a layer of cement sand (not common sand), compacted, then screeded and leveled with a gentle slope away from my house and away from the front of the garage door. Polymeric sand was brushed in-between the pavers, swept, and watered. I waited 72 hours before driving on them to allow them to fully set and cure. The other thing Jesus did was to put rebar around the perimeter of the pavers and cementing them in place to prevent the pavers spreading over time. Pavers laid and specially cut to work around my gate post. I particularly like the way Jesus's crew made angled corner cuts. Jesus was flexible when I had to change the plan layout and he even offered to pick up landscaping boulders I picked out at no additional cost. Because of the change of plans I asked Jesus if he would pick up decomposed granite (DG) for the front yard, which he did. The front landscaping is still in progress at this writing. Jesus had all the proper and commercial-grade equipment, Bobcats, two types of compactors, hand tools, and tile/cement cutting saws. Jesus's crewed worked throughout the day, only taking a lunch break. This was during some days we had in the 90s! I called three landscaping companies for bids. One company that has the name of a suite of cards, was more than double Jesus's quote. The second company has the name Garden in it. That representative had asked me to go down to the hardscape company he works with and check out the pavers. He never gave me a quote. When I called him and asked him for a quote he told me he was on vacation and would call when he returned. He never called me with a quote. I found Jesus to be honest, direct, and true to his word and contract. Jesus was a pleasure to work with and his crew did an excellent job.
