I used Castaldo Studio for both photography and videography for our wedding in December 2019 in Mexico - I cannot recommend them enough. Upon arriving to the resort, they took it upon themselves to scour the whole property to find the perfect locations for our photos. LIERS, I know that the Groupon said no photos included, I called before buying it to know the prices, a man answered the phone and told me about the 20 pictures included and if you want to buy more it will be $50 each one, and if you want to extend the hour is $150, in this conversation I explained to him that we were a team we were not family. When we got there everything was ok, before starting I asked the photographer if the 20 were included, he agreed and started taking me pictures. Now that the link was sent, is the problem.  the person whom I talked to today said to me that it does not work like that and that I am the one trying to take advantage of the situation, I called to know the rates to be sure of everything, and the man that answered offered me 20 pictures, I really was willing to pay for it, but if someone on the team tells me something then the photographer also agrees is confusing. In the end, someone on the phone told me something else, that just makes me feel betrayed and angry. I told him I'm willing to buy some photos as I was planning, but that is not the way to treat a customer, we expected higher customer service.  it looks like you don't care at all what your team is telling the clients. We had a wonderful experience working with Castaldo for our March 2022 wedding! I have admired their work on Instagram/Facebook for a long time. We were so honored and excited to have the chance to work with them for our big day! First of all they arrived EXACTLY when they said they were going to on the wedding day. The clock struck 3pm and they were at the door ready to start! We are obviously not models and i was feeling slightly nervous about being on camera. But Cecily, Dom and Xavier made both me and my husband feel SO COMFORTABLE. Their ability to pose us and give direction was amazing and so helpful! They work well together as a team (Dom and Cecily are husband and wife) which makes it really fun! They are passionate about what they do and it's very obvious. We got our photos back about 4 weeks to the day after the wedding which was great and timely. The photos are TO DIE FOR. We were more than pleased by the end result. They are truly stunning photos! We are so grateful for the lifelong memories Castaldo captured. We haven't received our wedding video yet (it takes several months to complete and it has only been 9 weeks since the wedding) but we are sure it will be AMAZING. 10/10 i would recommend using Castaldo for your event! read more

I have spent many days going over the day we signed our Castaldo contract and our consult just doesn't match how we have been treated since. I wish I could go back and be that efficient person I usually am and have been more demanding about what I expect. Karen E you are dead on with your comment and reaction to their customer service. Until I read your comment they made me feel like I am just an over reaching postbridalzilla. I must say, prior to the wedding and the day of, they seem to be very attentive to our every request and or needs. Since the wedding we haven't received our wedding album and just received our DVDs after many calls and just straight out demanded. We were so surprised to see they released our DVD on their site without a follow up or consult post wedding. We were told we could pick music etc. I was even more surprised at after initially waiting 8 months for it, it just seem to be of poor quality editing and the creative process to tell our story. We were told that the video would be Hollywood quality and it's really IMovie quality. In their defense, never have children at your wedding without a person responsible for that child. My granddaughter made so much noise and was in everything they tried to do. I'm sure she caused an editing nightmare. But we were dealing with professionals so I was trusting their professionalism and as a bride I didn't ask for extra shots like I should have. My mother was with me in the parlor the entire time while I was getting dressed and I do not have one photo of her. She was even there before I got there all dressed up too. I was so excited I didn't think to ask them to shoot us or do this that or the third. This has left me with fawn memories as well as heart broken. I only have one picture of me and my mother and it was taken when Castaldo was leaving so I look reception tired. I have no pictures of me and my in-laws and none of my God-Parents, who have since died. I appreciate the extra things they did for me like visiting the venue at rehearsal to search for perfect lighting, and a few other things but my God, since I complained a week after the wedding I have heard every excuse in the book. We had Angels at the wedding I described in great detail how important their presence was to me and why they were there to represent my father who had passed. I do not have one picture of me with them. I specifically requested they do a photo shoot with them, I assume it was done while I was getting ready. Nope, not one posed pictured of them or me with them. Again I spoke about this issue they offered to reshoot us for a price. Sorry I have so many issues back to the video. So with Hollywood type editing, I'm thinking they would do a voice over with the salutations and music used at the wedding to compensate for the over active child. Now with all their professionalism I can't understand for the life of me if the baby is to blame for the noise pitch ups and downs why not tell the story with the still pictures and simply silence the sound and recreate the moments with the actual music used at the wedding. We did voice recordings and letter, I'm thinking duh just do it that way. Nope they told me a professional editing team pulled the best of the best and that's what they came up with and they do not just have brides sitting with the editor giving them direction. After I spoke of this issue again they offered me the opportunity to send them some suggestions and the songs I would like and they'd have me come in. I sent, I haven't heard from anyone. It's really frustrating, I decided to just move on and not let this ruin my memories or experience. We have text emailed and we still haven't resolved this issue. We paid a nice amount of money and the resolutions have not come to pass. In their defense they take creative pictures and the quality is very nice. My suggestion before you sign, you better get in great detail what they better take a picture of and what you expect. I expected more based on their incredible reputation but they have fallen way short. Unfortunately I would still recommend them because of their creativity but get the details in writing. Once the weddings over they have no concern for you or your day! Well it's 9/21/2015 I dropped off the hard drive to receive our raw footage and I haven't heard a peep. I dropped it off to Domenico himself. I was chastised for my poor review of their customer service and basically scolded for even leaving a bad review. He told me to my face that I am hurting his business and he would take a look and even see if he had my footage since I'm dropping off a hard drive two years later and he probably doesn't have our pictures any more. His words not mine. You would think the first thing he would do is honor the I will get back to you in a few days statement. So sad because he is extremely talented and takes amazing pictures, but his attitude and business sense is horrible! read more

My boudoir photo shoot at Castaldo Studio was so much more fun than I thought it could be--and I was already really looking forward to it! Cecily did my stunning hair and makeup. I was in the dressing room getting glamorous for an hour or so. My shoot was an hour, and then I was able to pick out my shots with Bianca right then to bring home with me! Domenico the photographer along with his assistant Jason made me feel right at home in the studio. Their professionalism and friendliness, along with just the right music, really set the right mood and comfort level. I am so pleased with the shots he created--the poses are super sexy and natural and very me. I brought outfits and they also supplied a few fun ideas :) The entire experience from start to finish was extremely positive and I would recommend a boudoir shoot for anyone! This is the unhappiest experience I've had with a photo studio due to the horrifyingly terrible customer service, especially from the owner himself. Communication from him is highly arrogant, condescending, and disrespectful, as well as extremely unclear and hard to understand. My questions were never properly answered. During the photos shoot, he left and turned it over to his wife (who told me she has no photography training/background). I would not recommend this studio if you care about compassionate customer service, attention to detail, organization, clear communication, and good business ethics. read more

Buyer beware with this company. We booked a session through eventbright for a holiday session in November. The website showed the date and time being available. On our way to the shoot the studio called and said we need to give at least 48 hours' notice for any bookings. While not ideal, I can be someone understanding even though our whole family was dressed up and on the way. My frustration has been trying for the past 2 months to get a refund for the session that we never attended. They are slow to respond until you threaten to take to social media. I have never had this much trouble trying to get a refund from any company, ever. I would recommend you give your patronage to another company that values their customers. They have lost me as a potential customer for life at this point. read more

This experience has been terrible. I was initially concerned when I was told the main photographer booked a conflicting shoot and that someone else would be shooting my photos. During the session the photographer stepped out to attend to the delivery of their vehicle and left me laying on the floor in lingerie for 15 minutes. While shooting the studio floor was so dirty that the bottom of my feet ended up black in the photos. My boudoir package was meant to include an in person review and it wasn't until after the session when I asked about this in an email that I was told this would not be performed due to Covid. I requested to review them over zoom as all of the proofs I received had branding obscuring them (making it difficult to assess. They reassured me that each photo would be retouched at my request. The editing was sloppy and I had to request their attention to issues a few times. My final copy was sent to me with a duplicate of one of the images in the book. I mistakenly approved the photos only to realize a few minutes later that the picture they replace the duplicate with, was not retouched as requested. I was told that it would be 150 dollars to fix it because I signed off on the photos a few minutes prior. I asked if this could be completed at no charge since it was not a new request and have waited 5 days without response. Ultimately I only care about the quality of the book as it is a gift. I shot these photos on July 10th. It is September 14th and my fiancé's birthday has already passed. At this time I am waiting to pay my final invoice (to upgrade to a larger book size) with the last shred of hope that I will receive some customer service. Again, if the final product is decent, I may increase this rating. I'll keep you posted! read more

Yesterday I had my first ever boudoir session with Castaldo Studio. I have been a fan of their work since 2012 when I became engaged we were looking for a wedding photographer. We decided to elope so ended up not using anyone, but nonetheless I still followed their social media sites and have remained in awe with their work. I purchased a living social offer in 2015 for a session but never used it. Castaldo honored the purchase price from so long ago and I applied toward a package which included a hair and makeup session. I arrived and they played a video for me of their boudoir work which was awesome because it put my mind at ease as I was a bit nervous. I was taken back to the make up room where Cecily arrived and she began on my hair and makeup session. She was a doll, we immediately hit it off. She took her time with me at no time was I rushed through any of the service. I was so impressed with my hair and make up she did an amazing job! I then met Domenico and he was so awesome, he made me feel so comfortable. He looked over my outfits with me and asked why I wanted to do the shoot etc. He suggested that we begin with something black and then we began to shoot! I honestly can say that he is the consummate professional. I felt like a celebrity he was directing me and shooting away. He allowed me to go through all of my outfits and through it all he was so patient and just knows what he is doing. I am so excited to see the photos he spent nearly 4 hours with me and I'm so confident we will have some great shots to review. I highly recommend Domenico and Cecily and Castaldo Studio for all of your photography needs. Their eye is incredible and both are super talented. read more

Things started out great and I thought Cecily and Domenico were very nice, on time and professional at my events. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. It started by being given thousands and thousands of photos where most were out of order and difficult to sort through (and still some were missing that I had to ask for them to find). Then the behind the scenes miscommunications, disorganization and corrections with video were very frustrating. Still, I was willing to brush all of that off and be happy if the finished products all looked good. I can understand video edits can be difficult with extensive Indian weddings. However as far as my photos went, I landed up with extremely poor quality wedding albums. I paid $2000 to Castaldo for 3 albums and received ugly plain black albums that printed such that we all looked like dull orange Oompa Loompas. It looked as thought the red and pink ink had gone out from the printer. In Hindu weddings, the colors and vibrancy of our outfits mean everything. So when our deliberate bright reds and pinks all print dull and orange, it is extremely disappointing. When I addressed the poor quality and obvious color issues with Castaldo, Domenico called me and said "99% there's nothing I can do for you" and did not seem to care at all that their 3rd party printer service delivered such poor quality of THEIR photography! Inevitably, they said the 3rd party printer (he wouldn't tell me who they were) would give me a 10% discount to reprint and no refund offered. Why should I pay for them to fix their mistake of poor color calibration? Even my cheap at-home printer was able to print the colors of the wedding photos properly. Looking at those albums just make me so angry instead of happy. I will have them reprinted elsewhere on my own. I do not recommend Castaldo Studios for your special day. read more

The whole team at Castaldo is professional, friendly, and talented. I purchased a boudoir shoot with hair and makeup included. I booked easily through email and received a few appointment reminders before the shoot. On the day of, I brought a friend and many outfits, and we were greeted with wine and a rack for all of my outfits. The hair and makeup artist did a phenomenal job and did exactly what I pictured. The entire experience was easy-going and I never felt uncomfortable once. My friend adjusted anything that needing moving or re-positioning actually on my body. The photographer (Domenico) was professional and we only did what I felt comfortable shooting. He knew exactly how to position and what lighting to use. The pictures are phenomenal and I can't wait to get my final edits. You can tell the whole team and especially Domenico love what they do. read more
