Quicksilver Studios

I have dealt with Quicksilver Studios on two occasions (the second not by choice). The first,…read moreabout 12 years ago, we had a family portrait taken to be used as our Christmas photo. We had the photos shot around the beginning of November and planned to send them out in our Christmas cards. However, we did not receive our photos until about a week before Christmas even after many phone calls and complaints. Needless to say, our cards went out late that year. More recently, my daughter had her first date to the high school Homecoming dance. I, unfortunately, had to be out of town that evening and i made her PROMISE (a dozen or so times) to get pictures. She assured me that Quicksilver was to do the professional photos. I remember whincing at the thought, remembering back to the Christmas card fiasco. Needless to say, although my daughter DID get her picture done with her date, Quicksilver suffered a "technical difficulty" and only the first 50 or so photos (of others and THEIR dates) turned out. My daughter's photo was never recovered. I HIGHLY suggest going to BIG PICTURE in Coeur d Alene....They are AWESOME!!!

My experience was less than satisfactory. While most of the employees are, I'm sure, very kind, the…read morephotographer that I was assigned was not friendly. I was very surprised at the way I was being treated. Also, my sister responded to a postcard from them in the mail claiming a "model search." This search was very tricky. It required a girl aspiring to model for a photography studio to fill out an online application and then go in for an interview. After getting the "job" as a model my sister went in for her first modeling shoot. Afterward, the photographer told her that she would not get paid for modeling, nor would she get any of her photos printed without paying $50 each. And if she wanted to keep modeling she would need to buy an over $1,000 senior photo session, and that price doesn't include the price of the prints. Overall, I believe the so called "model search" was a marketing trick to get girls hopes up. It was more of a client search than model search. Very disappointing.

I do not recommend JC Penney's studio at the Northtown mall. I planned a photo shoot with my kids…read moreand grandkids as my daughter and grandson were moving out of state and I wanted one last family photo. I made an appt which Penney's then they changed the time on me. We arrive early for the new time and still waited 45 minutes and with young children that is not ideal. Once I asked how much longer they then moved us into the studio. We took a flurry of photos and the photographer was good with the kids but unfortunately not many photos are usable. I'm not a picky person but I really can't use most photos for a variety of reasons. I did fill out the survey that was sent to me from JC Penney's and was contacted by a regional manager rather quickly. I was told the studio would reach out to me for possibly another shoot but I heard from no one. I called the Regional manager back to inform her that I never got a call but I still have not heard back. My daughter and grandson have moved and our opportunity for a nice family photo is gone.

If I could give no stars, I would. Absolutely horrible…read morecustomer service and over priced for the quality of pictures you receive. I can only attest to the one photographer we did have and she was not good at her job. :(. I'm sorry I don't have a name to provide you guys. :(. Otherwise i'd suggest to just not pay for pictures when she was the photographer. Anyways... We thought JCP portrait could capture our 12 month olds photo but as we soon would find out, obviously not. Just as our kiddo started to warm up to the unfamiliar surroundings and stranger snapping his photo (appr 15 minutes into the session), the photographer stated she was out of film. [15 horrible to so-so pictures is apparently the max (sense the facetious tone) ;?] She had missed the most adorable expression and demeanor; he was cuddling up to the bear they had him hold, while sitting on the couch (very rare moment for a walking 12 month old). I just wish I had thought to have brought my own camera, as I could have at least captured that precious moment on my "film" LOL... in our digital world. The photographer then left the room; we didn't even know our session was done. While she was out, we kept trying to keep our kiddo happy and smiling in preparation for more pictures; when she did finally come back in the room she said, "you guys need to leave, I have other customers waiting." On a side note, there were no customers waiting; the next customers arrived appr 20 minutes later. I know bc we were waiting around to see the photos that she did capture. My advice... Find another photographer, perhaps even the north JCP portrait. Good luck parents... Signed a very disgruntled and dissatisfied parent.
