"Greeter" states office left msg to arrive 20 mins early yesterday and she'll reschedule me for my appointment. Five mins early for agreed upon appointment time and I'm late. Hey Docs! Let's try a novel approach: Agree upon a specific arrival time ESPECIALLY if you're gonna turn away patients for not showing early enough!! UPDATE: Received calls from Lifton's staff wanting to reschedule (). However, stuck to we texted and emailed you re showing 20 mins early. Newsflash - texting and emailing does NOT ensure receipt especially wrt FL's elderly population. Shame on you for turning patients away for showing up NOT EARLY ENOUGH!

I waited six months to get my mother, who has Alzheimer's, into this neurology office. We arrived…read moreon time today and were given paperwork to complete. The man at the front desk looked at us when we walked in, I provided my mother's name, and he handed me a clipboard without saying a single word. Not exactly a warm or helpful start. As I went through the paperwork, the first page stated that only two people are allowed to go back to the exam room. I had my father with me as well -- he also has Alzheimer's -- so leaving him alone in the waiting room was not an option. I went back to the desk and explained the situation, expecting some understanding from a neurology office that routinely works with patients who have cognitive impairments. Instead, I was told "sorry, office rules" with no flexibility or attempt to find a solution. Anyone who works with Alzheimer's patients should understand how unsafe it is to leave someone unsupervised, especially in an unfamiliar setting. Since they refused to make an exception, we had no choice but to leave -- after waiting half a year for this appointment. This office showed zero compassion, zero accommodation, and zero awareness of the needs of the very patients they claim to specialize in. I cannot recommend them.

Unfortunately- I must give only a 1 star. I was a patient with Epiphany for OVER 8 YEARS. This was…read morethrough my work health benefits. My employer changed my benefits this month to a different insurance company and Epiphany would not be covered. This was a decision made by my employer. I knew this was coming so, I spoke a few times with my Doctor at Epiphany about me paying them to be able to continue to use them for an additional month or two so I could "bridge" my time between using Epiphany and finding a new Dr. once I got my new insurance information. My Dr. seemed fine with it and never objected. When I went to see him for my last appointment covered under my health care plan at work, my Dr. told me to stop on my way out and see the office manager to set it up. He actually walked me to her office. I told the office manager that I had just the day before received my new insurance information and I was looking for a new doctor. I would call her the next day to let her know if I found a new doctor, (in 1 day!), (This takes time finding one and getting in to see them as a new patient), or if I needed to continue with Epiphany for a couple more months. ***Side note; I see this Dr. on a monthly basis due to a medication I have. The very next day- the office manager called to tell me the "Doctors have made a decision"; anyone who wanted to continue with Epiphany needed to sign an annual contract and they would not do the month or two "bridge" as we previously discussed. Now let that sink in. The decision was not mine to stop using them. It was decided for me. They know I need a prescription refilled and they know I need to be seen in order to do it. They let their anger over losing a lot of patients, (because my work left them and there were a lot of employees covered with them), have precedence over the care of their 8 yearlong patient. They apparently do not care for the patient's needs. ***Another side note; my friend at work asked for her script to be refilled for the 90 days, and the doctor told her she would only do it for the 30 days and my friend could ask her new provider for the rest. She was still covered under her at that point! Unreal.
